As soon as we walked…read morethrough the door, we were greeted with a warm smile from an older gentleman who made us feel instantly welcome. The cashier was also very patient, answering all of our questions about the milk teas, toppings, and yogurt drinks. After scanning the menu one more time, we ordered three drinks: * Mango Milk Tea with boba pearls (50% sugar) * Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba pearls (75% sugar) * Taro Milk Tea with boba pearls instead of coconut jelly/nata de coco (25% sugar) My daughter loved her mango drink -- perfectly sweetened to her taste and full of real mango chunks. My sons enjoyed the brown sugar milk tea, which reminded them of taho (a Filipino comfort food made of soft tofu, brown sugar syrup, and pearls) because of the syrup that coated the cup. I had the taro milk tea at 25% sugar, and let me just say... it was slurpy-licious! Next time, I'm definitely going to try a drink with ube (purple yam) and of course the Halo-Halo -- the ultimate Filipino shaved ice dessert layered with sweet ingredients which needs to be "mix mix" (halo-halo) before enjoying. Who would have thought red beans can be in a dessert?!?! It's a must try for sure! We'll definitely be back to Shake Your Boba -- simply decorated yet very clean. What makes it even more special is that it's Filipino-owned. Remember the older gentleman who greeted us? He turned out to be the father/father-in-law of the owners. Such a genuinely kind man -- we had a nice chat with him while waiting for our drinks.

(My favorite is the galaxy tea and the Ube creme brûlée bubble waffle). My sister and I drive an hour just to come here, that's how good it is. 10/10, wish there was a location closer but definitely worth the drive!

I encountered some confusion as the online menu for this place has changed. The bottom line is that…read morethey offer some good tofu based vegetarian options, which there are not an abundance of in this area. The hours are a little bit limited and I ended up getting brunch from them. The space is small and somewhat receded from the main street so I first drove by without noticing it. The end result was a small but delicious banh mi filled with marinated tofu, for which I appreciate the option to do a little customization on the toppings. They emphasize their house, pickled carrots and daikon. I also got a tea that delivered strongly on flavor. I took some noodles to eat later, and these had apparently the same marinated tofu, which was still good as well as a slight excess of salty sauce. The place has its limitations, but it is a success in offering genuinely Vietnamese and vegetarian cuisine.

I've learned to make my own over the years and am quite good at it! Who'd have thought when I moved to West Virginia 10 years ago that I'd find any here? Boy was I wrong! Yen's Sandwiches in South Charleston has fabulous Bahn Mi and other Vietnamese food! 5-stars, baby! So GOOD!!!

This place is...interesting, in a good way. When I was told I was going out of town for a work…read moreevent in West Virginia and this was the name of the place. I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.

They stirred my coffee clockwise even after reminding them it needs to be stirred counter clock ways. I forgive. But next time...
