This place is...interesting, in a good way. When I was told I was going out of town for a work…read moreevent in West Virginia and this was the name of the place. I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.

Randomly found this place and was so happy we did. Great ice cream selection and great service…read more Very cool place and plan to go back soon.

Naturally, you can choose your sweetness level. I had the mango milk tea with lychee popping boba and my husband had the taro milk tea with regular boba! If we come by this way again we will definitely have this again! Awesome customer service! Very friendly owners!

The cashier was also very patient, answering all of our questions about the milk teas, toppings, and yogurt drinks. After scanning the menu one more time, we ordered three drinks: * Mango Milk Tea with boba pearls (50% sugar) * Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba pearls (75% sugar) * Taro Milk Tea with boba pearls instead of coconut jelly/nata de coco (25% sugar) My daughter loved her mango drink -- perfectly sweetened to her taste and full of real mango chunks. My sons enjoyed the brown sugar milk tea, which reminded them of taho (a Filipino comfort food made of soft tofu, brown sugar syrup, and pearls) because of the syrup that coated the cup. I had the taro milk tea at 25% sugar, and let me just say... it was slurpy-licious! Next time, I'm definitely going to try a drink with ube (purple yam) and of course the Halo-Halo -- the ultimate Filipino shaved ice dessert layered with sweet ingredients which needs to be "mix mix" (halo-halo) before enjoying. Who would have thought red beans can be in a dessert?!?! It's a must try for sure! We'll definitely be back to Shake Your Boba -- simply decorated yet very clean. What makes it even more special is that it's Filipino-owned. Remember the older gentleman who greeted us? He turned out to be the father/father-in-law of the owners. Such a genuinely kind man -- we had a nice chat with him while waiting for our drinks.

They pulled a clump of bean sprouts out on to the side plate without checking them. A chunk of rancid bits in the middle rendered the whole pile a do not eat. The steamed shrimp dumplings had a curiously old shrimp taste as well. I've had these MANY times at other Asian joints. They were off. The orange chicken was a lot of breading, and very little chicken. Not what was pictured in their official photos. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was served 2/3 full and a bit too thick, but tasted good. Dining room was super clean. Service was earnest but occasionally a bit hard to get. South Charleston parking is pretty easy to find. Located a few hundred yards from a Dow Chemical plant, with a bunch of "No Photos" signs at the gates DOES give me this Erin Brockovitch-like pause about eating in this area. We don't make the water. We make the water glow so prettily. My hunger, though, after a couple of hours of snake-curved mountain roads, gets the better of me. The pho photos sell it too well. By Southern California, or Port Arthur Texas standards for a Vietnamese joint? A solid three star. Won't thrill ya, won't kill ya. For South Charleston, West Virginia? The long and the short of Pho Vinh Long? The best Asian food in town that I've tried on several passes through town.

You are sticking weaving back and forth between tv screens trying to figure out what they offer and it's kind of difficult. However once you figure out what they have to offer you'll see that there's something for probably everyone. They have hibachi, traditional Chinese, some type of pita thing, sushi, Ice cream and smoothies. On this particular visit I decided I wanted to have some of their traditional Chinese food from their buffet type area. But on arrival I found that what they had was dried up and didn't look good at all. It didn't appear they were interested in adding anything to the bar so I decided to go with the hibachi like usual. The hibachi is standard hibachi fare with meat, rice and vegetables. My star deduction comes from the fact they don't offer temp choices for the steak. You only get it well done and honestly it's not the greatest. However the chicken always makes up for it, they add some sort of garlic butter sauce to it that elevates it from standard grilled chicken. Once you get done eating try a smoothie, the strawberry smoothie is the best I've ever had at any place that sells them.

Disappointing Customer Service and an Unacceptable Experience at 1 2 3 Cafe…read more I left this 1 2 3 Cafe feeling disrespected, disappointed, and frustrated by the way a simple request for freshly prepared food was handled. What should have been an ordinary visit turned into an unnecessarily unpleasant experience that ultimately ended with me requesting a refund. While Tasha was working as the cashier, I looked through the sushi selection in the cooler. Honestly, the sushi did not look fresh or particularly appetizing to me, so I politely asked if I could have a fresh Pink Lady roll prepared. Her response was that if there was already one available in the cooler, they would refuse to make me anything fresh. That response immediately caught me off guard. I have visited numerous 1 2 3 Cafe locations, and in my experience, when a paying customer requests something to be made fresh, the employees accommodate that request, even if the item was just placed in the cooler. My understanding of 1 2 3 Cafe's policy is that customers can request freshly prepared food. I was not asking for anything unreasonable, nor was I trying to cause a problem. I simply wanted food that looked fresh and that I felt comfortable purchasing. I had already selected a crab rangoon, which happened to be the last one available. Rather than purchase the sushi that had raised concerns for me, I decided to request a freshly prepared crab rangoon instead. I completed my purchase and then asked Tasha for a business card. At that point, she offered to call the manager immediately so we could discuss the situation. I told her that was fine and that I could contact management later. She then assured me that my crab rangoon would be ready in just a few minutes. I took her at her word and waited. Tasha left the counter and went over to the area where customers wait for their food. I could see her speaking with one of the employees preparing food in the back. I continued standing there, expecting my order to be ready as I had been told. Minutes passed, and what should have been a quick request became an increasingly frustrating wait. After approximately 15 to 20 minutes, another employee finally approached me and asked if I was the person waiting for the crab rangoon. When I said yes, she told me I might as well take a seat because they were doing something in the back and it was going to be a while. At that point, I had waited long enough. I never received my freshly prepared crab rangoon. I ultimately had to request a refund because the wait had become unreasonable. Let that sink in for a moment. I went in as a paying customer, politely asked for freshly prepared food, made my purchase, was told my order would be ready in a few minutes, stood waiting for nearly 20 minutes, and walked away without the food I had requested. That is not the kind of customer experience I expect from an established business. What bothered me most was not simply the wait. It was the overall interaction and the impression it left. I was made to feel as though requesting fresh food was an inconvenience. Based on how things unfolded, I was left wondering whether my order was being delayed because the employees were unhappy with my request. I cannot speak to their intentions, but I can speak to how the situation made me feel as a customer. I have visited many 1 2 3 Cafe locations, and this is not the standard of service I have come to expect. When customers are spending their hard-earned money, they should be treated with courtesy and respect. Asking a reasonable question about food freshness should not result in an uncomfortable interaction or leave a customer wondering whether they are being deliberately put on the back burner. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate a corporate phone number to contact someone directly about this experience. For that reason, I am sharing my experience here on Yelp so that my concerns can be heard. I will also be making an effort to contact the manager of this particular 1 2 3 Cafe location and speak with them when they are on duty. I want to be clear: I am not asking for special treatment, and I am not writing this review simply because I had to wait. I am writing it because of how the situation was handled from beginning to end, the lack of timely communication, and the fact that I ultimately had to request a refund rather than receive the food I had paid for. Customer service is about more than taking someone's money at the register. It is about how you treat that person when they have a reasonable question, a request, or a concern. A business earns customer loyalty through consistency, professionalism, and respect, especially when a situation does not go exactly as planned. Unfortunately, this visit fell well short of those expectations. I hope management takes the time to look into what happened and ensures that future customers are treated with the courtesy and consideration they deserve.
