Haven't been here in forever!! Tried the beef laap and beef rad na and both... were soooo good! The…read morerad na was delicious! That gravy was sooo good, rich and flavorful, and I loved the big, wide noodles. They were also very generous with the beef, so you definitely get your money's worth when it comes to protein. The beef laap was just as amazing. Bold, savory flavors with that toasted rice powder giving it that signature nutty aroma and texture. I went with medium spice and added extra lime juice, which brought everything together perfectly. That balance of spice, tanginess, and toasted rice flavor was fire! Also love the dim vibes in the restaurant. Servers were great and staff at the front door were so welcoming and friendly as soon as you walk in.

Moldy tasting tap water served to the tables. A dish comes out with just meat, no veggies. Once you select a protein, they don't give any veggies with it. Super crowded and extremely loud at dinner time... Dark, too dark to read your menu. Extremely understaffed- 30 mins to take our order, one hour for our food to come. But the staff are trying and they are really nice. Flavor was good though! I don't know what to expect in Stockton, but this might be the best spot for Thai. I'll come back when it isn't this busy, and I'll be specific when I order. Now that I know! You can modify things probably.

This spot is located in a shopping plaza and there are plenty of parking. Inside is well organized and clean with plenty of dining tables and cool wall decors. There is a wall-mounted TV displaying the culture. Once inside, I was greeted and welcomed to pick any open table. There is a table-top digital touch pad which displays the full menu and browse through to select items to order including drinks except for water which can be requested from the server. Many different selections for ramen flavor and dim sum!! Placed an order the following: ***Wonton ramen with bok choy and egg, mild spiciness $15.99 - 5/5 ***Shrimp and pork shaomai $13.95 - 5/5 ***Green tea (cold) $3 - 4/5 The server also provided some water as requested. The wonton ramen was sooo good and delicious! And I love bok choy anytime! The shrimp and pork shaomai was very savory and tasty! The chili sauce could be a bit more spicy but it was still good! The green tea cold drink was very refreshing and soothing, especially on a hot day. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Great customer service and very respectful. Will be back again when in the area. I highly recommend!

I think they should give you an option to pay at the tablet too though, instead of going to the front counter. I imagine the lineup can still get long if it is busy. But it worked out for us on the day that my friend and I came. It did not take long after we placed our order for each of the items to come out. I appreciated that they brought the sweet item last as our "dessert". I am excited that 88Bao Bao has expanded their menu options too! For example, the cute panda custard bun is something I haven't tried before. It's not as cute as the pictures though, just keep in mind hahah. I have to say, though, a lot of the prices have gone up since the last time I was here; and between two people who had ordered about four or five dishes, two fruit drinks, with taxes and tip it up to $95! I think this place does well for their dumplings and xiao long bao. The wonton chili oil wasn't as flavorful or spicy as I am used to at other Chinese restaurants. For the small space, they certainly use it well with several tables available. They keep the dining area and the bathroom relatively clean as well. The restaurant was 3/4 full when we were there, but still not too noisy that you couldn't have conversations. The TV plays random YouTube music videos. Overall, a decent experience. I like that they had expanded their menu options and provide a tablet to order at the tables. I just hope that they can maintain the quality of their many items. It has gotten a little more expensive, understandably, so I don't imagine coming back too often. I always love their guava fruit drink though so I do recommend that.

Recommend dishes: Chicken Pad Thai, Gai Hima Phan…read more Bangkok Restaurant is a Stockton original, and their authentic, high-quality food has remained incredibly consistent over the years. It is clear that the owners take immense pride in what they do--they must be perfectionists. I pay close attention to the cleanliness of the tables, glassware, and silverware at every restaurant I dine at, and I even commented to my wife that everything here is cleaner than almost every other establishment we've patronized over the past year. I don't see how anyone could rate this business fewer than 4 stars, and the negative comments about pests are frankly absurd. Cockroaches are a widespread city-wide issue, but let me be absolutely clear: I have NEVER seen a single roach at Bangkok Restaurant. Given how meticulously clean their dining room and glassware are, any claims to the contrary are hard to believe. I would much rather dine in a clean, well-kept restaurant that focuses on food safety than one over-reliant on harsh chemical sprays that are known to cause cancer. Roaches are a NUISANCE pest that don't cause cancer and probably wouldn't even cause food poisoning if they were in cooked food. FUN FACT: The average person unknowingly consumes up to a couple of POUNDS of ground up insects in their food (fresh produce, chocolate, bread etc.) every year! I've dined at many Thai restaurants over the years, including highly rated spots in the Bay Area, but the simplicity, consistency, and authenticity of Bangkok Restaurant's dishes are far superior. If you want greasy, over-seasoned food or a "stylish and hip" storefront, this might not be the place for you. But if you want simple, affordable, fragrant dishes bursting with authentic flavor, look no further than Bangkok Restaurant at Hammer Lane and I-5.

Learned my lesson after selecting Bangkok Restaurant based on delivery service rating, which…read moresounded quite promising at 4.8. A quick check of reliable standby, Yelp, was lacking. My rating is 3.0 Good pricing, decent amount of food, typical selections, with sketchy area, especially after dark and uneven quality of dishes. My DH went with his typical Chicken Pad Thai. There's no place on the online ordering system, still furnished by the restaurant, for desired heat level, which is pretty important for Thai joints. I wrote in the Notes section "please make this dish mild, without peppers". For myself, the Pad See-Ew with pork. I always dream of getting char siu but dream on. Also selected the generic fried rice and a couple other dishes. Gung Pad Pak, shrimp sauteed with winter mix veggies and peas. The last item was Pad Ke Nieu, with green peppers and tomatoes and some very big and soggy pieces of bok choy. The best dish was the sauteed shrimp and veggies, which all tasted fresh. The worst was the veggie and beef. About half pound dried out rice noodles, possibly not rehydrated long enough in water beforehand. I found a teaspoon's worth of tiny beef fragments. The Pad Thai was okay but the chicken was rooster-tough and dry. The included chopped Thai peppers had my poor honey stop eating after only a few bites. The Pad See-Ew had plenty of small pieces of thin, dry and tasteless pork, which had a very unusual grain, like wood burls. Veggie and noodle ratio fine but this dishes badly needed sauce. About 1 1/2 teaspoons of those firey little peppers in mine, which I also ordered mild. No issues with the fried rice and I did really enjoy my refreshing Jackfruit milkshake. The spot is in a strip mall, with lots of unhoused folks wandering around and possibly making some customers uncomfortable. The bare bones decor shows a business trying to make do but I hope they have a heart and share some of their end of evening leftovers with those less fortunate, instead of just throwing that away.
