Based on the delicious smoothies and kind service I've experienced here, I have no idea why this place doesn't have an average of 4-5 stars. They make healthy smoothies with real ingredients. If you're into that. I love the Skinny Minny and would love to rename it Green Balance. The açaí bowl tasted good, but looked a little sad. The chia pudding, though, was really the star! They had these plastic cups of soaked chia seeds for $5 in the fridge, and I wasn't very hungry so that's what I thought I was getting. Turns out after you purchase it, they top it with fresh bananas, cinnamon, almonds, and honey! Ok yes, it was in the description. But I just figured they blended all that into the cup already. I finished the whole thing even though I couldn't eat much! They did forget about my friend's order, so we waited a bit longer than usual. But no harm done. I was there just a few minutes ago on 9/24/19 and ordered the almond butter açai bowl just because it did not have banana. My bowl came and here it is, banana. I Nicely double check if it was the almond butter bowl and she told me yes, I said but it has banana. I specifically order because there is no banana on the description. With the nastiest attitude she told me all our bowl had banana, this is how it is. I said what if I am allergic, it should be put in the decriptionlike for all other açai bowls? I've been ordering from this place for a year now and I've had nothing but greats things to say up until today. I preordered breakfast on seamless which usually is ready before the pickup time and went to pick it up on my way to work. I told the girl behind the juice bar about the order and it wasn't ready, not that big of a deal seeing as I was early. Instead of her being polite and making the order she then walks away from me to the back without saying anything for about 5 minutes leaving someone who barely speaks English attempting to assist me and in turn barking at me. She then comes out and takes the customer behind me and speaks about me to the other person at the counter. I love the açaí bowls from me, I love and work about two blocks away so I'm constantly coming here for lunch. I took away a Star because when I order through seamless the wait is truly more than a hour. I understand during certain hours they're busy but I have to order about an hour and a half before lunch so I know I get it intime! The place is pricey for food, but the açaí are actually cheaper than most açaí places in Astoria, which are few. Go in person you'd probably like it more. The staff are the same two lady's during the week and different on the weekend. Sometimes they're a bit rude but I get that it must be the lunch rush! Anyway! I recommend that açaí verde !
