We got design boards that didn't reflect our significant input, a flow that ultimately failed on our wedding day, and we ended up quoting and negotiating the transportation ourselves. She provided some good vendor recommendations but also a very disappointing one. Despite paying extra for her transportation services, after 6 months and multiple requests, she still didn't get updated quotes from the preferred vendor discussed in our first meeting- in the last month we finally had to call, quote and negotiate the transportation ourselves. And, despite providing her with shuttle times, she still communicated this incorrectly, confusing our vendor and costing us more! With floral costs de-emphasized in our budget since our first meeting, she dropped a $10K floral proposal on us at 11:43am Dec23rd, convenient since she was out of office starting at noon for the next 10 days. We respected her family time and didn't contact her, but we had so many questions. It was very stressful. At our design trial 2 weeks out, the linens from her recommended vendor weren't correct. It took her 5 days to send an email to the vendor to address it, losing precious time to fix the issue or an opportunity to pick out a backup, if needed. I was stressed unnecessarily with something that a coordinator is supposed to do. Our vendors provided a draft schedule a month in advance, but it was dropped on us too late to work with her and our vendors to make needed adjustments, and ultimately she failed to give everyone a schedule - a key task for a day-of coordinator. On wedding day, it showed. When her highly recommended hair/makeup vendor was running hours late, Stephanie was a ghost, she didn't help manage her vendor or find a fix - but instead gave my mother a countdown (as if my mother worked for her!?) when she should have been in the room. Her absence and pressure on my mother stressed out a situation that resulted in my hair being ruined - a stringy mess, not big princess Kate curls. We lost our first-look and wedding party picture time. Guests were congregated in our picture area - a good coordinator would have been there to move them along to the shuttles - she was a ghost and I lost my bridal reveal moment. At the church, she didn't even have the "day of kit." She didn't have anything for me to touch myself up before we were announced in the ballroom. When I reached out in the days after the wedding to express disappointment and ask a question about the transportation overage costs, she never even responded - let alone apologize or take any responsibility. In a word, unprofessional. The planning snafus wouldn't matter if the wedding day went well. In hindsight, it shows a pattern of everything appearing to be polished on the surface with no true follow through behind it. I trusted Stephanie with the biggest day of my life and I feel completely betrayed.

My advice to any couple starting their wedding planning journey would be to start with selecting your wedding planner and I could not sing my praises highly enough for the Blue Ribbon Weddings team. Trusting your vendors is incredibly important and investing in those you trust will make all the difference. When you're in the hands of Katie and her team you will have nothing to fret from the get-go. I thank my lucky stars that I had heard about Katie and her team through the grapevine and knew that if we needed anything for our wedding day, it was her as our planner. Many people speak highly of her team's organization, communication, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, eye for design, and the list goes on. I had the pleasure of working most closely with Katie and Em - and boy, was everyone right. Not only did they live up to these qualities, Katie and Em surpassed their shining reputation by leaps and bounds. By the time our wedding day came along, we knew if anything unpreventable happened or if even the tiniest detail was slightly askew, Katie and Em would be there to make things right or even better than we planned for. Over our almost two year engagement, they stayed engaged with me, learning as much as possible about my now-husband and I to ensure our day was personalized to our style, preferences, and priorities. I am a perfectionist and was thinking about small details very early on - from the style and design of reserved seating signs to fitting many specific moments into our timeline (like hiding with my maid of honor before the ceremony for a few deep breaths, pouring champagne into a champagne tower for the perfect photo-op, or having a moment to sneak away and make an entrance into the cocktail hour). Not a single detail was missed and she heard every single one of our wishes with eagerness to make our day our dream come true. I cannot fail to mention how Katie and Em circled a coffee table with countless shades of blush, ivory, and sand-colored linens seeing how the fabrics looked in different light and from different angles. I laugh at this memory a bit now but cherish how they took the task just as seriously as I did because they knew how important a small detail like this was to me. Beyond wedding planning checklists, Katie went above and beyond in many other ways that we began to call her our fairy godmother. From ensuring I had a pair of sweatpants to hide from the drizzling rain after my spray tan, providing the best advise on wedding etiquette, to celebrating a job over and move states away during the planning process, Katie knows how to make every moment matter, is there by your side, and even 10 steps ahead. I found myself feeling as though I gained friends in the process, not just a husband. After accepting a job in another state, many people asked how we would plan our wedding from afar. Thankfully, this was not a worry for us. I did not carry a single doubt that Katie and Em would ensure the process was seamless - and our in-person planning turned virtual (pre-COVID) and they handled the new situation with ease and never missed a beat. While I spent many hours dreaming up details I wanted to personalized and focusing on personal items, Katie and Em elevated our vision and made it more than we could ever dream up. I confidently tell everyone I know (and even those that I don't - haha) that choosing Blue Ribbon Weddings would be the best decision they could make for their wedding planning process. Being able to peacefully sleep the night before our wedding was never something I had to worry about until I laid in bed the evening before - I have Katie and Em to thank for this and every single teensy tiny detail that was perfectly put in place for us. I cannot recommend Blue Ribbon Weddings enough. I would choose to work with them a million times again with them at the tip-top of our priority list.

My sister chose this venue for one of the most important days of her life, and unfortunately, it turned into one disappointment after another. The bridal suite was completely unacceptable. It was tiny, there were spiders on the ceiling, water was actively leaking from the ceiling into a bucket, and there wasn't even a private restroom for the bride and bridal party. From the beginning, we were told that everything would be run on "military time" and there would be no flexibility whatsoever. We were given virtually no opportunity to make adjustments or personalize the schedule to fit the bride and groom's wishes. The event coordinator's approach was cold, controlling, and unnecessarily confrontational, making everyone feel uncomfortable rather than supported. The event coordinator was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the entire planning process and on the wedding day. Instead of helping to make the day special, she seemed determined to make everything more difficult. The food was poor quality and disappointing. Guests were not served drinks at their tables and instead had to get them from the bar themselves. There wasn't even water or soft drinks available on the tables, which is a basic expectation at a wedding reception. We specifically asked in advance whether a projector was available and were assured that it was. Upon arrival, we were first told there wasn't one. After we discovered that a projector actually existed, we were informed that it would cost an additional $200 just to use it for a four-minute slideshow. This felt misleading and completely unreasonable. To make matters even worse, a staff member scolded my two-year-old daughter because she wasn't standing in line to get fruit. Speaking to a toddler that way was completely unacceptable. Later in the evening, we wanted to take a quick photo with sparklers. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the event coordinator yelled directly at a 65-year-old guest in front of everyone. There was absolutely no reason to speak to anyone that way, especially at a wedding celebration. The final incident was beyond belief. We had purchased and brought our own alcohol to the wedding. At the end of the night, the venue refused to let us take home the unopened bottles that we had paid for ourselves. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, they called the police and accused us of trespassing. Thankfully, the responding officers quickly recognized how unreasonable the situation was and made sure our property was returned to us. No family should have to deal with this level of disrespect, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior on a wedding day. A wedding venue should help create lasting memories for the right reasons--not become the source of stress, embarrassment, and conflict. Based on our experience, I strongly advise anyone considering The Garden Ballroom to think twice before booking this venue. We would never recommend it. There was only 3 iced coffees for 75 people

I set up an appointment to meet with her to be a day of coordinator. During our meeting I realized she could actually save me money if I hired her as my full wedding planner. Angela has great relations with vendors all over town; she paid for her services with the savings on the first few vendors. Even if Angela didn't know a vendor, that didn't mean that she wasn't going to reach out to them and negotiate for me. The thing that I liked most about Angela was that she responded almost immediately when I text, emailed, or called; this is a quality that very few vendors in this industry share! She is extremely detail oriented and knows how to stay on task. Angela was able to keep us on time the entire day of our event. She setup the reception and ceremony venues, dealt with all the vendors, and still made sure we weren't late for pictures. My family is a bit of a handful, that may be a slightly under embellished statement, and Angela saw the wrath of them. She handled herself with great class and personal restraint and kept doing her job keeping us on track and everything running smoothly. She stopped what she was doing to fix my dress so I didn't fall on my face in our first dance, and she stayed with us the entire night to pack up everything neatly for me. I cannot begin to rave enough praises about Angela. This is an easy choice ladies, I am as detail oriented and some might say anal as people get, and I could not have been happier with anyone else to help plan my wedding. I would/will recommend Angela to anyone planning a wedding or any event that they want to run smoothly and not have to worry themselves all about the details.
