My sons (age 14 and 11) started taking classes and training at Fusion Combat Training Center over a year ago. We were looking for a dojo/studio that would teach self-defense with discipline and an emphasis on conflict avoidance. We were interested in multiple disciplines including grappling and striking so they would be best able to defend themselves in different situations. We looked at a number of other studios, including ones with multiple locations. Fusion Combat Training Center stood out above the rest with its small class sizes, and complete individual attention. From the beginning, coach Jesse Garcia involved parents in the training, with a focus on safety and technique. Each class includes a brief conversation emphasizing an aspect of character or responsibility. The small class sizes allow for individual instruction that enables kids to progress quickly with proper technique. The superb learning environment fosters both confidence in the students and healthy awareness of their peers. Although the gym does not have a flashy sign or large façade (it is found in the basement along with a yoga studio and gym), it is truly a great find! Highly recommend! read more

I have just a bit of experience with kickboxing, mma, bjj, and martial arts in general. So when I saw that this school uses quite a few styles specifically for self-defense, it peaked my interest. They primarily teach israeli krav maga, brazilian jiu jitsu, and muay thai. Since those last two tend to be sport specific, I was wondering how it would be combined with krav maga. That first striking based class was fantastic. The coach is clearly an experienced instructor. He knows how to communicate and impart knowledge. In spite of the class size, you get good, personal, positive feedback. He is constantly encouraging you. I just started my two week trial, but I'm super happy with the training here. The self defense classes are high quality, professional, and well planned. They have a well thought out system of teaching. It's a great fitness workout too which makes it a good alternative to sports clubs and gyms. This may be one of the top martial arts schools in Denver. read more

I work in Denver often and when I am there, I always train at Fusion Combat. It is a great way to burn a lot of calories and to learn some serious self defense. I like it because it is not just one type of fighting style, it's the best and most practical methods from several fighting styles. They take the time to make sure you have the form down correctly and then ramp it up to normal speed. The great thing is that you use pads and practice against other students. This is done in a safe and methodical manner so nobody gets hurt or feels like they are outside their comfort zone. This is good because you get used to interacting with real opponents quickly. So you are not shocked if you have to defend yourself for real. I highly recommend this program to men and women of all ages. read more

Great gym to learn or continue to improve your self defense and mixed martial arts knowledge. There is a great mix of skill levels, from beginner to advanced, making it a great place to train independent of any level of prior experience. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and personable and cultivate a team-like atmosphere that makes coming to class very fun. The sessions combine practical self-defense concepts with a great cardiovascular workout. In addition, this is a great way to improve your overall coordination and core strength. I trained here for 3 months before moving out of the Denver area. I had no previous experience with mixed martial arts or self defense. I highly recommend this gym to anyone! read more

This is a very welcoming place. I went in with hesitation due to not being in great shape. Jessie took the time to talk me through all phases and I had my first class. I did not feel like the newbie and was treated with respect. I tried other martial arts facilities before, but day 1 I was paired with guys with much higher ranking and felt like a punching bag. This place starts everyone at the beginning and teaches step by step. Questions can be asked and no one leaves feeling embarrassed. For those who want to take it to the next level there are many classes and opportunities to furthur your education. Flexible days and class times and the fees are easy. I recently moved to Denver and was looking for some activities. I didn't have any martial arts experience, but I'd been wanting to take self defense classes for quite some time. I had never even heard of krav maga. So, I was a bit nervous about trying it out. The staff at Fusion Combat is amazing. They do a great job explaining how the tactics keep you safe in real life. I especially enjoy the kickboxing & muay thai based concepts. I haven't tried out the jiu jitsu classes yet. But I'm looking forward to the new challenge. read more

Love the training and education that I have learned from these guys, specifically Ben. I have enjoyed kickboxing for years and was so glad I found these guys. The classes really challenge me both physically and mentally. The kickboxing classes are my personal favorite, but the Krav Maga classes have taught me so much in regards to self defense. By far, the best in every way. The program is amazingly well-designed, Jessie is a great instructor and the vibe is awesome. Serious training that is also a ton of fun. Part of that is the community. People are friendly, welcoming and always helpful. There is a special focus on safety, from the classes themselves to the spotless space. All pretty unique vs the other Krav Maga schools I checked. My 10 y/o daughter absolutely loves her self defense/combat training at Fusion. The atmosphere is relaxed, coaches Jesse and Pedro are very professional, not intimidating, have fun with the kids and know how to keep them engaged. We tried other self defense centers, but in terms of curriculum and approach only Fusion Combat was the right one for us. Convenient location in DTC is a bonus. Still a great community for krav maga, jiu jitsu, & muay thai. The self defense classes make for a great kickboxing and fitness workout. Some of the partnerships have changed. They've partnered with a personal training facility and physical therapy specialist as well. It's a good alternative to gyms and sports clubs in Denver. They are especially good at working with women and children. Great for kids and adults. read more

I have trained Krav in another state and tried a few out once my wife and I relocated to Denver. The important thing for me was that she had a safe and welcoming place to learn. I have dabbled in several different styles of martial arts, but Fusion Combat has definitely been my best experience.
