This place checkmarks all the boxes that I'm looking for when joining a striking gym: 1. Experienced coach(es) that are current or former amateur/professional fighters. 2. A good mix of different skill levels from students. 3. Facilities are that well-kept. 4. Encouraged sparring. Everyone gets a killer cardio workout and learns techniques that are tailored for Muay Thai or real-life self-defense (there's a reason why Muay Thai is considered one of the best bases for MMA striking). The best part of this gym is truly in the diverse experience level of students. I've trained for a while, but my cardio and clinch work are abysmal, and I've never seen anything but smiles and encouragement from everyone. There is no "UFC Bro" culture here -- everyone is disarmingly welcome and supportive. There's no ego either. People show up and work hard with their fellow teammates and there's a real sense of community here. I'd strongly recommend giving it a shot if you're interested in the sport of Muay Thai on a competitive level, just trying to lose pounds and get fit, or even just learning self-defense for those real world situations.

She is new to fitness, so we have been working out together as friends. Two men approached us on the gym floor and asked if I was a trainer. My friend was at the cable machine while I stood next to her with my laptop for work. They did not introduce themselves, so we did not know who they were or why they were questioning us. I clearly explained that she is my longtime friend, that we work out together, and that I am not a trainer or training her. I later learned the men were co-owners, Sam and Chris. Chris became extremely aggressive when he seemed dissatisfied with my answer. I made a flippant remark that he could see a photo of us as children because I was trying to convey that we have known each other for decades and she is not my client. Feeling threatened, I said, "This is a bit much, you guys." Chris responded, "You come into MY gym and say I am a bit much!" I was still unaware he was an owner and assumed he was a trainer. He then told Sam, "You deal with this!" and stormed away. Sam explained that they were co-owners. I understand gym policies regarding outside training and have no issue being asked about them. I repeatedly explained that I am not training anyone. However, once I answered, I should not have been verbally berated or aggressively confronted. I had been an RMFF member for over a year and a half; my partner was a member, and I have regularly recommended this gym. Until this incident, I had only positive experiences with the staff. I genuinely felt unsafe during my interaction with Chris and would not feel comfortable being around him again, as he verbally berates women in public. To make matters worse, after I emailed the gym that same day expressing my concerns, I received no apology or explanation - only a response stating that my membership had been terminated.

I have found a new Muay Thai gym that I am very happy with, and that has also inspired me to update my review. My review for the coaches is specifically for the Adult Muay Thai program. Reasons for Stars: Front Desk: The front desk staff member is amazing. She will definitely make you smile no matter what. Prices: They are cheaper than most other gyms, especially if you start taking private classes. Coaches that are not mentioned below: They have coaches that are great, funny, and helpful and will give you a good workout. Members: The members that go there are pretty great and fun to talk to. No one is there to win a belt and they are very respectful fighters. I've been to other gyms where I have been terrified to spar people or partner with someone because I am worried that they will knock me out. No big egos here, except maybe some of the coaches. Reasons for Lost stars: Coaches: There are certain coaches there that have very bad attitudes. They are either in a bad mood and like to show it or just feel like insulting you for no reason. There is A LOT I can say about certain coaches, but I won't go on for sake of length. There are other coaches that are very talented in Muay Thai fighting, but as instructors, talk WAY too much and don't let you actually get a work out because they spend the whole time talking. Classes and class schedules: The advanced class is from 7-8:30 which is kinda late for someone that works really early in the morning. There are also a lot of beginners that jump in the advanced class that shouldn't be there. It happens a lot. I can't blame them though because the only other class in the evening is at 5:00 which is the beginner and its hard to get to. They also don't do enough sparring in my opinion. They said they were going to start sparring classes on Thursday nights but that didn't seem to happen. Cancellation: I got charged a 1 month cancelation fee instead of just having a membership for an extra 30 day once I gave notice. The owner said "The 30 day notice a.k.a. A one month cancellation fee is always scheduled for the day the account officially closes" and tried to argue that the cancelation fee and the 30 day notice are the same exact thing... In my history at every single gym I've ever been to, you give a 30 day notice, and you either roll over to another pay period but during that 30 days you have access to the gym. A 30 day notice and a cancellation fee are NOT the same. So expect a fee when you cancel, not just giving a notice...If you want the words exactly from their contract it says "If you have fulfilled the "initial period" of your membership contract, and your membership is currently month-to-month, only a 30 days notice applies as a membership cancellation (one month cancellation)." So take the BS statement with a grain of salt as well... If they would have told me flat out that I would have had a cancellation fee, and not try to be sneaky with their wording then I wouldn't have been as upset. Reasons I've outgrown: I don't think this gym does enough sparring. I also don't think there are enough women at the gym to spar with. The master coach is not in town a lot so its hard to get a fight if you are not one of the coaches. Personally, I think it's a good starter gym, but if you want to grow beyond that I am not really sure if its possible. But who knows. To each their own.

This Jiu Jitsu gym has been giving me a positive experience so far in Colorado. Coach Tim, Coach Junior, and the people I met so far and everyone who trains here are incredible. Coach John (who teaches afternoon classes) is one of the reasons I usually do 2-a-days and not miss afternoon classes. I get to see his approach on certain things while also learning from the other coaches in the morning and night classes. ~watch out for that double arm bar~

I did a drop in while visiting my buddy and love the whole set up of this place. The outside may not scream fitness as you walk by but as you enter you are welcome with an open floor plan to weights, racks, stretch space, and many more things. Met one of the trainers here, super nice and welcoming (unfortunately I forgot her name) and then after signing my waiver I got to my work out and easily found everything. Its really organized here.
