First off their office manager was a complete nightmare She was rude condescending and just plain nasty and unprofessional I took 2 cats there on 2 different occasions I dealt with their "Cat Vet"a Dr. Mike I said that the cats breath stunk his teeth were brown and he clearly needed a dental He said it was just "Kitty Breath" This was an FIV+ cat and dental issues are very common Fast forward a few months I took him somewhere else and the vet agreed that his teeth were rotten and needed them all pulled except the canines I took another to Dr.Mike with a history of Chronic FIC(cystitis) He was having a major flare and was running to the litter box repeatedly and passing small amounts of blood I don't think he did much except send us home with some Onsior for 3 days which clearly did not do anything Took him to another vet where he was prescribed Prozac which proved to be a lifesaver along with Buphenorphine a powerful pain med That fixed him up and he has been pretty much free of flares for many years on the Prozac. I have also noticed quite the turnover in vets over the past few years Never ever a good sign I found the owner to also be quite rude and arrogant when I voiced my complaints Rather then take them seriously he tried to somehow put the blame on me??? Stay away from this place if you want quality vet care and people that value your opinion as a paying customer read more

Dr. Damian and Jayme came to our home today to euthanize our sweet lab who was suffering with lymphoma. They were so compassionate and kind and although they had just met us, they treated us like we were patients all of our dog's life. They were so patient and made sure our dog was as comfortable as possible before crossing over. I can't say enough good things about our experience. This is such a great service to pet owners. Dr Dave comes right to the house. He's very kind and considerate of the owners. Today we had our dear dog,Link, put down. Dr Dave arrived on time and gave us plenty to time to do paperwork, etc. (He takes credit card). We went out in the yard; Dr Dave gave Link a sedative that made him fall asleep completely before he got the final dose. It was so comforting and peaceful to be able to have the whole family around to say goodbye. I can't say enough good things about Dr Dave and the service he provides. Sometimes you have to share the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with others. Furry Friends mobile vet is that pot of gold. We have a 12-year-old shih Tzu with squamous cell carcinoma and does not want to be groomed. When you try and groom her she turns into a gargoyle. Due to her age and oral mouth cancer any procedures she needs she is a high risk patient and would have two paws on the rainbow bridge. No other vet in the brick area would even see her to take care of her. Yet furry friends did take the high risk to care for our Mia. After the procedure I was called immediately and twice after the procedure for 2 days I was called by furry friends to see how Mia was doing trust talk to Dave and his associates as you would trust your children to a pediatrician. Dr Dave and Dr Damian and I believe Nicole took care of our Mia and sent her back to us as though she was 5 years younger. They did The grooming procedure they removed five loose teeth and gave her a mild short-term sedation all interests a couple of hour counting recovery. She came back to us 5 years younger bounding and bouncing and leaping like a gazelle. No words can express our gratitude and sincerest appreciation for their professionalism and love of our pets. So I'll just say thank you and we have taken two of her paws off the rainbow bridge for now. You guys did everything with love in your heart and at half the price as every other Vet Hospital in the Brick area quoted, and we thank you. We (my wife and I) made a same day appointment with Furry Friends as our cat was quite sick, and we felt we needed to get her seen to fast. We had never been to Furry Friends before, and we didn't already have a regular vet. We decided to give them a try based on the ratings we had read, and the fact they were local to us. For starters, the staff were incredibly helpful, and booked us an appointment with Dr. Mike. All I can say is, I wish ALL doctors were like Dr. Mike! Dr. Mike took the time to really listen to us, and get all the facts on the symptoms. He was also very thorough in explaining to us what was being done every step of the way, including an exact itemization of the cost, thus eliminating any "surprises." Dr. Mike followed up with a call as he said he would, to give us the results on the blood work and other processes done. Both my wife and I agreed, this might have been the best doctor we have ever dealt with... period! And again, the staff, which includes the front desk and technicians, were great, making the total overall experience a big 5 stars in our book! For anyone out there in the Brick/Lakewood/Toms River area looking for a veterinary provider, I'd say give Furry Friends a try. They also have a mobile vet service which we haven't used, but my guess is they'd be excellent as well. read more

Absolutely fantastic!!! We are unable to get our dog in the car any longer so we called David Weiss, RPh DVM. He and his assistant Donna were fantastic. Very professional and very reasonable prices. They came into our home and took care of all of our dogs needs. They gave us some great advise on minor issues that we can do on our own to care for our dog. Saves us lots of money and Vet visits. They treated our dog's ear infection, gave him a full exam, rabies shot, steroid shot and a bunch of other stuff for a lot less than the vet office we used to go to. read more

We had never taken our cat to a vet, since we rescued her 16 years ago. She was afraid of everyone but me, and getting her to a vet was never an option. When we realized she was sick last month, we called Furry Friends and got an appt for the next day. The vet and her assistant were very caring and compassionate and listened to us explain all of her symptoms. They did blood work, but unfortunately, there was nothing else they could do for her. They helped us through this difficult decision and didn't rush us or push us to do anything. They were as nice as can be for such a sad sad day for us. I thank them for that. Have used Furry Friends before with the most pleasant experience from start to finish. Unfortunately, this time , when calling to schedule a euthanasia for my 14 year old yellow lab, the new experience was quite a contrast from the one before. Horribly Cold, insensitive person with a "you're bothering me" attitude answered the phone. Her job should've been the easiest, since I called with all our information prior to setting the date. Preliminary info had been given prior to "Barbara". Everything except the date. Well that was a waste of time! She acted like they had nothing. Adding to my already stressed out broken hearten mood- she proceeded to ARGUE with me about what information I had and had not given. I couldn't believe the NERVE of someone working in this type of business doing this to someone having to call to put "a family member" pet down. I was LIVID! I don't usually lose my temper- but she kept pushing. Guess she wasn't trained in customer service 101 -you do not argue with customers-the customer is always right even when/if the customer is wrong- which in this case I wasn't. I explained to "Barbara" whom I first spoke with on the first phone call to them all the details and that we wanted a private cremation and to pick up the remains in the wood box like our last pet they serviced. Well I guess she was filing her nails or drinking coffee or doing something else while I was talking to her because they didn't have that information, then basically called me a liar when I insisted I did. I requested a call from the owner Dr. David Weiss I don't expect her to tell him or give him my message which is why I reached out to him in other ways. It is in my opinion that in this type of business-don't hire Dollar Store employees for a Neiman Marcus business. ( I was quoted $525) Hopefully Dr. Weiss will get rid of this rotten apple before it spoils the whole bunch. I'm APPALLED! read more

Most compassionate vets I've ever known. After my beautiful Golden Retriever, fell ill and could no longer walk, I called over 10 Vets, to come to my girls aid. I got shut down by all I called stating, they were too busy that day. I called Furry Friends, they also were totally booked taking care of others loving pets. I recalled Furry Friends, I broke down crying to Donna the vet asst. and said my girl Sandy, needs someone what am I to do? She contacted Dr. Katy, and with Gods grace , Dr. Katy came to my home squeezing Sandy in and tried to help her in every way she could. The next day, was a sad day Sandy, lost her fight with loss of mobility and needed to be euthanized. Dr. Katy, came with her asst. Randi, showing the most compassion any human and canine can receive. Dr. Katy, gave Sandy , the most peaceful, and comforting crossing to the Rainbow Bridge allowing her to be in her home with me loving her up to the last breath. I was very upset with the experience we had with Furry Friends. We had to put our 15 yr old golden doodle down. (Our vet was out of town for a couple of weeks.) They were recommended to us and maybe the other vets who work at Furry Friends are good but our one time experience was horrific. The woman vet was very robotic. She must of said 100 times I'm sorry I'm sure he (our dog) was suffering. She came in and then proceeded to ask for payment, asked if he had bitten anyone in the last 2 weeks and had me sign and then run my credit card. I realize I wasn't an established customer of theirs and maybe they didn't want to send me a bill but maybe you could have taken my credit card the day before and run it the day you have the appointment at our home and not as my dog was lying there on the kitchen floor. There was No compassion for us She also said we were the first of 3 appointments she had that day. It was already a very emotional day and the experience we had with Furry Friends as I said horrific. I needed a traveling vet. to put my dog down. I read that Dr. Dave was compassionate with this kind of service and his prices were reasonable. I called him and he come over and seemed to care about my emotions and my dog's pain level. While perpairing the injections, I told him of my bad experiences I've had with the high cost of local vets in years past and he, told me that he wanted $250 to do what the other local vet $180. In his price list, he shows $50 for a house call, and $25 a shot. My dog was to get two shots, so I expected $100 bill, boy was I blown away by the $150 convenience fee.
