We bought our sectional here about six months ago (not even a year). The workers we extremely friendly and helpful and put our fears to rest (since we were horribly frightened about anything we bought not fitting in our small apartment). The shopping experience was great. However, after six months a support beam broke in half. Naturally we called them to see about fixing it since it is literally unusable in its current state. That is where our troubles started. I am not the one who called, my mother did. The woman was not outwardly rude but rather...defensive. Before my mother could even get the words out of her mouth about the problem, the woman had already ran the lines of "well...the warranty is up". Her tone was also rather unsettling and distasteful for a professional customer service setting. She said it was a 90-day warranty. We know we were not offered any other option (otherwise we would've paid extra to get a longer warranty because this was a really really expensive couch) and we were not ever even told that it was a 90-day warranty otherwise we would've thought twice about getting it (because seriously, it's a couch. It should last for years...especially a good quality one). All that was ever even vaguely mentioned was a stain protection plan (and even that was just in passing). Then the woman had the nerve to say "well...you signed off on it when it was delivered". Of course we did! It looked great from what we could tell and it didn't arrive broken. It broke later. So that wasn't even valid to the issue at hand. But even if it was...were we supposed to flip the couch upside down and rip off the bottom lining and examine it with a microscope? A support beam broke (which shouldn't even happen in the first couple years) it wasn't even any of the complicated electoral mechanisms within the sectional...just a beam...one beam...but it was the support beam and we wanted to fix it because you can't use it otherwise. We were never looking for a handout nor were it ever our intention to try and stiff their store out of money. We just wanted it FIXED. That's it. We never asked them to replace even a single piece of the sectional or give us a refund of any kind. That's not what we wanted. We liked our couch. We still like our couch. But they made my mother feel like SHE had done something wrong. That this was her fault and she got what was coming to her. So now we're stuck with a broken couch, no money to buy a new one, and are made out to be the bad guys... read more
