The Google reviews are a scam; the business asks you to submit a 5 Star review and they have a third party software filter and post them.

He explained he can extend the discounted price because the matress my friend was interested in was discontinued, they have them in the warehouse to sell, and they can be flexible in price. We walked out satisfied. About a week later, the matress was delivered to my friend. She took off the plastic cover only to find out that this store delivered a used mattress or floor model with blood and stains all over it. Never ever did Tommy explain that the discounted price for the matress was only for a used or floor model matress. In fact, prior to completing the purchase, I asked Tommy where the matress will come from and he explained his warehouse and that they own back stock of the discontinued model. This store tried to deliver a used matress to my friend, but fortunately she is smarter than these swindlers. Ultimately, after a fight, metro matress agreed to pick the matress up and refund my friend what she paid for the matress. What a waste of time and energy! Of note, tommy insisted my friend post a review on Google and sent her a link to fill out a review prior to receiving delivery of the matress. She now cannot edit her review because tommy gets people to use the third party review platform that doesn't allow edits. So I wonder... How many of these five star reviews are accurate???? Don't find out for yourself, just avoid this store.

Making any kind of big purchase can be fraught and stressful. You want to get a good deal, but it's like the people selling the things are trying to make that as difficult as possible. But I'm happy to say that getting our mattress at Mattress Xpress was probably the most pleasant "big purchase" shopping experience I've had. The showroom is absolutely massive, and no one was hanging around, watching our every move as we tried them out. We did meet Karl, and he directed us to some we'd like and answered any questions we had, but he mostly let us figure it out for ourselves, which was great because we were probably there for 1.5 hours going back and forth between our favorites. We ended up getting a great deal on a king size latex mattress. And even though it was one of the most expensive mattresses in their store, it was sooo much less than what you'd pay for a latex mattress elsewhere, and even less than a mid-range mattress at a big name store. We used to come back from traveling wishing that our bed at home was as comfortable as one in a hotel. Now that's reversed and our bed at home is more comfortable than any hotel.

I have been royally ripped off today by this company…read more Last June I purchased a mattress and box spring; I exchanged only the mattress in July because it was uncomfortable (too firm), no problem. Two men arrived, they removed the mattress, they replaced it, the entire thing took five minutes or less. I then went back into the store last week because that mattress is also causing me issues. The salesperson did not have the different brand mattress in stock and recommended I go to Raymour and Flanigan, which I did immediately. There, I found a replacement mattress (memory foam). I then went back to Mattress Firm thinking they might have this in stock (since I wanted to keep the purchase "in house" with the least hassle for all parties.) The salesperson told me that is not in stock either and there's a wait list for October. That puts me outside my 120 day warranty, so I returned the mattress AND box spring (on paper) and somehow, despite the mathematics, I was shorted about $300. I still don't know how that happened but at this point I wasn't going to argue and she couldn't "fix" it because the "computer" calculated the return amount. I returned to Raymour and Flanigan and purchased another set: mattress and box spring. It was to be delivered tomorrow (Sunday, 8/22). Today (8/21) the Mattress Firm delivery personnel arrived to remove my mattress and box spring. The Superintendent of my building was with them when they got to my door. The younger delivery man stayed, the older went back downstairs with the Superintendent (I have no idea why). The younger man entered my apartment, took the mattress off the box spring, and put it against the pantry door in my living room (in the process he dislodged my security camera and broke it). I objected to this, as I now suspected it might be damaged this way and I knew they'd blame me, but he insisted it was OK and then went back into the bedroom (with me right behind him) and reached down for the box spring, in the process he TORE OFF THE TAGS ON THE BOX SPRING. The box spring was the original delivered to me in June and it had NOT BEEN TOUCHED until the man did it. The tags were lying on the floor. He took the box spring into the hall and leaned it against the wall, examined it intently, then told me THE TAGS WERE REMOVED and he COULD NOT TAKE IT BACK. HE had removed the tags, I had NO idea what he was talking about. We went back and forth this way for a couple of minutes, I called the store, the salesperson told him "If the tags are on the mattress, TAKE THE MATTRESS". At this point, I knew I was going to be STUCK WITH THE BOX SPRING but I thought well, I can cancel the box spring for the new mattress and use this one! His partner had reappeared and the partner said he had to GO BACK DOWNSTAIRS to call the "warehouse" because the tags were NOT ON THE BOX SPRING. Meanwhile, he had a cell phone in his hand, so now I know something is NOT RIGHT about this, correct? I had asked the younger man to step out of my apartment so he was standing in the hall in my doorway. When his partner left, he told me he had to bring the box spring back into the apartment. I KNEW there was a gimmick here and I said NO, first take the MATTRESS out, but he refused. He said he couldn't put the mattress on the "dirty rug in the hall" (even though the rug is not dirty and the box spring was already there!) He stepped toward me, I told him stay out of my apartment, take the mattress first, he stepped toward me again and used one of his hands to try to push me out of the way. At that point, I called the store again. End result: THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE MATTRESS BACK EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ALL ITS TAGES AND IS IN ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION, NO DAMAGE AT ALL, NOTHING. So now I spent $4300.00 for a mattress THEY REFUSE TO TAKE BACK because the BOX SPRING (sold SEPARATELY) doesn't have the right tag. I called the bank, they are disputing the entire charge, and I went to the police department and filed a report regarding what the younger man did. WHY DID I DO THAT? Because this company is RUTHLESS and who knows WHAT that guy was going to say! ANYTHING is possible. I did not press charges, YET. I find it particularly ODD and SIGNIFICANT that the box spring, original to the purchase in June, somehow INVALIDATES the warranty ON THE MATTRESS especially when the delivery person REMOVED THE TAGS IN MY SIGHT and then tried to push me out of his way so he could bring the box spring back into my apartment. I'm over 65 years old! WTH is wrong with these people? DO NOT SPEND MONEY IN THIS STORE.

It's apparent that they have a set format that they follow to ascertain what your needs and wants are in order to provide you with the various options to meet those needs. If our sales rep did not know the answer to a question, she promptly inquired with a supervisor to find the answer. We were encouraged to try various mattresses in the store that met our criteria to help us make a final decision. After returning home to take some final measurements, we returned the following day to make the purchase. As should be expected, an effort was made to up-sale certain accessories and services. None were unreasonable, however. A holiday sale was in progress, so we were able to obtain a free adjustable base, and a free mattress protector, in addition to the $500 reduction in the cost of the queen size mattress. While delivery to the front door would have been free, we opted for the platinum service at a sale price of $120, which included removal of the old mattress and base, and setup of the new adjustable base and mattress. The day before the agreed upon delivery date, a text message was sent to our cell phone identifying a 2-hour window within which we could expect delivery on the following day. On the delivery date, a text message and an email were received, within the 2-hour window, to let us know that the delivery truck was approximately 20 minutes away. The delivery staff were on time, efficient, and very careful with the removal of the old mattress and base, and the setup of the new base and mattress. Nothing negative to report.
