This place is the best. The owner and her family are very helpful, but not in an overwhelming way like a lot of furniture stores. We scored some beautiful pieces here for phenomenal prices. We drive 40 minutes to come here but it's worth the frequent haul. This is my new favorite place to find furniture in the valley. Can't wait to go back. In one week this location increased their prices 30 to 40 percent! Not so much of an outlet anymore. Last week I took a picture of an item that was priced $395 now it is $595! When I asked the sales associate about the dramatic increase she stated that there was a new owner and she was increasing the prices on all their items. read more

Superb taste in design and a first class service. I'd toured around several furniture stores and decided to return to this one to furnish my entire house. Sassy and I worked together for several hours to figure out the best arrangements of tables, chairs, sofas and more. My husband and I purchased a oversized gray chair from here. Prices were decent + most of the furniture seemed to be in good condition. Staff was helpful and nice- we had no complaints when we left. We have had the chair for about a month in our smaller living area, which has taken a bit to get "put together". Now that its done and we spend time in there we have noticed the chair smells badly of cat urine. The entire chair, every cushion. Mind you, we don't have a cat, never have had one. We live in a brand new house and none of our other new furniture from other stores has this smell. Just this chair. It is so bad, we can't even sit on it. I have tried to call the store but I haven't been able to get through to anyone. Hoping the business reads this review and helps us out. Not sure what to do- we are assuming the couch was ruined at the warehouse and we weren't able to smell it until we got it home. read more

We have been walking and shopping Potato Barn for over a decade. We own several Potato Barn furniture pieces and frequently still stop at the Furniture Brat & Outlet to see whats available. It is true that both stores have unique and interesting pieces. It's true that many pieces are a good value in terms of design, style and price. Unfortunately we recently discovered that the Furniture Brat & Outlet only pretends to discount their pieces. We took some pictures of "discounted" coffee tables we were considering including the price tags. We kept visiting every weekend for about 3 weeks to see what inventory changed and to keep an eye on the prices of the pieces we liked. One weekend I walked in and I was told right away that the pieces in the back were just discounted by 50%. I asked skeptically if they were actually 50% from the last time I was here and received a rather hesitant and unsure response. Upon walking into the back for the 7th time in just a few months there were discount tags, but none of the prices were any different from any other visits. In fact, furniture that had supposedly been extremely discounted was moved to it's own section, but with zero price change. Staff at this store will tell you that import taxes and the cost of doing business is why the prices go up and down all the time. However we also own several pieces of Pottery Barn furniture, which you can actually return if there is a problem, and the prices have been very stable for years. If this store would just keep the prices stable and not bother with pretend discounts I would continue to recommend it. As it is I would avoid this location and stick with more reputable retailers who will not try to convince you that fake discounts, poor workmanship and cracked boards are always just character. read more

I am giving this review 2 stars because I do love the style of the decor. I recently went to the Potato Barn to get some ideas and fell in love with so many things, but the prices are pretty high. On my way home I drive past the Outlet on the freeway and I was surprised and happy! But I didn't have time to stop. So about 2 weeks later I decide to drive all the way over from the west valley to see what this 'outlet' has to offer. First impressions were horrible. There is barely a sign, and you walk into the most unappealing 'storefront' ever. The sales associates were all friendly but this store is SO boring. Just a big room full of mainly couches and sideboards. That's it. Hardly anything else decor wise. And get this...the prices are the same as the regular Potato Barn store, with the added bonus of shopping in a cold and unappealing warehouse?! Why is this even here? I thought outlet usually meant markdowns and good deals? Not the case here. I won't be returning and was pretty disappointed I drove an hour just to come here. Oh well, at least now I know. read more

We have purchased lots of furniture here over the years and are big fans of the store. During our last visit the owners went above and beyond! Our car battery died in the parking lot and Mark and Sassy ran out immediately and helped jump our car in 115degree heat. Best customer service, beautiful furniture, and great prices. After 10 weeks of waiting for a sectional that was supposed to only take 6 weeks from another store ... only for them to deliver the wrong colored couch (ahhh!!!) Sassy & co saved the day!! She helped me pick out fabric, made sure it was in-stock and delivered my beautiful John Michaels Design sectional in record time. She saved my holiday and was so patient and kind. I hardly ever feel compelled to post complaints unless it was awful customer service and that was our experience today. Apparently the Potato Barn Outlet in Gilbert, Az spends all their time crafting and posting rules. Seriously, I have less rules posted in the kindergarten classroom I teach. Walking in, there were 2 crafted rule signs posted outside about no pets & no food/drinks amongst the other rules and reminders plastered to their windows about their policies. Ok, I'll still try this place out. However inside, we were NEVER greeted by employees but were greeted by more crafted signs with rules everywhere I looked! 'Keep your feet off the furniture.' 'We reserve the right to refuse service'...etc etc. Then, when an employee FINALLY came up to us or rather we approached her, she didn't say "hi/welcome/how can I help you?" She told us another... can you guess it... RULE! She told us they have a strict policy with children (our 3 year old daughter was walking with us browsing for nursery items while I waddled pregnant through the store with my husband). It's a good thing she foiled our excellent scheme to became rowdy and let our child run amok in the store! (big eyeroll) We turned around and promptly left. It's too bad they watched money walk out their door today because they probably needed to invest in more Crayola markers to keep up with their crafty rule signage literally littering the store. NEVER going back & NEVER recommending to our friends and family! So annoyed, I'll probably make an extra effort to tell our friends and family to never go because yes the last who spoke to us was THAT rude. read more

I bought a damaged piece - large heavy iron locker thing. Everything was great, BUT the delivery man, Juan, went way above the normal - moving it around in my garage to house, etc., 'm just sayin that his customer service was the BEST and he got right back to me - very polite. I have heard many good things about Potato Barn and found out that there was an outlet near me so I had to stop by! I put the address In my gps and was very confused when I got there. It looked like a corporate building and wasn't sure if I was In the right place. I saw other couples parking and going in so I ventured In also. We were created by a very friendly employee and I started looking around. It is not a showroom, more of a warehouse. Make sure to look closely and measure the pieces before purchasing because they do not accept returns and there were some pieces like a few of the tables I looked at that were clearly broken or unstable at the base, probably happened during shipment to main store. They had beautiful solid, sturdy pieces for China cabinets, tables, couches and bookshelves. I will definitely be stopping back in when we are ready to move in to our house! read more

Shopped there for the first time yesterday. Very unexpected. Unique items. Not for everyone's taste, but I liked what I saw. One of a kind, conversation pieces, large sofa groupings. Prices seemed very reasonable. Only four stars because they have a strict no return policy. Check things out well before purchasing. Only open Friday and Saturday for short hours. read more
