Porter Loring Mortuary North

Porter Loring Mortuary North

My sweet father passed away from COVID-related complications in mid-December, and throughout this…read moreheartbreaking situation, Porter Loring guided my mother and I every step of the way with professionalism and empathy. When my Dad unexpectedly passed, we were given two hours to contact a mortuary to collect him. The first mortuary that we had (admittedly) lighted vetted answered our panicked midnight call, only to tell us that they would not receive a COVID patient and did not have the capacity to embalm my Dad. After quickly scanning online, I reached out to Porter Loring North and was immediately connected with the kindest intake specialist. Within two hours we received a confirmation call that my Dad had been collected and was safely resting. The next morning at 9am, we spoke with our designated funeral director, Monica, who thoroughly outlined next steps, timelines, etc. Due to backlog, we had a bit of a wait until my Dad's actual service and burial, but throughout the process, Monica had the expertise, empathy, and patience of a saint. Communication was constant and accurate. Porter Loring seamlessly navigated me and my Mom through all aspects of the service, from submitting forms to life insurance agencies, ordering death certificates, assisting us in creating a slideshow, and arranging flower deliveries. My Mom and I were never pressured into any sales, and even our smallest requests were honored. There was last minute confusion (on my part) regarding a song to play during my Dad's service, and Monica stepped in to correct the issue personally. My Dad's service was absolutely flawless, and I believe Porter Loring gave my Father the respect and dignity we could only hope to provide for him. He was the best! TL;DR - If you experience the death of a loved one, this is the only mortuary in San Antonio that I would ever recommend utilizing their services.

From the very beginning, their team treated us with such compassion, patience, and respect. They made an incredibly painful process feel a little more manageable and handled everything with such dignity. They worked alongside Any Baby Can, a nonprofit organization in San Antonio that supports families experiencing the loss of a baby, and together they created a supportive and comforting experience during such a heartbreaking time. Every detail was handled thoughtfully, and we never felt rushed or overlooked. Their prices were one of the best we found in San Antonio as well. Their kindness and professionalism meant more to us than words can fully express. I am deeply grateful for the care they provided and would recommend them to any family needing support during such a difficult moment.

Express Casket - Solid Mahogany Caskets

Words alone could never express the gratitude I feel about Express Caskets. My Father passed on a…read moreThursday evening and I spent all day on that Friday at the funeral home and the Nursing Home picking up his items. I got home about 9 pm and started looking for caskets. I made many calls and either I had to wait until Monday to call back or I had to leave a message. You see, I didn't have a lot of time: the Funeral Home needed the casket by Tuesday. I found one company who could have shipped the casket in one day; but, I had to pay the shipping from the airport. Finally, after 1:00 am I reached Express Caskets. I spoke with a live person and was pleased with their selection, costs and delivery time. To make things even better, I was able to save a few dollars by making my payment directly to their account. Also, they were able to not only deliver by Tuesday, they delivered earlier than promised. I was finalizing the arrangements and went downstairs to wait when I was advised that the casket arrived an hour ago. I went downstairs to watch it be unpacked and was blown away by the quality. The Funeral Director asked me how much I payed and said the casket was absolutely beautiful. This is one of the most stressful times in life, not only emotionally but also financially because so many people take advantage. I am so happy for Express Caskets and their high level of dedication and honesty along with no delivery fees. They are truly the best!
