I really wanted to like this place, it's whole organic vegetarian food and ethically sourced ingredients. I so desperately wanted to like it!
My first attempt at eating here was on the 5th of January when my husband and I drove here specifically to eat at this place however it was closed for the "break period" over new years, bad business idea closing for THAT long over one of the busiest times of year, but it's not by business that's losing money so if they want to not make money that's their loss really.
That day we ended up eating across the road and had a great experience.
So today we drove back specifically (again) to eat here because of its ethical standpoint and the promise of a great vegetarian meal, damn were we disappointed!
Firstly the prices were around 10 to 20% higher than similar dishes from similar style places that o have eaten at, and my fiancées coffee took SO long to arrive it was almost cold. The coffee was really nice, but cold and had clearly sat for so long the foam had started to condense and fall below the pour line.
Our meals arrived after quite a long wait and they are utterly disappointing, (like the previous reviewer who I wanted to not believe) the meal lacked any kind of flavour. The "famous baked beans" felt extremely rushed, under seasoned and watery. It was as though they had thrown both a tin of beans (maybe organic but who knows) and a tin of diced tomato in a pan for a few brief minutes, added some blasé Italian seasoning and called it a day.
To say that I am utterly disappointed in this meal pretty much sums it up.
I wish I had eaten across the road again today, if I could get a refund on my calories and re-do breakfast I would go straight over there. read more
