Even with his great instruction, I think I only managed to hit the target about 5 out of 50 throws (haha), but that just made it more entertaining! We were laughing the whole time. Here is what I liked about it: There was no age requirement for Axe and Knife throwing so my 10yo god daughter was able to enjoy something new and different. A lot of places have age restrictions. It was not packed so we were not rushed out and even given a little extra time. They have a pool league. Since they have a very limited menu they allow you to bring in your own food, not alcohol. We got Dickys BBQ but also ordered the chicken tenders and fries here. Plenty of parking It's very neat and clean inside Haley was amazing If you come here and Order food place your order as soon as you get in they air fry everything for a healthier option so it takes a little longer. 45 min and Haley told us that ahead of time so we knew what to expect. But once we got everything it was cooked to perfection! We had chicken tenders, fries and churros. This is a hidden gem, been here almost 10 years, next to RTO Sullivan's and a few restaurants in the area. They are doing construction as some businesses next to them closed down. I planned a date activity at Social Axe Throwing for my husband's birthday. Neither of us had ever…read moretried axe throwing before, so we had no idea what to expect...but we ended up having a blast! It was such a fun and unique experience. We arrived on a Tuesday shortly after they opened around 4:15 PM, and we were the only ones there, which worked out perfectly. This may have been why the manager gave us extra attention, showed us how to throw properly, and guided us through three different games. That personal touch really made the experience even better. For two people, I felt that one hour was a good amount of time--though we definitely could've stayed two hours at least if we didn't have other plans. Pricing for one hour is $54, which feels a bit steep, but I was able to snag a deal for $27, which was much more reasonable for a one-hour activity. They also had about five arcade machines set up with free play, so you could easily spend more time there either before or after your axe-throwing session. I didn't realize until after we arrived that they offer food and drinks too...next time, I'd plan for lunch or dinner along with the activity. This place would be great for a team-building event or a group date night. Axe throwing is a bit harder than it looks, but definitely a lot of fun. We enjoyed the different game options, like tic tac toe that made it even more fun. One thing I didn't love: when you arrive, they ask for a credit card to keep on file in case you order food or drinks. Then when we finished and hadn't purchased anything extra, we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip. I found that a little awkward. While the manager was super friendly and helpful (possibly because it was empty--or maybe that's just how they treat all first-timers), I think there should be a better, more subtle way to encourage tipping without putting guests on the spot. Nicky was our "coach". She was super nice but I had a hard time understanding some of what she said. With other patrons cheering and talking loudly and she was talking fast and giggling during her instruction it was hard to follow. As a suggestion, I understand the coach needs to be present for safety reasons but don't hover over the customers and tell them what games to play unless they are asking. Let the patrons explore and learn and have fun. The environment is nice. It's a little darkish like dungeon style which makes it kind of cool. It's also a little chilly on the lanes so maybe. Light sweater should be kept near by. Game play is fun and takes a little skill to get the axe to stick in the board but overall a good time. Would surely like to go again some time
