Requested they give a call ahead notice on install day, and sure nuff, when a 1/2 hour out, the call came. The crew of two was very friendly, professional and hard working removing my old solar panels and piping and the new install on a new roof elevation. Hey - Yelp tip; Feel lucky if you get Zachary and his "twin bro" Jake. (so they say --LOL) . This pair is awesome. Very respectful of my property and truly flawless workmanship. All demo materials were removed without any OOPSies or oh, ohs! All old anchor installation holes along with the new locations were caulked without a need for a single complaint. They made it very clear they wanted my CRITICAL opinion, of which I simply could not accommodate. I wanted to, but they gave me nothing to go on! The new 4 panel system has been running 3 hours and is already making a HUGE difference in the pool temp. Now have a thermostat to keep the temp. where we need it too finally! Called the company and explained that my solar was leaking. After speaking to the receptionist the earliest they could come out was 3 weeks and that it would cost me 125.00. I scheduled and they came out and told me that 2 of my panels were leaking and that it was plumbed wrong. Now to make this clear, I have had this system for 11 years and it worked just fine and kept my pool nice and warm. I did not understand how it was plumbed wrong if it has worked for 11 years. With that said I got an estimate of 6500.00 to replace the whole system. I was told that "these" type of panels can not be repaired and my only option was to replace them. So I decided to call another company (Revolution Solar and Roofing). After speaking with the the receptionist they had a tech come out within 48 hours. He went up on the roof and only found 1 bad panel and suggest that I cut that panel out and use the other 7 to heat my pool. To me it seems like a logical way to proceed. He explained that my plumbing looked correct and if it was plumbed wrong it would not have worked for 11 years. His suggestion was also not to replace any of the panels until the roof needed to be replaced or until completely necessary. SO in the end make sure you always get a second opinion, my opinion about fun in the sun is they are just looking to make a quick buck and not provide the honesty and integrity that all businesses should have. read more

I've dealt with this company twice so far since buying a home with a pool about a year ago. Once for a new spa heater install and once to repair solar roof panels. And as much as you never want your pool to need work, The customer service I've received from fun in the sun from both the owner, and multiple different employees now has been stellar. I purchased a solar system from fun in the sun about a year ago. I trusted them to put the system in the places. Now Im no expert on where to put them. But I do know that they need sunlight to work right. They did tell me where they were putting them. But I just purchased this house a few months before I called them and I have no idea how much sunlight my roof gets. So I relied on them to put them where they get the most sunlight. I'm going to leave some photos and who ever views Them can make up there own mind. aside from that I would give them 5 stars Because of the equipment and service. The only complaint that I have is the placement of the panels. when I asked them why they put them there and they told me that the panels wouldn't fit in the back of the house where the sun rises. They told me that they could put them back there but it would cost me another 2145.00. I paid almost 9000.00 for the system already. I didn't tell them to put them where they are now. They told me where they were putting them. They are supposed to be professionals. it looks like Im going to look into gas heater for the pool. read more

We needed our pool solar heating replaced. I had Fun in the Sun out in April of 2022 to plug some leaks. They did a great job but explained that my 2005 system was old and would need to be replaced soon so I asked for and received a quote. I spent the next season on the roof plugging leaks and so decided to call them again. I called for a new quote as the old one was 9 months old. I got one other quote from a different company that was 23% more than Fun in the Sun. I also priced doing the job myself and decided it was worth it to have it done by professionals. Fun in the Sun just finished the solar installation. They did a great job. They listened to any concerns I had and talked me through them. Then prior to leaving, TJ spent a great deal of time explaining my system and even replaced a leaking o-ring. He wanted to make sure my pool was at its best. I have had many people try to help me understand my system and explain things to me and no one has been as patient and knowledgable as TJ. He really, really understands exactly how pool systems work and will explain it until you understand too. They left their magnet and I am so glad, because I will definitely call them again if I need help with my pool! read more

One minute ago They sold my husband a misleading story line about pool heating solar panels. What they didn't tell him is that the heating system only heats the water during summer months in Florida. Lol. He paid 4,000 and now must wait until the summer to see if they actually work. Don't waste your time. My issue is that good business ethic requires full Disclosure. I had leaks all over my pump. My tech Shawn did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problem. Reasonably priced repair and now don't have to add water to the pool every 3 days. He also helped me with a quote for a new solar heating system. We bought our house 2 years ago and an old non-functional system is still stuck to our roof. our home got hit by lightning. It took out the pool equipment and panels. My pool guy who I trust explicitly was going to repair and replace what was needed but he doesn't work on solar panels or its equipment. I called Fun in the Sun & told them what the problem was. They wanted to fix everything & would not stop about only looking at the solar equipment. I told them I've already contracted with my pool guy to replace the fried panel and computer system. They knew the pool equipment was not functional at this point. But still set up an appt for their people to come take a look. The techs came & immediately said they can't do anything until pool panel & equipment is fixed. That was news to me. About 2 weeks later I called Fun in the Sun to let them know Pool is up & running. Instead of a nice easy going conversation I was hit with a lot of combative questions. They said we already had techs come out but you didn't let us know the pool wasn't in working order....um hello we had an in depth conversation about how the lightening hit & took out the pool equipment. Amy was short, curt & ugly with me harboring resentment I wasn't using them to repair/replace the pool equipment too. Her social etiquette was non existent. Just as she was two weeks earlier when she would not take no for an answer about repairing my pool equipment and only doing the solar equipment. I understand the original owners are no longer there and it's been taken over. Perhaps these new owners need to look at who they've hired for customer relations. The short answer is don't waste your money on solar heat for your pool unless you are going to put a LOT of panels on your roof. We looked into adding heat to our pool when we bought last fall and solar seemed to be a no brainer. We had Pete come out and run the numbers, he was knowledgeable and friendly and pulled out the pretty sales charts and told us our swimming season, etc...etc. We wanted the panels put on our garage roof, it was optimal for the sun but not as big as space as the house, so the number of panels were going to be limited, but Pete assured us we will still have a swim season barring bad weather from mid March to mid October. The installers came out and were done in a day and everything seemed fine. Unfortunately it was already hot so the pool was hot...not until September and on when we needed the solar to keep the pool comfortable did we figure out that no way can it get the pool to the target temperature. I ran the pump 12 hours a day and keep the pool cover on 24/7 and it has never once been able to get to the target temp. In the end Pete just saw another sale and didn't have the integrity to say "if we have to use these size panels and this many panels for your pool there is no way it will work and we shouldn't install them" but he didn't and I have been fighting with them ever since. read more

I purchased a full solar system for my pool from Fun In The Sun a few years ago. The salmon strongly suggested FAFCO solar panels which was to be warrantied for 12 yrs. I sprung the first leak 6 months ago and Fun in the Sun said they no longer sold that supplier because of their inferior products (even though it is still sold based on their web site) even though they recommended them so strongly at the point of purchase. I just recently sprung a leak on another panel. Fun in the sun made me go to another pool supplier to get the panels replaced in both cases. Each at a cost of more than $100 per panel and installation. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. All they want is the sale. They know nothing about customer service or honoring THEIR warranty.
