But for the first several years there was an upscale vibe and guests dressed appropriately which made the experience feel premium. Now it isn't all that uncommon to see guests wearing worn out tee shirts, sweat shirts, flip flops, cutoffs, etc. Nothing crazy, but a collard shirt and no flip flop code would be a fair. It was the first location I had decided to visit on my hunt for a venue, and assumed I would need to contact a lot of venues prior to making a decision. When I first met with the staff, they all seemed very accommodating and helpful. I had never planned a party as an adult, so I found it difficult to envision the final product. Robbin and Roland were both extremely flexible and I really liked that they allowed for a combination of inside and outside food, decorations, and preparation. To me, being able to culminate a variety of different aspects to create my "dream party" on a budget was really the selling point. The day of, I got to see the lounge go through an astonishing transformation. The months of planning and preparation had me worried that I would be somehow disappointed, but I was rendered speechless by how beautiful and welcoming the atmosphere of the party was. All of my guests were blown away by the event, and I even inspired a few of my guests to hold a similar party for their next birthday. The bartender, the servers, and the owners were all wonderful. I know I could have had a memorable party anywhere, but I am exceedingly pleased by my choice in working with the Fairfield Manor. He immediately started barking at us about how we had made a reservation for four adults and one child, and that we would have to pay full price for the fourth adult which was $80 who did not show up. When we were seated, I had already apologized to the server that the fourth person could not make it, and the server -- who had otherwise been wonderful -- politely told us it was fine. I really thought this won't be a big deal like other establishments that are even more high end. I later learned that the individual's name was Tom. Describing his behavior as merely rude would be an understatement; his conduct was obnoxious, unprofessional, and unnecessarily aggressive. First, being charged the full $80 price for a guest who did not attend was extremely shocking and disappointing. More concerning, however, was the manner in which Tom approached and addressed us. In all my years of dining out, I have never experienced such poor service or such an inappropriate attitude from restaurant staff. Although I was eventually provided with containers to pack some food to take home, the entire experience left me feeling deeply insulted and completely ruined what was meant to be a special Mother's Day dinner. This Tom, who I was told aa a manger lacks a professionalism to be a qualified one. He needs a major attitude change.

It was a Saturday night and it was really noisy. Anyway, we were seated right away. The server first took our wine and beer order. We then ordered the French onion soup and the Panko Crusted Goat Cheese Salad with Grilled Chicken. While we were waiting for the food, we needed water. We finally caught our servers attention and mentioned the water. Our food arrived at least 35 minutes plus after ordering. The French Onion Soup and Goat Cheese Salad were delicious. The soup had lots of yummy cheese. The warm crispy fried goat cheese medallions were so darn delish! In the meantime, still no water. We asked the server again. The water finally came. The servers were very friendly. Think the pub could use a lot more servers, particularly on a Saturday night. The inside decor is a bunch of old wood shellacked tables. Think the furnishings could use a major upgrade. The food is what really impressed me. Based, on the good food, I would give Danaher's another try, but not on a busy weekend. A large parking lot is available.

They also start you with very good bread with olive oil and some olives. For our entrées we got Chilean Seabass, Branzino fillet, and Mariscada, which is a big shellfish stew. While it's not indicated on the menu, all entrées come with saffron rice, sautéed vegetables... And their homemade potato chips. The person who got the Mariscada was so happy. It had every kind of fresh shellfish and really was enough for two people. I really enjoyed the Branzino fillet, which came with a lemon caper sauce. It was huge and very delicious, I had to give some pieces away. The Chilean Seabass is the most expensive, at $55. For me, I felt that I have had better Seabass and I preferred my $36 branzino. But the person who ordered it was thrilled and thought it was amazing, and gets it every time here. I loved the saffron rice, and the homemade potato chips. I didn't eat the sautéed vegetables (there was just too much food everywhere!). But the person who tried them thought they were extremely delicious. Overall, this is a great place for sharing, with tons of food. And the cucumber, harissa yogurt, pistachio and sesame seed appetizer showed that they are innovating and not just doing your parent's Don Pepe. Oliver was also a super server as was everyone else on the team. I then waited there for about 12 minutes to try to get a hold of the waitress. Finally when she saw that I was trying to get a hold of her she asked me what I wanted and I explained to her my problem. She stated that it wasn't her problem and that I would have to pay for a new drink. Meanwhile the drink was right in front of me untouched and she still want me to buy another drink. I personally have never in my life had this type of experience. I asked her if I would be able to speak to the manager. The manager on duty was behind the bar. I was told that he would talk to me when he had a chance. He actually never came over to introduce himself. He ac never came over at all. I spent the rest of my night which was only another hour giving the place a second chance. No manager ever came by and left the worst taste in my mouth. I would never go to this place again. Any type of new business that can care less about the customer experience does not deserve my business or anyones for that matter. Needless to say, the party didn't take place due to Covid-19. Upon checking our bank account we determined that XO Private Functions cashed our check on 3/6/20 which was the day after we were there and one month before the party!! With Gov. Murphy's restrictions still in place we contacted XO Functions and spoke with the owner. She indicated to us that she spent our deposit and does not have our money. What???!!!! A deposit is supposed to be attached to a contract not cashed the next day. They repeatedly ignore our calls and requests for our deposit to be returned.
