I called these people for service. After leaving a message, they didn't even care to return my call. Nice.

Brothers Air, Heat & Plumbing - Massive water damage to the ceiling of the bedroom below the attic

Brothers Air, Heat & Plumbing

I've been a customer for a long time in 3 homes in the Charlotte area, with good results every…read moretime. That specifically included customer service over the phone. The calls were answered quickly by friendly well trained people who helped. Now an automated agent answers, a serious step back. It kept repeating that I'm due for A/C tuneup, though we are at the end of September.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ,…read moreWe had a 20K HVAC install and within ONE YEAR, the unit leaked and caused massive damage to the ceiling in the bedroom beneath the attic (where the unit is installed). The Tech came by 8 HOURS later, though we emphatically stated there was a leak and damage at 6AM... The Tech stated the install was faulty, as the part that was supposed to drip IN THE PAN was in fact dripping OUTSIDE OF THE PAN, which caused the water damage to the ceiling in the bedroom below. The Tech also stated the part that was to seal the water from leaking was faulty as well. Pics and video were shared. This happened Sunday, July, and to date, July 30th, NO ONE HAS FOLLOWED UP.... CALLED... EMAILED... TEXT... SMOKE SIGNAL.... NOTHING... about the leftover damage... The ceiling has buckled, is falling, and there is a smell from the damaged, soaked insulation. I've made repeated calls and asked for emails and was told "we do not provide or have emails".... IN THE ENTIRE COMPANY THERE IS NO ONE TO EMAIL????????? This is HIGHLY DUPLICITOUS and certainly not customer-focused or friendly. This company charges 20K then ABANDONS their customers to figure it out on their own. Their customer Service is extremely cavalier. After 4 days, and ME CALLING THEM, I finally get "we'll send a tech over there, will there be anything else?" As if a 20K investment and damaged property due to a faulty install isn't something to be upset about! And like I'm annoying them?! I also called the Salesman and left a message... The same guy that claimed we could call him "anytime" has yet to return ANY CALLS.... I guess since he made his sale, he could give a rats ass.... REAL NICE! This is SHAMEFUL, and CLEARLY they are incredibly comfortable treating their customers this way! DONT DO IT! There are far more reputable companies out there to deal with this crap!

Honesty Services - Fixing Pipe Leaks

Honesty Services

If I could rename this company, I'd call them "Dishonesty Mechanical."…read more What makes this experience even more disappointing is that I had previously trusted this company and spent approximately $1,300 on plumbing work. Based on that experience, I expected an honest assessment. Instead, Mike came to my home for a warranty claim through AHS and immediately told me my leak wasn't covered because my water pressure was too high and I didn't have a pressure reducing valve (PRV). The interesting part? He reached that conclusion without actually determining whether I had one. I specifically asked him, "Are you sure I don't have a PRV?" His response was yes; older homes like mine typically don't have them, so there was no need to look. After I insisted, he went into the crawl space, shined a flashlight at one section of pipe for a few seconds, and declared, "If you had one, it would be right here." He then explained how difficult and risky it would be to install one because my pipes might crumble during the work. For context, my crawl space isn't some tiny, impossible area to access. It's approximately 4 feet high, has lighting and a fan installed, and is easy to move around in. A more thorough inspection would have taken very little additional effort. I was then quoted $650 to install this supposedly nonexistent PRV, plus another $650 to replace my kitchen faucet. Something didn't sit right with me, so I contacted another plumber for an estimate. Within minutes, he located the PRV that Mike had insisted wasn't there. It had simply failed and needed to be replaced. I then contacted AHS and requested a second opinion. They assigned a different plumbing company, whose technician also located the existing PRV, confirmed that it had failed, and replaced it under my home warranty. So, to recap: I was told I didn't have a PRV, quoted hundreds of dollars to install one, and then two separate plumbers confirmed that the PRV was there all along and simply needed to be replaced. Everyone has to earn a living, but customers deserve an accurate diagnosis before being told their warranty doesn't apply or being handed expensive estimates. I expected much better from a company I had already trusted with over $1,300 worth of work. Based on my experience, I DO NOT recommend Honesty Mechanical.
