We were getting ready for a new couch and when we pulled out the old one I thought we were going to have to get new carpet as well. You don't notice till you see high traffic areas right next to untouched carpet that's been under a couch for four years. Anyway, threw a "Hail Mary" and called Laura at Full service Carpet Care. Jim and Laura were amazing from the start. From setting up the appointment to completing the service. They are friendly and very thorough. My bedroom carpet was by far the worse of all rooms. I attempted cleaning with my little shampooer and didn't notice much difference. I did expect much of a difference with professional cleaning it I was hoping it would buy me some time on replacing it. Sure did! One of the bedrooms my cat has started spraying and Jim was able to do a deep clean in there and the smell is now completely gone! 3 rooms and an area rug took about an hour. (Long review) Scheduled them to do my downstairs carpets two days before Christmas, since I was hosting at my house for about 20 people Christmas day and wasn't going to have enough time to do them myself and still get everything else done. My carpets weren't bad, just needed routine cleaning, and the woman actually complemented the condition of the carpets when they arrived. The same woman was very nice and professional on the phone, and the pricing was fair (I believe it's a husband and wife team). Unfortunately, those were the only positives, and the reason it's a 2-star review rather than 1. They did the work on the 23rd, and the carpets were still wet/damp the rest of the day so you couldn't tell how the job went yet. At a glance it seemed fine when they left, and we stayed off the carpet the rest of the day, wrapping presents upstairs. When we came downstairs the following morning on Christmas Eve, we immediately noticed there were rust colored areas in somewhat random places and shapes all over. Some of it was angular, like they had put a product on the floor and then partially cleaned the area afterward, and the stains developed later as it dried. It was shockingly bad. The areas that didn't have these rust colored stains looked fine. To be clear, and I can't stress this enough, these were 100% NEW stains, not super dirty areas that they had failed to clean properly. It was all over, but the worst of it was in the living room which we only use a few times a year, and it's probably the cleanest are of the floor. Frankly, it looked like they hurriedly put down some sort of product in various random areas, and then didn't fully clean the floor afterward and it stained. I know she mentioned treating it with something extra since I have two small dogs, but there's definitely no clear rhyme or reason to where the stains were. Before I booked them I noticed that someone else had complained on Yelp about the same rust colored stains after their carpets were cleaned, but the owners seemed to have a reasonable explanation about why it must have have been a different company that they used (I imagine that review is still available so you can read the explanation for yourself). I called them immediately, knowing that it was Christmas Eve morning and that they may or may not be able to come out to fix whatever they did, and I sent them one or two pictures. I got voicemail but the guy called me back and he said they were out of town for the holiday. I was stuck dealing with the problem, and spent most of Christmas Eve cleaning the carpets that I didn't have time to clean myself in the first place. The rust colored stains largely came up with a normal machine carpet cleaner that I own, without having to do any pre-treating. It was difficult to photograph the stains because they don't show up in pictures the way you see them with your eyes, but I did my best to capture them. You can see the discoloration, but it's actually about twice as bad as what you see, and VERY rust colored on off-white carpet which the camera doesn't capture. I'll attach some of the pictures and you can see things look far from a freshly cleaned carpet. Also attaching one picture after I cleaned the carpet myself, though the lighting is different. I didn't have time to worry about comparison pictures. That was six months ago, and they never contacted me again to see if I was able to get the stains out, or offer to make things up to me somehow, or even to just apologize and try to figure out what happened so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I effectively just paid them to put stains all over my carpet (and I actually paid them extra). Would strongly advise using a different company unless they've identified which product they're using is causing this problem, and will 100% stand behind their work. read more
