Most recently we visited Toytopia. This exhibit offers the chance to explore a hands-on history of toys from the past and into the future. My kids loved the oversized robotic claw, reminiscent of an amped up arcade machine. It was a blast trying to get the individually articulating fingers to close around the ball in order to lift it into the basket for the big reward. We also enjoyed the oversized battleship game. So fun to play and we spent 20-30 min there. Mr Potato Head was old school fun too. We made a competition out of it to see who could make the wackiest example. I think I won... or maybe my kids let me win. But the favorite had to be the mini arcade they had setup with some of the best old school cabinets. Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Dig Dug and so many more are all here as part of the exhibit and you could spend a long time here without realizing it! Oh and there's even a Zoltar fortune teller too! When you're done at toytopia you can go learn the history of Wilbur D May on the other side of the museum. I personally love exploring the artifacts and treasures he collected from his travels, especially the hunting and fishing trophies! All in all, a great little place to spend a

Fantastic ice, festive ambiance!…read more Outdoor ice skating is so special! If you're lucky, you can skate in an indoor rink anytime of the year. But for the winter holidays, I feel especially lucky to find an outdoor rink. The outdoor rink at the Grand Sierra Resort is so festive! I skated here for the first time in December 2024, and was excited to visit Reno and the GSR Outdoor ice rink again in December 2025! This place has great holiday vibes with their decor, music, fire pit, heat lamps, and drink cart! The staff here are super friendly - shoutouts to BRADLEY P., JOSH, and MARK! The ice is very well maintained by Zamboni driver JOHNNY F. who really knows what he's doing and does a fantastic job! Most recently, I skated on the 9:30-10:30pm session on a Friday night, but due to my schedule, I wasn't able to get to the rink until 10pm and decided I would be happy to pay to skate for even just 30 minutes from 10-10:30pm. I didn't reserve a session on-line, but had no issues paying at the window in person. Of course, I was 30 minutes late, so there were no lines at that point. The charge is $19 for a session, but since I brought my own skates, it was only $12. Despite the crowds, the ice was still good 30 minutes into the session. You could tell everyone was having a fun time. I decided to also skate the 11pm-12 midnight session since I was having so much fun too! The Zamboni driver cleaned the ice at 10:30pm and was on schedule for the next session to begin at 11pm. (If you're a night owl, you and your friends can have the ice almost to yourselves for the very last session of the night!) The ice is super clean and amazingly in great shape - no leaves on the ice, no rocks, nothing but smooth ice - even though it's exposed to the elements 24/7! So smooth I was easily able to spin and jump and do a few other tricks on this ice. If you're planning a trip to Reno in the winter time, this is a great gift to yourself, family and friends!

I frequently brought my oldest to this park and the Wilbur D May museum over the years for certain exhibitions. It was convenient since we were in NW Reno area. Tea parties and picnics by the playground and hikes up to the "N" during warmer spring and summer months. The playground is currently under construction and might be our favorite. I look forward to bringing my little when it's reopened. This past weekend my kids and I attended the great Reno balloon races and this event never disappoints. It's an annual tradition that I'm glad my oldest still partakes in for now. This was the largest turnout I've seen in all my years of attendance and living in Reno. The staff that organized/worked this event were well prepared and it was organized; thank you for your hard work and for all of the participants. Next year this event will run 4 days! I'm already looking forward to coming back. I look forward to returning when the playground is completed and visiting when I'm in old NW Reno.

The food was surprisingly good. I tried the chicken wings with their hottest sauce and couldn't stop licking my fingers. They were perfectly crispy and came with a nice side of fries and healthy veggies to dunk in the ranch. The sauce was balanced with a good punch of vinegar and a nice kick of heat and the service team really knew the menu well so they helped guide us to some great selections. The mini golf being themed around our city was a fun time too, and I loved the addition of the Joker, which makes each whole play a little different and the game of mini golf a whole lot more interactive. I loved how it would encourage. Encouraged you to connect with the people you're playing with talk to them and strategize around how to leverage these advantages to help you win. Now the darts was a big surprise. This fancy tech driven dartboard that they have includes a bunch of super fun games that make darts approachable for any person. I'm not a Dart player. Maybe I've thrown one a few times but the variety of games they offer made it super fun. We crashed castles and spaceship ships and played team games in individual games in the our past and all of us were like oh no is it over? Seriously, put Birdeez on your radar for a good time. You won't be disappointed.
