The sushi here beats any that I've gotten in York. If you live near Hanover and are contemplating a trip to York for sushi, don't waste your time. Go to Full Moon instead and you will not regret it. The sushi is always fresh and practically melts in your mouth. They have numerous specialty rolls with great flavor combinations. The portion sizes are generous for the price. My wife and I typically get the sushi for two and mix up what comes standard with some custom choices. The waitress and sushi chef are always glad to accommodate us. The rolls are so good as presented that dipping in soy and wasabi should be considered a criminal act. Even the miso soup is top notch. The aroma is wonderful. It has nice big thick pieces of kombu, not the skimpy cheap shredded stuff you find elsewhere. If you go in for lunch, don't do it on a day when you are in a rush. They make your meal right, not fast; which is the way it should be. The restaurant is very clean, but not lavish in decor. I get the impression that they would rather spend their money on high quality ingredients than decorations, which is just fine with me. The one thing that I find lacking is the utensils. I prefer to eat with chopsticks, and theirs are the typical take-out style break apart chopsticks. It would be nice to eat with chopsticks more deserving of contact with good food. read more

I've been a big fan of sushi for about 10 years now. Full Moon was one of the first restaurants I went to when I moved to Hanover. Expecting it to be mediocre was wrong of me. It's now one of my favorite restaurants and I frequently visit. The staff has always been friendly. The food is always great. The prices aren't bad. It's very close to home. If you want sushi, this is the place to go. It doesn't get any better than this. The Lobster Cha Cha is amazing as well as the Black Diamond Roll, and the Seduction Roll. Also, try the fried banana for dessert. We are always treated great when we visit this restaurant. It is much better than the Blue Koi that is down the street. read more

My favorite sushi restaurant. You can't beat the sushi here. Try the Lobster Cha Cha or the Seduction roll. This stuff melts in your mouth. Staff is very friendly and you can tell there are a lot of regulars that come back here often. Get here early on the weekend or you will wait for a table. The sushi is average but their service is terrible. We had a party of 6 the other night, the waitress (only one working) served us flat soda, and took almost an hour to take our food order. Total time to eat and pay was just over 2 hours. If it was my call I would have asked for the check after our drinks but it was not my call. If your doing take out this place is okay. I have only ever eaten at Chinese Restaurants as opposed to Japanese, but on a recommendation I took my mother to the Full Moon for lunch for her birthday. Not familiar with Japanese we played it safe starting with the pork dumplings which were small, but expertly cooked and very flavorful. We split the shrimp and scallop terriyaki which could have been average but the scallops were sweet, not fishy, and the tempura veggies were an excellent compliment. I did not enjoy the miso soup ,but am not all that familiar with it so it may just be me. Atmosphere could definitely be improved upon, but the service was great. Very attentive. Overall, I recommend the Full Moon based on this experience. By the way, my mother and I had a second portion of the dumplings. Can't figure out if they were that good or we were just that hungry. read more

Everyone talks about the sushi; which is OK for Hanover, I guess. It's still quite small pieces for the price (which is high for Hanover and even for other places) and the rest of the food is not even close to authentic Japanese. Both the Yakisoba and the Katsudon (my favorite low-cost great Japanese dish) were terrible and overpriced. I will not be going back here, especially when you compare it to places in Ellicott City or Columbia in Maryland. read more

used to visit every couple months. love their food; always fresh and tasty. last time I was there was for my daughter's birthday in August. According to the website, they still to this day, offer a free birthday meal. Well we did not get that..the waitress said that I needed to spend $60 now to get it. I had spent $57!!!! We would have eaten another order of sushi to make it over $60 If they would have told us their NEW policy. I had even told them we were there for her birthday.
