I just purchased a townhouse and I had Full House Inspection Services do the inspection. Stephen, the owner, was recommended to me by my realtor and, once I heard about his background, I knew he was the person to go to! Stephen is on the Governor's Home Inspection Licensing Board, which means he was involved in the development of the current standards for home inspectors in Washington. Because of this board, all home inspectors are now required to be licensed and trained prior to working. Knowing he was involved in the development of these standards was really interesting and easily gave me the confidence to go ahead and use his company for my own inspection. Stephen really knew his stuff. I followed him around as he thoroughly inspected the townhouse. He pointed certain things out to me and gave me answers to questions I didn't even know I had! He was extremely knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire inspection. A day after the inspection was completed, I received a full report with photos and details about any issues he had found. The report was extremely comprehensive and helpful. Stephen was FANTASTIC! I am so impressed by how thorough he was and detailed in the report and walk through he gave. My husband and I closed on a home in the Queen Anne area this month and needed a home inspector asap before our close date. Stephen informed me that he was available and was flexible with our meeting time. At 9am I showed up at our future home and he was already here scoping out the exterior of the house with his partner (his name escapes me, but he was EXCELLENT too!) He tested all of the windows (and fixed the unhinged ones), he found lose tiles around the bathtub wall (that I felt would be overlooked by most inspectors), and checked every light socket, appliance, fireplace, EVERYTHING! He spent 4 hours at our home and did a very thorough walk through with us. Every leak, dent, attic issue, venting problem, roofing need was pointed out and solutions to these problems were made. His report he wrote up that night was even more detailed and the photos he took of the problems were extremely helpful. HE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! Especially when you are buying an older home. We happily bought this house knowing FULL WELL what we were buying, what needs to be fixed immediately, and how much about it would cost. I don't write review often, if at all so you know this is pretty serious! This inspection service will provide only minimal at best, so even though the owner touts of being a trainer on the state board, which is no longer the case for valid reason. Here are summary of my mediocre experience with Mr. Cancler in which led to substandard result and cancelled order. 1. Unresponsive to confirm appointment, even after several work days and dodgy on answers to reasonable customer inquiries. 20 counts of email chain and owner still got the only single email address mixed up for appointment and key report undelivered. His excuse ~ "it didn't bounce back". 2. Pair an energy audit with home inspection, received the 1st report via Community Power Works in 3 days, was promised by Mr. Cancler the 2nd (more expensive) and direct report in 4 work days - it never came and full payment drawn 2 days after inspection visit. Waited 14 days and cancel the 2nd order, Mr. Cancler not only deny responsibility by bluntly blaming customer and refused refund, yet even try to further push declined order, giving again the excuse of wrong email address, and slack follow through. Eventually he admits accountability after confronting him the shortfalls, let's see what the county judge decides on the refund + legal expenses. 3. Misleading company title from observing in person, the lack of detail and minimal level of inspection given its premium price charged. Acknowledge personal safety and Washington state regulation for inspection is still thin, but when a registered and licensed business call itself "Full House Inspection Services" - this consumer's belief in its integrity and namesake claim is violated. 4. Perhaps we need independent auditors to investigate house inspectors... Internal Affairs? The level of trust we placed in these 'professionals' require to be measured and monitored to maintain true and legitimate craft smiths, and not left with incompetent high paid individuals with undeserving 'title'. read more

I've been through a few inspections as a homeowner over the years, and I was really impressed with his attention to detail while auditing our house. Stephen inspected a home I was considering buying in Seattle as a west-coast getaway. Did a great job. We didn't end up buying it, but he was a pro nonetheless. He really knows his stuff (which was baffling to me). So much to know about a home that I didn't even realize.
