This is one of the first negative reviews I've ever written for a business, and I'm doing so after…read moremuch careful consideration because although I feel truly wronged, I dont want to make trouble for anyone. That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.

We walked into this shop with hub in hand and were immediately taken care of, the shop was slammed but they made time to help us out and get us back on the road. As someone who works on their own vehicles and doesn't like trusting mechanics if I was local I would take any of my vehicles to this shop in a heart beat. I cannot Recommend this shop enough. They know their stuff and do quality work 11/10 would recommend!

Tunex at 1247 S. Jordan Parkway is one of those rare auto repair centers that you can really count on. This shop reminds me of the way my father ran our auto repair shop, except Tunex is bigger. These guys are efficient, honest, affordable, and, oh yes, great mechanics. I do most of my own work, but there are times when I don't have the diagnostic equipment, time, or, I just can't figure something out. Each time Randy has listened carefully to my concerns and what I'm thinking. They have not once disappointed me. And its not just me, I've watched them interact with other customers while I've waited my turn. They are treated with the same respect and seem to leave just as satisfied as I always am. So, when your car breaks, this Tunex is a great option for honest repair services.

I hobbled into Tunex and even though they were obviously busy with many cars (including classics) in for repairs, they fit me in immediately and repaired the dangling panel quickly. She had 24 hours to make the decision due to unfortunate circumstances. I l called every open shop. Went to big O tires and they wouldn't touch the car without paying them or give me a breakdown receipt of what they thought it could be, and refused to print it off to price compare. These amazing humans lifted the car up, walked me out and let me video exactly what was wrong, gave me honest advice in 10 minutes. Sent us on our way no charge. Once he took a look at it he said it needed a new hitch and he could have it done by early afternoon. He went and got the parts and welded a new hitch on just like he said.
