I purchased my baby from there in Oct 2017. We love our girl, she's absolutely the sweetest and she became part of our family. Out of the blue in December, she became paraplegic and we had to have same day surgery to give her a chance to walk again. It's a $9600 surgery. Luckily she walked again after full on rehabilitation. But she injured herself again 5 months later. This is our first dog and I had no idea this breed has 1 chance out of 4 to get diagnosed with IVDD around the age of 4. I reached out to the breeder to get an idea if that was running in her family line and to let other families know that my dog had the issue so they can be proactive about it, most likely people who purchased a puppy from that litter has a much higher risk as it's genetic. Other people are going to run into the same issue, cost and major stress. They replied saying her parents were happy and healthy. No support whatsoever. This is a huge deal in my opinion and they aren't taking this seriously. I don't think I'm an isolated case. Anyone with a mini should take pet insurance at the very least we should have more information on IVDD from the breeder so we can be informed on the signs. If you don't get surgery within 24 hours, your dog will most likely be paralyzed. After surgery, she had to be 100% crated with strict instructions to manage pain with meds 3 times/day with food that we had to spoon feed. We were carrying her and holding her body trying to make her go potty. We had to have someone at the house 24/7 to ensure she's taken care of. Super long journey to get her back and she just injured herself again. Not as bad as she's walking still but it might be another episode of IVDD located elsewhere. I can't stress enough that the initial investment to get a puppy is just that. read more

I am very disappointed with the interactions I've had with this Breeder. Trying to be courteous and professional when getting information about the entire process has been like pulling teeth, has taken every ounce of patience I have! Originally I was told there was no possible wait list to be a part of... so I wait for the puppies to be born... (apparently this is the time to contact them and place your desposit) to my dismay the picture update showing the puppies born states: "Daisy's litter of five were born last night. Mae- shaded cream long hair female 950.00 adopted Mara-shaded cream long hair female 950.00 adopted Mason-shaded cream long hair male 950.00 adopted Max-shaded cream long hair male 950.00 pending Major-black & cream long hair male 900.00 adopted I will notify those on my deposit and waiting lists first." My heart broke that somehow the first update that puppies were born somehow already has ALL of them adopted and also clearly stated that there is a waitlist... I was so incredibly disappointed...and FRUSTRATED. After some extreme yoga breathing I contacted this breeder again to determined how to get on this waiting list or reserve a puppy. I was then told information that was withheld before. I must now wait till the "pregnancy is confirmed" and that they would then take a deposit. Once they confirmed the pregnancy I once again contacted her and was now told I needed to wait till the puppies were born... and this takes us all the way back to square one where there will be a posted picture of puppies ALL ALREADY ADOPTED... I've officially given up and will be going with a different breeder. This new breeder, within the hour, has given me all upcoming litter dates and full information of their exact process! Long time over due for this review. We received our Black and Tan Female Doxie in Nov 2011 right before thanksgiving. The whole process went smooth. We absolutely LOVE Full Circle Ranch! Cathy was so wonderful and let us see the mom and dad of our little girl we named Tootsie . She was very informative and you can see all the other dogs are well taken care of. Just wanted to say thank you Cathy for giving us such a wonderful baby . She has the best temperament and so much fun!!! Every dog and person just loves her . I cannot begin to say how amazing Cathy has been in the whole process of me adopting my Henry. From the moment he was born when I put my deposit down, she has tirelessly been in contact with me whenever I had a question, to the moment I brought him home and beyond. I also appreciate that she doesn't up charge for certain colors (dapple, English cream) like some breeders I looked into do. The amount of love and care she has for these dogs is clearly evident as she has gone above and beyond to ensure which supplements/vaccines/food has worked best for her litters. We purchased our dapple piebald Dachsund (named Lola) from Cathy at Full Circle Ranch as a 2011 Christmas present from Santa. Cathy made the experience extremely smooth and accommodating which was really helpful given that this was our first family dog. She took the time to talk us through the instructions, provide a bag of starter food, and really make the handover smooth. She also ensured Lola was prepared to leave her litter by ensuring she was the proper weight, performing de-worming, and clipping Lola's nails. The ranch is a family operation and is nestled in the beautiful Leona Valley (west of Palmdale) amongst the cherry tree orchards (which is where we usually go with the family each May to have the kids pick cherries). During the pickup, we saw all the other Dachsunds that Cathy was raising and it was apparent that the dogs were treated very well and were happy. The Full Circle Ranch has about 8 acres for the dogs to stretch their legs when outside their kennel. Cathy also introduced us to Lola's parents who were beautiful dogs with great dispositions. And, we also got to meet Lola's entire sibling litter!! I would highly recommend the Full Circle Ranch if you're in the market for a new Dachsund. I am very remiss in writing this review. I should have written it years ago, but I did not know about Yelp. My dog Casey is now 5 years old. He is a wonderful dog and obviously was aided by Cathy's careful breeding and puppy nurturing. He has been featured in four national Dachshund calendars (sold at Petco, Petsmart and other pet shops), two appointment books, and the national Dachshund Magazine. He is extremely smart, and excelled in his obedience classes. He is a great friend and companion. He goes to work with me every day. I recommend this breeder with my very best compliments. We are so happy with our Gretchen!! We heard about Full Circle Dachshund from our pet sitter here in Tehachapi. We were thinking about adding another Dachshund to our family, so we were doing some research on local breeders. Full Circle's website had a lot of good information and pictures. The price can sound high but I too understand the price is not all profit. With business permit and licensing, as well as material cost, you can see why it is a part time job. I purchased my first puppy (Clark) from Cathy in April 2013...so this review is a bit late. I was hesitant about putting a deposit ($200) down for a dog i had only seen online. I called Cathy and she was super friendly and walked me through the whole process, which put me at ease. She answered all of my many emails almost instantaneously and sent updated photos anytime i requested. Six years ago we decided to look for a new family dog; my husband and I both grew up with dachshunds, so we wanted that for our kids. We found just the puppy were were looking for at Full Circle Ranch, a beautiful long haired, black and tan dapple we named Max. We live in the San Francisco Bay area, so Cathy agreed to meet us half way, in San Luis Obispo. Little Max was absolutely beautiful and adorable. He quickly became a loved member of our family, and now 6 years later, has developed into a fine looking, handsome dog, with all the dachshund characteristics of being playful, clownish, protective, and intelligent. He was supposed to be a miniature dachshund, as his parents were, but developed into a 21 pound regular sized dachshund (he was one of 2 in the litter that didn't stay mini). Frankly, with his personality, his full size suits him well! I'm a big fan of dachshund "conformation," the standards and measurements (great paws, long nose, long ears) that mark the breed, so I frequently look at Max and tell him what a handsome fellow he is, ha ha.
