Later that day, Teresa emailed back and said that I hadn't checked some boxes on the site so they could call me, not only was she not going to reschedule my pre-paid appointment, but that on top of my pre-paid massage that she was not going to re-schedule, I also owed them an additional $25 according to her online scheduling system. Now, as an online business owner myself, I can understand tech glitches, miscommunications and a lot of things that can and do happen. However, this takes the cake in terms of unprofessionalism with zero communication. Also, as a new client, booking for the first time (and pre-paying) this is not only bad business, it's actually lacking emotional intelligence and deeply unkind of a place that is supposed to be run by "healers." Had the massage been good, I would have likely become a regular. Each of the massage therapists is certified to perform safe prenatal massages. They have an easy online booking system (which I appreciated). I showed up and everyone was masked (March 2022) which I was thankful for, being pregnant. They offered me a glass of water while I completed the waivers and were very friendly! (I was the first appointment of the day.) I went into the room and the therapist thoroughly explained how the whole massage would go and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted her to focus on. The table was extremely comfortable for a pregnant person :) special pillow/mat with holes to accommodate your growing body and the ability to lay on my stomach (which I've missed!) and there was no pressure anywhere on my body. Just laying on the table was worth the whole massage! Lol halfway through I rolled over and she replaced the belly mat with a large wedge, so I didn't have to lay flat. The only thing I'd suggest would be having white noise or meditation music and or candles/aroma therapy. It was very quiet, but that would've put it over the top with comfort. Seriously an amazing way to start my day and I can't wait to go back!

(This makes me feel all sorts of feelings! Why can't things stay the same and continue forever and ever?) However, nothing is forever, darling. I now see another amazing massage therapist at Indy Massage Company named Matthew. He is pretty great, and I look forward to relaxing on his table each month at IMC. He is intuitive and firm yet incredibly gentle, and I'm able to just surrender and let him work his magic. I've mostly only booked Swedish massages with him, but one time I booked a longer session where he really worked out the muscles in my upper back and shoulders, which really needed attention. Indy Massage Company is one of my favorite places in Indy, and I continue to love visiting this place when I can.
