I was working at the Video store until 9pm and when I finished I decided that seeing as I'd just earned some money, it was only fair that I be allowed to spend it. So I treated myself to some takeaway for a late Sunday dinner.
I'd often been to the Thai and Indian places for my well deserved late in the evening meal, so tonight I thought I'd go to Fujiyama's, the new(ish) Japanese Restaurant on Norton Street.
I entered through the balcony eating area, which always seems to be full, went up to the counter and picked up a menu. I read through the dining options but in the back of my mind I always knew what I was going to eat. It had to be the Bento Box, that classic Japanese dish. An assortment of fine foods separated by barricades all inside a box.
I looked around the classy joint as I awaited my order. Other people came in and picked up their pre-ordered meals. I wandered around and read newspapers that had been left on the various inside tables.
Then finally, my food was ready. I picked up some chopsticks and a serviette and made my way home.
I turned on the tele, I opened the box and I tucked in. Japanese food is always a little bit expensive, I find. But it is always good and I am seldom disappointed. This was no exception. Yummo.
