We spent all day biking and walking around Versailles, so we were exhausted when we returned to the hotel. We were not keen on going out too far from the hotel, because we were tired and it was raining rather steady. We saw a sushi joint right across from the hotel, checked the YELP reviews and were all in.
As with all restaurants in Paris, this one is small. We found it to be a family joint with the husband as the chef and the wife and daughter the servers. A welcomed joy was that the daughter spoke fluent English and the menus were also in English. The menu is a bit limited in that it is heavy on salmon and tuna. They serve about 8 other cuts of sushi, but specialize in salmon. The Bento box came with miso soup, a cabbage salad that had a sweet flavor and rice. The box had a California roll, a tuna roll, three delicious pork dumplings, 6 pieces of sashimi and 3 pieces of salmon. It was enough food, but I shared a some yakitori and had to be rolled out. This meal and my wife's meal of 12 salmon and tuna sushi pieces, with a California roll and two beers was only $52.00 Euros (@$55.00 US Dollars). It was a delicious and a steal. Close to the metro. It was not too crowded, but there are literally hundreds of restaurants in a 8x8 city block area.
One thing I must say is that the fish was ridiculously fresh. The salmon was so buttery and smooth. If you like salmon sushi, this is the place. read more
