We had a party of 6 on Valentines Day. We knew it was busy and going to be a wait and we're just fine with it. I placed us on the wait list and about 25 mins later we got the text to gather your party. We went inside to inform the host that we were there and the front doors would hardly open. There were soooo many people in the entry way. We made our way to the host stand and there was no one there. The entire lobby/bar was covered in people waiting. We moved to the front of the crowd and still didn't see an employee or anything. We finally find the host and my husband informed him we were there. The host stated "yeah, ok" and then started calling others names. Didn't tell us where to go or anything. My husband stated "we got the text that y'all were ready" the host then said "yeah, it will be another 15 mins to get the table setup." I then stepped up and asked the host "where would you like the Baker party of 6 to go?" Meaning where is the heck do we stand for yall to know we were there... the host didn't look up and said "yeah, I don't understand that question." And waved his hand. As if he was dismissing me. I asked "what is there not to understand? We have a large party and this place is over flowing. Where would you guys like us to go?" The host said "just stay in the building." And walked off. We get to our table 25 mins later and the other people that were sitting with us had two kids. The host asked "would you like me to get you a booster seat dear?" And then walked past me holding my two year old. I had to go back up front and ask him to get me a high chair. The waiter came and asked for our drinks and we ordered a sushi roll as well. Then a lady came around and was taking orders. I asked her if the sushi roll was put in and she stated yes. The other couple not with us ordered their rolls about 5 mins behind us. They got theirs and then the cook came out, we ate our food and visited for a bit and no roll. I had to ask for the roll to be taken for the ticket and then was asked "would you just like to take it to go or take it off the ticket completely" I had it removed since we were FULL BUT!!!!!!!! The cook was amazing! He was super funny and interacted with everyone so well. He didn't rush through because they were busy nothing. He put on a show and sang happy birthday and was great! Our food was amazing! I say all of this to say they need better waiting (felt like it was a big fire hazard) and the host needs some customer service training. I know it was busy but that doesn't excuse you from being kind. read more

My party of 4 went here before our homecoming dance tonight. We got seated fairly quickly at a hibachi grill. Our drinks weren't checked to be refilled but once. However, I get it was busy due to 2 neighboring city's having homecoming tonight. When our food came out, our cook was super sweet, but the portion size of rice was not like normal, and was much less than the section across from us. All of this aside, the part that really upset me was the 18% gratuity that was added to my party of 4!! When I looked at my check, I looked to see how my bill was so high, and this was the cause. At the bottom of the ticket it says 18% is added to parties of 6, so I asked the server why it was added to our check. He said it was because they add it for homecoming/prom. So what would have happened if I wasn't dressed up? Would I have still of been charged $13 extra? Why wasn't there a sign posted warning us about the automatic 18% gratuity? That may not seem like a lot of money, but when you're a teenager it is. I would have still left a tip but probably not $13 worth, especially because my drink was only refilled once the whole night. read more

The food is excellent! Hibachi is a real talent. The service here is impeccable. Your needs are filled before asking. We have one who didn't want hibachi and had sushi instead. Their sushi is fresh and large. Very well priced for entire rolls. The atmosphere is amazing. It lifts your spirits up. Birthdays are always special here with song and a cupcake with a candle. We usually have a large group and never have a problem getting seated quickly. The Long Island Iced Tea was about the size of a juice glass and $6.95. No way was there the number of ingredients in a LIIT. Beer is a better choice at $3.75 a bottle. For kids, it is a real show. Wish I could go every weekend! read more

Yeesh! -- Only 2.5 stars? (Tough crowd... lol) The hubs and I took one of the players out for a birthday lunch, and hibachi at Fuji Steakhouse was the request, so here we are! In my mind, if you've seen one... onion choo-choo train trick, egg tossed in the chef hat, spatula hit and flip medley, "watch your eyebrows" for the blazin' fire on the grill... hibachi chef performance, you've seen them all! If the rice is cooked, the protein is on par, the yum yum sauce is poured, and no one catches on fire-- we're good, right?! In that regard, Fuji was no different and met expectations. SAVANNAH, however, was the server of the millennium and made our experience wonderful! The girl is good, y'all! She's extra sweet and attends to everyone and every detail of the table she's serving. We went on a Tuesday night and sat for over 20 minutes waiting for service. During this time my daughter and I watched as at least 4 servers stood around chatting, and one was hitting on the bar tender. I had to raise my hand to finally get someone to notice me. I had eaten here once before and wasn't terribly impressed, but that was several years ago. I decided to give it another try! The prices are outrageous for the quality of the food, and there is no lunch menu available on Sunday. I ordered the pork katsu with a side of fried rice, and my friend ordered the shrimp teriyaki lunch box. Both orders came with a soup and salad. We paid a total of $42.18. The soup was bland (though it was OK with a little salt) and the salad was just chopped wet iceberg with packages of Newman's Own ranch. The lunch box was served with an assortment of tempura items, a California roll, fried gyoza, fried egg rolls, and the teriyaki shrimp. The shrimp wasn't teriyaki at all. It was so heavily sesame flavored that it tasted like it was cooked in peanut butter. The tempura was bland and the 'tempura sauce' was just Thai Chili Sauce. The California roll and gyoza tasted store-bought. The pork Katsu wasn't really what I would consider "katsu". It was just little slices of pork tenderloin breaded and fried. It was also very very bland. The katsu sauce was absolutely not actual katsu sauce. It was BBQ mixed with mayonnaise. Pork katsu is also meant to be served with shredded cabbage as a palate cleanser, but this was served on chopped iceberg. The fried rice with both orders was very garlicky and very greasy. Our server was very awkward and also pushy. The best part of the meal were our drinks, Mt. Dew and Pepsi. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

If you love fried rice and sushi Fuji's is the place for you!! The American Combo is my boyfriend and I favorite go to. It's includes two of our favorite rolls (Shrimp Tempura and California). The sushi is always incredibly fresh and we really enjoy the petite size of the rolls! The combo comes with a soup and a salad, but since we split it we exchange the soup for an additional ginger salad!! Their ginger dressing is to die for and something I look forward to at every visit (if you love this dressing as much as I do just know they do sell their dressing at the restaurant you just have to ask!!). At dinner Fuji's serves rice chips at every table, last night they were stale...which was sad, but they are normally always made fresh and the first time I have experienced this so I didn't judge to harshly on one mistake! I love this place so much. I like how the chefs entertain you while they are cooking and the hibachi tasted great. Like a blast of flavor. I only wish the bowls of soup were bigger. I came here on a limo and got my food for free. There is great service but when someone ordered Dr. Pepper, they got Pepsi instead which really bothers me. Overall, this place is great. 10/10 would eat again. I also got some food to go it was so great. The funny thing was that when the chef tried to launch some egg into my mouth, it fell into my Sprite when it hit my mouth. read more

As a farewell and thank you to my cast/crew of the movie I just shot here, I suggested Fuji's because I craved sushi. I was here last year and had a wonderful meal that harkened to S.F. and the myriad of sushi places we have there. There were nine of us and so a wait of about 15 minutes ensued but we were seated and taken care of well. I saw Karashi Octopus which is like cerviche, only Japanese-style. Slightly firm, bathed in a gingery marinade with seaweed and a bit of a kick, it was well-executed. I tried some of the grilled squid and steak..all tender and tasty. Our chef was only slightly funny: he pelted me with multiple vegies without finding my mouth My son got the Sushi Deluxe while I got the Sashimi Deluxe and we traded pieces. The fish was very fresh and presented delicately on a bed of daikon, shiso leavs and carrots. Well worth the trip there and a memorable experience! read more

We last visited Fuji on September 15, 2019. I had the Sushi Deluxe and Dragon Roll. I vowed not to go back to Fuji after my last visit a couple of months ago. Well...I went back and regret it. Every bit of my sushi was room temperature, or warmer. Keep in mind nothing was fried. It was like this the last few times I've been here. My body is regretting eating the room temperature sushi. I will not go back and will recommend the same to anybody who asks. Save your money and go to Sushi Cafe in LR. read more

I have come here numerous times for lunch, dinner, after work drinks, you name it. In the past few months, Fuji has become not what it once was. Today I met my sister here for lunch at 11:30AM so there was hardly a crowd. We sat in the dining area and were immediately greeted by our server. We did not open our menus because we knew what we wanted. We ordered our drinks and Fuji Chicken both with salads. Our drinks came immediately. Our salads came shortly after that. Our entrees on the other hand came nearly 45 - 50 minutes after that. The Fuji Chicken lunch entree is hibachi chicken, fried rice, and vegetables. The rice was not thoroughly cooked and the food lacked flavor. My sister even stated the whole reason she wanted to come to Fuji for lunch was for the fried rice. We were really disappointed. Also note: sit as far away from the bar as possible. It is extremely warm. It feels as though you are under heat lamps. It will probably be a while if we come back. We may have to drive across town to Umami from now on. read more

Never been so disappointed in customer service on a TO-GO order! The food we did get was great. However, we were missing an item. Less than 5 minutes after leaving we were told it was too late for us to come get it because they closed at 9pm. When we left with our TO-GO order they had several customers still there and plates were being distributed. We weren't asking to come back to eat there, but just simply get the ONE sushi roll we didn't get. Instead we were told to come back tomorrow. HORRIBLE customer service! Would completely understand if this was several hours or even minutes after their actual closing time. But in fact it was 4 minutes before that and we were only a few minutes away. read more

I have tried to call in a to go order 8 times it rings different amount of times then sends me to voicmail or at one point they answered no one said anything and then hung up on me. Very very upset considering this was my Mother's Day dinner and I couldn't even get anyone to answer. Then when I finally got an answer I placed my order and Was told it would be ready in 20-30 minutes my husband did not leave until 30 minutes after I placed my order so got there about 45 minutes later after my order was placed. He went in and a lady at the register asked Him what order he was picking up and he told her and she took his money and then left. mind you my food was sitting on the counter the whole time behind the sushi bar. about 30 minutes later someone else came up and asked if she could help him and he said he's waiting for my order and she asked if he payed already and he said yes and she said are you sure and looked it up and said oh I guess you did pay. He waited for a whole hour to pick up my food that was just sitting there. He also asked her 3 different times to make sure the bottle of yum yum sauce was there that I payed an extra 7$ for and she assured him each time that It was and all they gave me was a 2 oz container. This was suppose to be a Mother's Day dinner and i payed 50$ for nothing but troubles and of course when I tried to call an hour before they closed no one would answer very very disappointed with how this restraint has gone down hill. read more

I've been here twice (only once was it my idea) and I don't think highly of this place at all. Okay, I'll start with the food.....3 stars. It's utterly and completely average Japanese food. Being from a big city with a growing number of Japanese restaurants I'd have to say that the sushi is average, the tempura is nothing special and the entertaining routine where they cook your meat in front of you?? That food is below average. So the 3 stars on the food.....service? All the servers look very mean and bitchy, not a smile on a single face. And when you ask them for help? They only prove me right. One waitress even glared at me and asked "What?" when I said excuse me (to ask for refills of water as they hadn't come by our table for half an hour). Maybe because my group was college students they thought we'd be cheap tippers (not like I was going to prove them wrong with that service). The service was so bad that even had the food been the best Japanese food ever I would not have gone back. The friends I was with also said they would never go back. Oh yea, and prices? Over priced by about double....or at least 50%. Paying top dollar for average food and terrible service? No thanks. Save yourself some trouble and try Mt. Fuji off of Rodney Parham (better food and better service) or McDonald's (at least its cheap). read more

Hibachi yes sushi no Sushi was inedible-sushi rice had waaay too much rice vinegar to the point of being bloopy and over powered the taste of the fish which might have been on purpose. Ika squid was grey and very tough not fresh, salmon was equally bad, even the cucumber was not crunchy or fresh. The to go box remained unused and no one asked me how my food was obviously untouched. When my coworkers recommended a sushi joint in Conway I was apprehensive. Sushi in a small town in the middle of Arkansas? Well, I'm a sushi snob, but thought what the heck. I was gladly surprised! I ordered green tea, miso soup, and two sushi rolls. Both rolls were great. The fish was fresh and flavors were great. The menu had great specialty rolls to choose from. Service was great as well. We patronize Fuji often; it's a go-to restaurant for us for comfort food. We know what we're getting, the servers know us and the food is consistently good, though not necessarily imaginative. We usually order edamame as an appetizer to share, and then I get sushi: nigiri fresh salmon, nigiri smoked salmon and shrimp tempura roll. My husband has hibachi salmon (we sit at a table, not the grill). I've also had other rolls here that are also consistently good. At dinner they serve little complimentary crispy rice toasts that are delicious! The wine list isn't extraordinary, but the pours are generous. I've never tried the cocktails, but they offer margaritas and cosmopolitans. I sometimes have dessert, but have only tried the ice cream tempura, which is good, in a Japanese junk food kind of way. We get the same meal to take out, too, pretty regularly and it is always reliably good. This is really our neighborhood sushi restaurant, and I think the consistent good quality, good service and fresh, good sushi is worth four stars. read more
