We highly recommend Fuji Screen and Shade. I wasn't sure if we needed a new custom security screen door or if we could have our existing one repaired and rehung. Mr. Fujinami sent a worker to provide a free quote, recommending we have the existing screen door repaired. However, due to the termite damage to the door frame, we would need to have it replaced. To my surprise, Fuji Screen can do the repair woodwork too! The crews were professional, skillful and efficient. Actually they were perfectionists as well. They not only replaced the door frame and sprayed a termite treatment, they purchased custom paint to match the existing color of the house. Fuji San said he had been working with his team since the 1970's and it shows. So much experience there. After comparing prices to have a new custom screen door made, we saved about $800 to $1000 just on the door alone, not including the repair work. My gentle loving cat slowly picked at a small tear in the screen door to the point he was able to shimmy out through the slit. He looked so happy being able to wander around outside and be free. Little does he know or care that there are coyotes out there ready to pounce on him for a little snack. I tried to call him to get in the house, and he gleefully ran away from me when I tried to catch him. I gave up and shut the door. About an hour later he changed his tune when he got locked out and couldn't get back in. Now he turns into a whiny, little bitch begging to get in. But for a price.... I picked him up and gave him the "evil eye" for a steady two minutes which got him all squirmy and uncomfortable. All the while I pointed to the torn up patio screen door. At least he looked guilty & contrite for those two minutes. But I didn't want to do this every time he snuck out. Went on google to find a screen door shop near me and found Fuji Screen & Shade. Called on Wednesday and talked with Mr. Fujinami where I felt that English is his second language so I worded my situation of needing cat related repairs in various ways and got feed back from him that he understood & proposed a way to prevent my cat from escaping again. The repairman came Friday morning w/ his truck equiped as a repair shop. He replaced the entire screen w/ a sturdier one. A heavier metal screen about 3 feet high was attached to the door frame on the outside to foil any escape. I wanted the heavier metal screen on the inside since my cat could still tear up the inside screen, but unfortunately that wasn't possible since there is no space for the heavier screen on the inside due to the thick sliding glass door getting in the way. This company is great Even though it took a few days for them to show up because they are obviously busy . Mr Fujinami is a very nice man I'm not sure why all these few other people are leaving bad reviews about him being rude I have never had a bad experience with him he has always been very polite and professional. Maybe you are rude and expect him to be polite back . I have used this company in the past and they have always delivered quality work and very good pricing compared to other companies I called for quotes . Next time I'm not even going to waste my time calling around to get other quotes I'm just going to call Fuji Screen and Shade . I called this place on a Thursday to get a quote and the owner was very helpful and told me he would call me back on Monday to schedule an appointment. I got a message on Tuesday to schedule an appointment. I work nights and I called him back on Thursday (my 1st day off) to say I didn't need his services anymore and to my surprise he got upset and told me why didn't I call sooner. I told him I'm sorry but I work nights and...and he hung up on me!!!!! Very unprofessional! Just know if you do t give him what he wants, his professionalism will quickly go away and will treat you like shit! I will NEVER use or recommend this business, sorry! read more

I just bought a house that had no screens so I called Fuji and he sent someone to my house later that day. When the screen guy came out (I forgot his name... something with a J), I showed him all the windows and he made all the screens in my driveway and popped them in within an hour of arriving. Can't rate the doors or installation. Never made it that far. The aggressive manner of the phone call was enough to turn me off. Called the "Request a quote" number. It was answered with "Who is this?" Maybe that's his shorthand for "Hello, this is Fuji, how can I help you?" but couple that curt greeting with the constant talking over me, putting in a request is the last thing that would happen. After the struggle to get a quote, he ended with "Okay, bye." Just like that. We hadn't even finished the conversation. He was done, phone down. If you can handle the brusque manner to get to the next stage, more power to you. Not for me. read more
