I ordered a beverage, took two sips, and immediately told the waitress that something was wrong with it. It honestly tasted as though someone had poured perfume into the drink instead of alcohol. I explained that I could not drink it and asked for something else instead. I did not finish the drink and then complain about it. I took two sips, immediately brought the problem to her attention, and returned it. When the check arrived, I noticed that I had been charged for both the undrinkable drink I returned and its replacement. When I politely pointed out that the first drink had not been removed, the reaction was astonishing. Neither person said anything. They simply stared at each other with blank looks and then somberly walked back to the register, as though I had done something wrong by asking them to correct the bill. I should not have had to defend why I should not be charged for a drink that I immediately returned because there was clearly something wrong with it. If the waitress failed to tell the bartender that the drink had been returned and replaced, that was not my responsibility. They eventually brought me a corrected bill. Despite the uncomfortable way the situation was handled, I still calculated my tip on the original total before the drink was removed because I was trying to be gracious. In retrospect, I wish I had not. A simple, "I'm sorry about that, let me fix it," would have ended the matter immediately. Instead, their demeanor made me feel as though I was being difficult or dishonest for raising a completely legitimate issue. The food was very good, but the rudeness at the end of the meal overshadowed what otherwise would have been a very positive experience. No customer should be made to feel that they have to defend themselves for returning an undrinkable drink after two sips.

I can't tell if I can't differentiate the layers or my coconut really didn't have water jelly inside. I could only see/taste the milk jelly parts. The flavor and texture itself is amazing. It's super soft and melts in your mouth texture. Appreciate how they didn't overdo the gelatin (or whatever thickener they use). The coconut flavor is soft and gentle and creamy. They actually add coconut flakes on top. It's nice to have different texture but I can live without it. Or maybe they added it in place of coconut jelly to be another layer?? Having the whole coconut itself makes it feel worth to get the triple layer. However, the coconut meat isn't necessarily the most tender or sweet. They give a plastic spoon and that's barely strong enough to scrape out the flesh. I guess that's why it's better to take it home - to use a metal spoon. My conclusion is that I'd rather get the single or double layer next time. I think I want to try the double layer next so I can explicitly see the coconut water jelly layer to determine if I think it's worth to get or I should just double down on the single layer option of just coconut milk jelly. It also begs the question whether single and double layer is worth it when the triple layer comes with a whole coconut while the former two come in a glass jar. 4.5* but will put 4* until I try more and have a better conclusion.

My fiance got the strawberry matcha with no toppings which was far too tart and overpowered by the strawberry sauce, you couldn't taste the matcha. The order was messed up and they put boba in it after he said he didn't want any boba. By the time he finished most of the tart strawberry, the match was completely watered down. We had asked about the original menu items and if they sell them anymore, and were told that essentially Loose Leaf discontinued all of their drinks. So it sounds like they aren't really in business anymore. The cups they use are different as well and are Pokemoto cups, not Loose Leaf. What a let down, as we were hyping up Loose Leaf to our friends and really looking forward to having some. Guess we'll try the Franklin location to see if they're still in business.
