Yesterday I had my first experience at Fuddruckers. I had seen so many reviewers reflect on Fuddruckers with such a nostalgic view and I was unsure if it was hyped due to nostalgia, or real quality. I walked in around 6pm yesterday and it's fever dream inside. They are like 2% of a Rainforest Cafe with scattered random decor- a rhinoceros head on the wall, a pirate guarding the bathrooms, old school signs and my favorite- a golf cart two top (which was unfortunately taken). My visit started off weak, the cashier was not very friendly and the AC was out- it was definitely over 85 degrees inside. I started to get hesitant, I asked myself- "why did we come here?" But then- we got out food, and holy moly!! What a juicy, delicious burger with fresh and loaded toppings. I can't tell you the last time I had such a good burger and the sweet potato fries... perfect. The most impressive thing to me was the topping and sauce bar. The toppings were fresh, and they had something for everyone. I am a saucy girl, and having unlimited access to all condiments including a nacho cheese and a jalapeno cheese sauce is beyond my wildest dreams. This place has gone through several changes from last time we visited and now we limited meat burger options such as bison and beef and they come in different sizes from 1/4, 1/2 pound to 1 pound. The also sell creamy shakes, onion rings, crispy chicken tenders, salads and nachos. Paid for 3 meals, I have ate at a Fudruckers before. But today at this new place we have tried is not going on my list of places to eat. If you do want fuds, eat at the one at the mall. The onions and tomatoes looked old, the restaurant was very slow so they had to of been sitting out since 11 am. Not all I enjoy my burgers with tomatoes and onions and today that was not going to fly. Flavor of the burger was okay, I prefer Wendy's over my dinner. This place has been around for a while the food was okay nothing special and well cooked. Staff are friendly when asked questions.

So good to be able to visit places again. Have not been here for a while. Must say service is good, as there was no real line just had to wait your turn to order. Inside is clean and set up better than is used to be. You actually order how well you want your burger cooked. Funny thing is the lady that announces your name so you can pick up your order, you cannot understand a thing she says. It made me laugh as it was like listening to a drive up speaker. Plenty of paper towels on the tables. They did not have the tea dispenser correctly labeled. The sweet tea was non-sweet and the non-sweet was the sweet, I don't have an issue with it it others may. Now a days I always take the toll covid has taken on restaurants as costs have risen and see it as a covid tax. You can no longer build your burger, so if you are specific like me, they will not make it like you expect. No soda refills. The wedge fries are tiny and terribly bland. All Fuddruckers' I've eaten at throughout the country have the same premise, so short of the person on the grill or where each store gets its stuff to hang on the wall the expectation is the same. So without sounding like a commercial.... The pros: beef fresh ground, not frozen - there is a taste difference, buns made on site and do it yourself vegs. The last time I was in a Fuddruckers was back in New Brunswick, New Jersey in the early 1970s. This is known as a nationwide burger joint. They offer 1/3 pound, half pound, 2/3 lb., and 1 pound ("fresh, never frozen") ground beef. According to their menu, there are also chicken sandwiches, salads, and sides like tater tots and onion rings, regular french fries and milkshakes. My wife and I got 1/2 lb. Medium, cooked perfectly. They have both white and wheat fresh-baked rolls. I got my roll on the side because I wanted the Texas chili and cheese on top. From the self-service veggie bar, I added chopped white onions. She got a Budweiser and I got a 20 oz. plastic cup. We ordered the "hand-breaded" onion rings which were very good. The tater tots were ok, but we'll try the regular fries next time. They have a small selection of bottled beers - - nothing exotic, and a very nice variety of Coca-Cola fountain products, self-service. The veggie bar has quite a lot of stuff you can add to your platter at no extra charge. Our check was ~$32 for two of us. We definitely didn't clear our plates! So, it's a good value if you're looking for a really nice burger with all the fixings. It's not pretentious. Just delicious. read more

I went in to pick up the order. They tried my credit card and it would not take. They told me there is an issue with their card machine. They messed with the machine and retried it a few times. I sit here writing this review as my entire family is eating and I'm waiting for them to remake my burger. There were 3 huge mistakes with our order. My son ordered a 1 lb burger as "the Hangover" with an extra egg. Well that came with no eggs, so we had to go back and ask them to add them. They were pretty fast fixing this mistake. Next, I ordered a buffalo burger with the works on wheat. The first thing I noticed was that it was not on a wheat bun, so they handed me a plate with a wheat bun by itself. I went to sit down and eat and found that my burger was not cooked to medium as I asked, but was well done. This was a disappointment. I'm sitting here waiting for my remade burger, having to stand next to the pick up area because my family is sitting in the patio and there is no way I can hear in there. Now, they remade my burger with a white bun again! At least the manager refunded me my meal! That's what took this review from 2 stars to 3. Oh and they forgot the onion ring on my hubbys burger too. Sometimes, when you're on a business trip, it's nice to go somewhere where you get exactly what you expect, with no surprises, and that's exactly what I experienced on this recent visit. Located just off the 25 in north Albuquerque, Fuddruckers has plenty of on-site parking, and was a pleasant environment in an early evening visit. Genesis was the clerk for my order, and she could not have been nicer, more professional, and knowledgeable. I appreciated her awareness of their menu, and she made it a positive ordering situation. I went a bit out of my comfort zone, ordering a half-pound burger with bacon and guacamole, and it was absolutely great! All because of Genesis' recommendation. Added some sweet potato fries, and it was a very good meal. I have always had good experiences at Fuddrucker's across the nation, and this was no exception. I typically have positive experiences here at this location, but this most recent time, my trip was a bit of a disappointment. My friend had tried to order a turkey burger but unfortunately they were out for the night. The restaurant was closing in two hours so we weren't there extremely late. I also tried to order a shake but was told that no more shakes were being made for the night. I was a bit disappointed but it was whatever. I ordered a brownie instead and found that it was dry and it appeared to not be very fresh. My friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich but was given the grilled chicken instead. I offered to bring it to their attention but he said it was alright. Perhaps the worst part was that about ten minutes after ordering, after being denied my chocolate shake, an employee walks out to the dining room with a chocolate shake! After they said they weren't making anymore! She walked around with it as if looking for its owner, and then when she couldn't find them, she gave it to some random customer at the table next to me. They were surprised and thankful and accepted it which is great, but I'm not sure why I was denied my shake if they were still making them. Overall, it was a negative experience and I wasn't impressed with the customer service or the food preparation. I had only been here with work parties. Went for dinner with a friend, it wasn't busy but since it was a Tuesday night I wasn't concerned. Well I guess I was wrong! My burger tasted like it was reheated which is weird since they claim to cook to order. I was sick before I left the restaurant! The bathroom was littered with trash and I heard 2 employees come in and comment on pee being all over the floor in the first stall. When I came out, trash was still all over as was the pee soaked floor! There was a dirty rag hanging from the ceiling above our table, not sure what it was covering but I will never know as that is the last of my time or money they will ever get! We went last night and had a great time! Sure it's not the most high end place.. but they have good food. We enjoyed our burgers. Both of them cooked as we would like. Service was fast because there was not many customers. Our meals were made perfectly, we couldn't finish our meals. When you use Yelp to check-in you get a Free Cookie. The dining area was clean. The only place that needed to be cleaned was the men's restroom. The floor was covered in a small puddle of water and everywhere you stepped it was sticky. That's all I have to say about this place. Visited for lunch Wednesday with a co-worker. Even though we arrived at noon, there was no waiting line. I think we got lucky punk. We saved $6 since my co-worker had a coupon peeler for a bogo burger. We ordered 1/2 pound, well done, with fries and iced tea. We were part of a bigger work group and even though we ordered five minutes before the other ten guys, most of them got their burgers before us. Quite upsetting when you are super hungry. The condiment bar is top notch, including spicey mustard, regular mustard, cheddar AND jalapeño hot cheese, frie sauce, ketsup, a huge assortment of hot sauces, and fresh jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, and diced onions. The only thing missing was the Hatch green chile. The unsweetened tea was good, and that was expected. The lemons seemed old; mostly withered, small and not juicy. My burger was overcooked, coming out well done instead of medium well. The bun was much too big for the patty and I had bread left over for the birds after finishing. Their fries are sub-par, crispy outside but much too mushy on the inside. If we had paid full price I would have felt cheated. If you want an average burger with a huge bun, fries that easily lose to McDonald's, with a great condiment bar, then visit here. You won't be disappointed. read more
