Everything was great until we started having problems. Jimmy helped for a while then totally quit. Had to go to manufacture to get things working. Plus he charged me to help with problems with our phone app and never finished helping. Don't trust him! Of course he would say something completely different. It was NOT Comcast, I was asking for help for the app. You had me download something Charged me $50.00=== and never got back to me even after several phone calls. I called Freedom systems to setup a consultation for security cameras. Jimmie showed up on time and gave me a lot of helpful information over and above what I was seeking. The quote was a few hundred dollars less than other's I've received, and the other companies took a week to schedule a consult. I settled on Hikvision 4 megapixel cameras and matching 8 Channel NVR. His installer was at my house about a week later installing the cameras. Installer Din, I think his name was, did a wonderful job hiding and securing all wires. He was courteous as well. About a month later, I noticed one of the camera feeds looked different than the other three. Jimmie had his installer swap the camera out for a new one. The system has been working flawless ever since. I had to contact Jimmie once more because Comcast changed my modem and the settings needed to be setup again. Jimmie replied after hours and followed up with a phone call the next morning, walked me through the setup. I'm very happy with the professional service and follow up commitment from Freedom Systems. We've contacted other security system companies, but they charge an arm and a leg for non-wired systems. After reading a rave for Freedom Systems, we contacted them (way back when) and after working with them (they didn't charge us an arm and a leg for a non-wired system), I'm happy to say all the scheduling issues (on my end) were worth the wait given the ease of working with them. Freedom Systems were a delight to work with and were extremely flexible with our schedule and even worked with the system that came with our house. They went above and beyond the call of duty and were a pleasure to work with. They answered all of our questions, researched different options for us, were more than helpful, extremely knowledgeable and are local to West Seattle. The first time Jimmie knocked on my door, he had his business card in my hand before I'd even extended my hand to shake his. Jimmie is an awesome guy to work with! Very professional assessment of the property, didn't try any "up-selling,"and gave honest recommendations on equipment to use. He worked to fit my budget and did a nice job of explaining things along the way. Come installation day, the tech showed up on time and breezed through the install. DVR, CAT-5 cable all through the house, mounting the cameras, running the network setup, explaining the setup to me, checking the feeds, etc. All of it couldn't have gone smoother! We are a business in Lynnwood and needed to cover our warehouse and offices with security cameras. We got 3 quotes and Jimmie was not the cheapest one but was the most transparent and clear on how everything was going to work. Not only that, from the 3 quotes Jimmie was the only one to clearly state the brand of camera, the pixels, the model and the DVR. The other people where not disclosing enough info, which made me doubt. The whole installation of 10 cameras in a 4000sq feet facility was done in 2 days. Jimmie then came back to the office and explained all the functions of the cameras, installed an app in my phone for remote viewing and spent maybe 1 hours doing that. I recommend these guys 100%. After a few minor thefts / vandalism incidents we decided it was time for security cameras. I called 3 different companies, including Freedom Power Systems Inc. These guys were the most confident in their presentation and how they could meet our needs, and they were 100% correct. Everything happened within the time frame they estimated, the cost was not a penny over what we agreed to (it was a little less, in fact), the system they installed does exactly what they said it would (and more), the techs and the owner were professional and courteous working around a house full of family members safely social-distancing and masked when needed. Oh, AND when I had some technical difficulties (user error on my part), they responded quickly and got me straightened out promptly. I would absolutely recommend them and will be having them back out for some home automation projects in the near future. read more

This is an updated review on this contractor as when we left a previous negative review, Jimmie (the owner) threatened us with a law suit to remove the review so we opted to update our review to include more details. We gave the contractor the chance to come and fix the system they installed but with no response. It just makes me wonder how many customers did remove their negative review for this contractor to avoid confrontation with him. We hired this contractor around November 2014 to install security camera system for our office building. Jimmie came and gave us a competitive quote below other companies. I did not have a chance to ask him about his network certification or experience during the visit which is something I am regretting as a simple phone call to manufacturer tech support during installation can take 90 min or more with most of that is hold time. About 2 weeks after signing the contract, Jimmie came with 2 technicians to deliver the equipment and gave instructions to install the cams in the locations we discussed. The job could not finish in the first few days as not all parts were available such as camera wall mounts. Jimmie stated that he is busy with another business he runs and we have to wait until February (about 4 months later). Finally they came back to attempt finishing the job but in the mean time the cameras they installed had such a low quality that they started rusting (see attached picture). We confronted Jimmie that these cameras are not the high quality ones he charged us extra for to install but he rejected that and stated that they are out of the same Chinese factory as the high quality ones but do not have the brand name logo printed on them. After some research online and getting in touch with the HikVision USA office, we found out that these "no-logo" cameras and Video recorders are a Chinese compatible version but have been updated with English software. It was also stated that if we try to upgrade these units again to latest software version, it will switch back to Chinese. We tried to upgrade the Digital Video Recorder "DVR" to the newest software version but could not do so and had to stay with the old software as delivered. I, as a hardware engineer, also noticed lower grade components used in these cams compared to their US version. The case had to go to a small claim court and even after we paid the contractor, they only changed some of the cameras that have gone bad to the US version ones but refused to change the rest of them as they were running back then. To make a long story short, the job took over 2 years and was not finished to our satisfaction. Some of the "Chinese version" cameras have stopped responding to the DVR and no longer record (see last picture). Also the DVR skips few seconds between the frames all the time. There were also behaviors that I would consider unprofessional. The cameras come with a connecter jacket to avoid moisture penetration. None of these were installed by the techs as they stated that they never install them. Now it could be that with no moisture protection these connectors have been oxidized with time and that is why some of the cams stopped working. One advice I would give if you hire this contractor, make sure the contract states that all additional work must be authorized in writing with prices prior to the work performance. This contractor ended up billing us for work that we thought is a part of the original job but he wanted over $700 additional for it. I have been in business for over 25 years and this is by far the worst contract performance I have ever gotten. I see lots of "one line" reviews stating that this contractor did a great job installing an alarm system but this was not our experience. After spending over $10,000 and 100s of hours (as we had to be available when they work on site), we ended up with a flaky working system and cameras that keeps on going bad one after the other. Last one went bad 2 weeks ago. It was not a good experience. read more

This review isn't really about the company personnel, pricing, or any interaction since I haven't been able to reach them. I prefer initial contact to be via phone rather than filling out a web-form or sending an email. That first contact lays the foundation for my decision in hiring a company. I attempted to call your office at 206-274-9946 several times (verified the number via your website just in case). Upon pressing either 1 for sales or 0 for the operator, I ended up being transferred to someone with Kaiser-Permanente each time. You may want to check your phone service and get things corrected. Not a good first impression for a company that is trying to sell equipment and a service that is technology based. read more

I highly recommend Freedom Systems if you are considering a new or updated (wireless) security and home automation system. Jimmie has provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process, answering numerous questions and customizing the installation to suit our needs. The installation technician was also very competent and collaborative. We went from an outdated landline alarm system managed by an expensive, faceless national company to an up-to-date wireless system with security cameras and a web and smartphone interface. Jimmie and the installer spent all the time we needed walking through the numerous features of the new system. It's rare these days you encounter a business that is not trying to upsell you and convince you into purchasing something you don't need. In addition, businesses have replaced customer service with a sense of entitlement as if you are required to purchase something. With that being said, my experience with Jimmie is everything far and above what I would expect as the definition of customer service. I travel a lot and the wife wanted a security system which I kept pushing off because we live in the "safest" place imaginable, until about a week ago when someone broke onto the property and stole over 15K worth of stuff. I did a lot of research, I am extremely technical and searched around for several providers to interrogate with my VAST SECURITY EXPERTISE WOHAHAHA! I had this laundry list of commercial grade equipment that would make Fort Knox jealous and was ready to go on the defensive with any vendor that tried to pull the wool over my eyes! Jimmie showed up and listened to me ramble on incoherently about all this gear I wanted and he actively listened to me until the end and then brought me out of orbit and down to this planet and explained to me clearly the reality of what I am looking for. He was able to take the emotion out of recent events and bring fiscal responsibility to the conversation while giving me optimum security. One of the features I wanted was a camera system with auto tracking with zoom. He explained why those features would not benefit me in anyway with my security goals in mind. He also changed the focus from the front of the property to the back of the property with my camera system which actually made a lot of sense because that is where I am most secluded and my big ticket items will be. We also did an alarm which was a VERY thorough experience. Jimmie spent several hours with us just understanding our habits, wife fears (I am a guy and fearless, HONESTLY!) and surveyed the interior of the house to determine optimum locations for the install. He was very detailed in recommending a panel location and I felt really comfortable like I had known the guy forever and someone I would trust in my house immediately without me around. The install was immaculate and clean, no wires, no crooked devices and NOTHING missed. I am an extremely picky person and my experience was the best I have had with any company as far back as I remember. I wish these guys did everything because they would be my go to for anything related to my house. read more
