I've tried the tortas at La Capirucha, and they are amazing! The portions are huge, packed with fresh vegetables, and the service is always the cherry on top. The tortas are gigantic! Plus, the tejuino drink brings back fond memories of Mexico--it's so good! I can't wait to come back. If you haven't been here yet, you absolutely have to! The ambiance is always so relaxing, it's so inviting and welcoming ! It makes you feel at home. read more

I had called in to make an order for 2 tortas especiales on my lunch break, I made sure to call ahead so I wouldn't spend my whole lunch break there. They quoted me 15 minutes so ok I go in 15 minutes to pick them up and I get there they haven't even started -_- so the timer goes off on my phone my lunch is up I told them I only wanted my co workers torta I wasn't going to eat I felt bad but why am I going to buy something I can't even eat ? The kid was upset saying that it was already done but I explained to them they should of quoted me longer because I didn't want it anymore and I won't be coming back :( there's only 2 people working at a time so I'll just order from frutas now on. Horrible service :) paid and waited 20 minutes for a smoothie that never came out. Customers who came in after and ordered after me got their items before me. Items that take longer to make such as fresas con crema. It was literally just pineapple, sugar and ice. Do better. read more

Came in about 30 minutes before they closed but they still took the time to explain the menu as it was our first time there. We never felt rushed. We ordered the strawberries with cream (fresas con crema) and bionicos and they tasted wonderful with just the right amount of sweetness. They also gave a huge portion. Thereafter they checked on us to make sure we liked what we ordered. Great service. I would definitely come back. read more

First time at this place. Glad me and my co-worker tried this place for lunch. The place was very clean. The service was very nice and friendly. And the food was delicious. The torta especially did not disappoint. It had ham, Lomo, and turkey with avocado and a nice Chipotle sause. It was excellent. It was also a very big serving. I was left very full. Also, this isn't just your common Mexican fruit spot. They had a lot of good Mexican munchies and snack options that I don't see at other basic fruterías. Great fruit salads and smoothies. Very fresh taste. Gets a little hot in the summer but nothing wrong with that! :) price is decent and food (torta lomo) is delicious. Parking is good and you don't need to scatter around the parking lot just to go and enjoy a delicious smoothie. Seating is tight but doable. They have about 2-3 tables available. I will definitely be coming back and looking forward to try more items on the menu! read more

Love this place, the Torta de lomo is good as heck, wish it had some beans on it but it's still delicious with a bite of lomo and cheese and chipotle sauce in every bite. The bionicos are delicious and the licuados are awesome. The tuna Sandwhiches made to perfection I love it here. The customer service is actually polite and greet with a smile and get you in an out. Does kind of take a while for them to make the food but yet it's Worth the wait. Highly recommend this place read more

My wife and I had a craving for a few raspados yesterday so we decided to take a drive to see what we could find and we came across this place which is right across the street from Costco. The menu was quite substantial, however, it was a bummer to see that they only had three different kinds of raspados as opposed to some fruterias that have more than ten. My husband and I love this place. we also love to support small business when we can. This place is family owned, when you are in Chula Vista, and want some good home made meals this place gives you a good plate fresh, and great about of food. we always get their torta. although I've tried their fruit salads and other sides and would get it again. read more

I just paid $6.50 for the acai bowl.. or more like Costco acai ice cream that was supposed to be made from scratch. people need to make these acai bowls. They sell the ice cream at Costco for $12 for a big jug of acai sorbet that I buy all of the time. I feel so cheated right now. The strawberries taste like alcohol. You know what that means. They aren't fresh. It took them literally a minute to put together since that's what it really is. I am never coming here again. Get the real deal at sprouts. It takes them 5 minutes but they make everything from scratch by adding bottled juices and fruits. They're also only $5. I'm so disappointed right now. read more

The place was empty when I came in so they got my order pretty fast. I just ordered a Strawberry Banana Smoothie (w/milk). Cashier was nice and delivered the drink to my table. They had cyclone fan screwed on the wall along with the A/C which kept it nice and cool for me to enjoy the Spanish dubbed TV show they had playing. We went to this place just because we were in the area and looking for something cold and refreshing. We got the tejuino and a cucumber, lime and chia water. My BF rated the tejuino 3 out of 5 stars because it needed the sour element that you can only get from the TJ lemon ice cream which is a natural homemade sour ice-cream and my drink was cool and refreshing but I only tasted the cucumber and needed more lemon too. Overall it was ok, but I would probably try a different fruteria next time until we find perfection. read more

Very delicious biónicos and açai bowls, the biónico is especially great with a lot of fruits variety, I have been to a few who just give mostly apples, these people put papaya pineapple and many others it also has a lot pf crema, the couple are very nice people too read more

And had started making an order that was ordered after mine!!! Best tortas ever. They are very friendly and very accommodating. They have amazing food but the torta especiales are just hands down the best tortas I have ever had. We moved out of the state and were so sad to leave because where will we get tortas? Came back for vacation and had to come again to get our tortas that we love. read more
