My wife purchased a Goorin hat years ago when they had a spot in Portland. That hat traveled the world with her until we lost it in South America. As a surprise birthday trip, I took her to Atlanta so she could replace said hat. Long story short, she walked out with 4 hats. Everyone had such a great time shopping the hats and she was so happy to be reunited with not one beautiful fedora but 4. One was on super sale and the others were all half of what I was expecting them to be. The woman working even swapped out the ribbon on one of them for another color, and was great about helping with sizing. I was told when I made the return that all I'd need was my ID -- the store keeps the slip on file. When I gave my name and ID, the associate couldn't find my slip. Instead of continuing to look thoroughly, he accused me of already using the credit or that it wasn't in my name, suggesting I was trying to get over on the store. This was said in front of other customers, which left me feeling humiliated, disrespected, and singled out. I later found a picture of my slip and saw the store had made the error -- my name was written incorrectly on their end. Which was funny because I was told it was my fault and that in all the years the store had been operating, they had "never made a mistake." My name starts with an "S" why was there an "M" on the slip, I have no clue. Even after it was clear I was right, there was no apology or effort to make things right. In that moment, I did not feel I was given the same respect or fair treatment that another customer might have received. The entire interaction was unprofessional and extremely disappointing.

I decided to get the one LL made popular in the late 80s in both luscious light blue and simple sandy brown. The guy at the register acted like he barely understood English until it was time to pay. At which time he clearly cut me a deal and waved my tax + $5 on each hat. Not bad.
