I was told when I made the return that all I'd need was my ID -- the store keeps the slip on file. When I gave my name and ID, the associate couldn't find my slip. Instead of continuing to look thoroughly, he accused me of already using the credit or that it wasn't in my name, suggesting I was trying to get over on the store. This was said in front of other customers, which left me feeling humiliated, disrespected, and singled out. I later found a picture of my slip and saw the store had made the error -- my name was written incorrectly on their end. Which was funny because I was told it was my fault and that in all the years the store had been operating, they had "never made a mistake." My name starts with an "S" why was there an "M" on the slip, I have no clue. Even after it was clear I was right, there was no apology or effort to make things right. In that moment, I did not feel I was given the same respect or fair treatment that another customer might have received. The entire interaction was unprofessional and extremely disappointing.

I'm a fan of Ace Hardware in general because each store feels like a small, local, and unique business. This one especially so. It's popular among locals with a strong sense of neighborhood and community. And, like other city Ace Hardware stores, it was densely-packed with all sorts of useful hardware and garden items. If you've never visited this location before, be sure to check out the beautiful plant room. They have a good selection of plants and a big wall of seeds. They even sell King of Pops here. Limited free parking is available on-site. I visited during a peak time and was able to snag a spot. If no spots are available, just park on Drewry St NE (also free). They took down my info and worked to track down the hat that I wanted, notified me that they found it and set it aside for me, and then worked with my to place my order over the phone and same day ship it. Their showroom is located in the same complex as Cooks and Soldiers but the door to their showroom is located at the top of the parking lot and their is no sign. Now this might throw some people off, but for me, I thought it added to the low-profile sort of under the radar that I love about this brand. Once inside, Mike from CMMP showed me around their loft space, poured me a drink of scotch and we checked out some of their suiting options, shirts, and different fabrics. After about an hour of messing around with different options, we took a ton of measurements which, I liked because I have had a few made-to-measure shirts where they only took like 8-10 measurements and the shirts came out like shit. Fast forward a few weeks, came back for my fitting, super happy and shirts fit great. Next up, going to get a winter jacket for fall.

My husband wears an XL and they never seem to have any. The sales ladies are/were kind enough to special order several shirts in his size and hold them in the back until we could come back and try them on- which was 2 weeks later! I was shocked when we came back that the wonderful sales lady remembered us AND our names! Talk about service! We walked out with every shirt in his size and a stunning retro hot pink wool coat for me! Love this location and will definitely come back again!!
