What an amazing health food / grocery store I never knew existed in town. First of all, there needs to be more of these Fruitful Yields South of here like in Channahon but it's a very convenient store full of everything imaginable. Store is really small with a few aisles to make your shopping trip quick. It absolutely felt like I was in a time capsule (in a good way) but this place has tons of great food items and harder to find cooking items. This is THE PLACE to shop at if you're a vegan or have strict dietary restrictions. From soaps, essential oils, veggies, ice cream, cereals, energy drinks and so much more, this place has it all. It's definitely pricey but it's worth a visit and a greater alternative to the Fresh Thyme market near by. read more

I come to this store all the time to buy refreshments for my shift at the Pizza Hut just around the corner. I just had to leave a comment because one of the employees saved me some coconut oil toothpaste gel when I showed interest in trying it, and I thought that was so thoughtful! Kinda of a ballsy location being right next to a Dominick's. Inside felt like more like a GNC place than an organic grocer. Pretty much, the store specializes in anything organic and they try to carry as much as they can with little store space. Besides dry organic foods (with about 3 regular sized grocery aisles worth of selection), they had an area dedicated to vitamins and medicines and a freezer/dairy section in the back. While it seemed like they had everything, they didn't exactly. We were looking for organic meats and a meat counter or frozen meats was something that this store didn't have. They had various soda bottles like Hanson's, Reed's, and Virgil's root beer just to name a few. Obviously the prices aren't going to be cheap but, they were cheaper than the organic section at most stores. We picked up some cottage cheese and the girl at the register pointed out that its expiration date was listed as today and as a result of store policy, we scored a 20% discount, which is a great idea since organic foods (especially perishables) have a short shelf life and wish grocery stores in general would adopt this policy. read more

I love this store. I love that there are vegan options so close to my home. No longer need to drive to Whole Foods to get the staples like Earth Balance. The staff are so friendly and I know a couple by name just from being in there so often. Yolanda you are my favorite! Loses one star because the selection is lacking compared to the Fruitful Yield in Darien / other locations. When it first opened I feel like there was more of a selection. The shelves sort of feel empty a lot of the time. The Darien location has produce - please get produce then you will be my favorite and I won't have to go anywhere else! read more

The store has a wonderful selection of health food items that I can never find in most grocery stores in Joliet (Dominicks, Jewel Osco, etc.). For that reason alone, I keep coming back. My primary complaint is with the level of knowledge the staff seems to have about their own products. I once went there looking for seitan and asked a staff person if they had any. The woman then took me to a refrigerated case where they had tempeh. She told me "it's pretty much the same thing" which is NOT true at all. They don't taste the same and they are completely different products. If she had told this to someone who has a gluten allergy (seitan contains gluten, tempeh does not) this could have been problematic. I ended up driving to Whole Foods in Naperville for my seitan, as I don't know of any stores in Joliet that sell any. A second time I went there, I asked a different staff person if they had any nutritional yeast. She then took me to the nutrition section, which did not have nutritional yeast. She seemed to not know what it was. I ended up finding the nutritional yeast on my own after much searching. I recommend this place only if you have a solid knowledge of what they already carry, or are willing to spend time to search the shelves. Just don't rely on the staff to know anything. read more

I live at least 40 miles away from Fruitful Yield. This is the closest. I shop here primarily after church since the two are near one another. We all know that almost every item on the planet is available at www.Ama-you-know-who, and I can tell you some items that I love and use every day are cheaper at Fruitful Yield even for the non-sale items. For this I give them a Big woo hoo & a big **High Five** :D. The staff are lovely. Everyone is so helpful and sweet. The shop is small enough so that one can park very close with a few steps to get inside. Yet they are big enough to carry fresh produce, dairy, frozen GF items, Vegan, Vegetarian, grass-fed, on so on with edibles. They have every supplement you can think of to pet foods, essential oils, body care, snacks, pickles, sauces, breakfast items, every dang nut you can think of plain, roasted, raw and or salted and coated with cinnamon,"eco and fair trade" chocolates, Eco-friendly laundry, picnic supplies, candles, and some Bug Away products to keep mosquitoes at bay. What else do you need to know? Its ALL GOOD. read more

While they do "carry" a lot of items that other shops don't, they don't always have the items in stock, so it's kind of hard to give them a great review. However when the items are in stock, their prices are pretty reasonable. The staff does lack a lot of the knowledge that you'd expect from a health food store however they are friendly and pleasant. This is one of the nicest Fruitful Yield stores I have ever been in. I am a fan of Siete Chips. They had all of the flavors. Also a great variety of low carb products. Good selection of vitamins and supplements. I know that I will be making regular visits to this store to pick up what I need to maintain good health. read more

This place has NOTHING going for it. It is the premise of a health food store. The people that work there are completely ignorant to most anything regarding health food or nutrition. I have been in there 4 different times to check it out and each time I was disappointed in the knowledge and the service. And forget it if you call them they are slow and hesitant to give any information about anything, esp if you ask for a price. They have a weak variety of products too. The have the now brand and not much of any thing else. Nothing unique. I'll shop elsewhere! not a big chain like them. read more

The Staff is Friendly, Helpful, and they Know the Product lines that they carry. Yes, there's LOTS of NOW products, however there are other Products on the Shelves as well. I surely don't know it all even though I've been involved with Health related products for sometime I can still learn IF only I'm willing to ASK, and KEEP MY EARS OPEN to the Answer(s). Some of the Employees have VAST KNOWLEDGE which they are openly willing to share. I'm also 100% Gluten Free, and am pleased with most all of the items they carroty that address that issue. read more

This is one of my favorite local health stores. It carries many supplements that I need at a better price than I can find elsewhere, and the shelves are always well-organized. I like how the store is small so it is easy to get in and out and find things quickly, and it is very clean and maintained well. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming, and they greet me at the door every time I shop. The cashiers are great and helpful as well, especially a stylishly-dressed young man (I think his name is Cameron) who is always very efficient and professional. I love Fruitful Yield, but, in this particular location the staff is not as friendly and especially not as knowledgeable. I have been shopping at the other locations but, needed something important and this location is closer. Was very very disappointed that no one seemed cable of helping me. My suggestions that staff here get better training to bring them up to the knowledge of the other locations. read more

So glad there is one so close to home. I can get everything from cold medicine to protein shakes here. Far cheaper then GNC, the mall, or any other health food store. The staff is always friendly & willing to help you find what you need or something close to it. They do have a rewards/frequent buyer program, but it is weak and takes a long time to accumulate. I recommend Fruitful Yield! I was sick for 6 days. I was having a gallstone or inflammation attack symptoms. The employee there recommended a solution to my issue and said I would feel better immediately. She was absolutely right! I felt better immediately. I was afraid to eat because the pain on my right side and my esophagus was severe. My daughter took me to this store in Plainfield Il so I can experience all the healthy benefits. Just love this store! If you are looking for Gluten Free products, they have them. I was blown away with the selection in this store! You cannot find these items at almost any other store around. Just love it and it is my basic store for shopping! They also have some (not a lot) of grass fed meats as well as many organic meats too. LOVE THIS STORE!! read more
