The good: the burgers are excellent. There's a good selection of menu items that aren't super common. The meh: they are frequently out of different menu items. The fries are meh. Many of the sundaes are just vanilla ice cream with different flavored syrups drizzled on top. The bad: the service is atrocious. Easily the worst in town. Your order will take 30 minutes to come out, minimum, even if you just order one meal, even if you're the only one there. If there are other people there, you'll be there for so long that, congratulations, you live there now. Calling ahead is an option, but they only answer the phone about 25% of the time. And calling multiple times in a row will not help. Overall definitely worth going to if you have the time to wait, and definitely one of the best restaurants in town. read more

Stopped for an ice cream cone. Outside not too inviting. Building needed paint, windows and doors washed. I side a couple young ladies manning the counter. Ordered, picked up the order and sat down. Then I looked at the floor which appeared to not have been cleaned in a year or so. Filthy. The garbage bin was full and the outside had signs of food from some time ago having dripped down the side. I cant't imagine how this place 1) passes a health inspection and 2) why the owner has absolutely no pride of ownership. Needless to say? I won't be back. read more

I just left the frosty mill for the first time Has the " world burger" 1/2 lb. Meat and cheese with all the right stuff Onion rings and a coke.. I would not have found this place without the recommendation of a friend and so glad that I found a great little burger joint in a town that I pass through frequently. My friend and I were discussing the pros & cons of the burger joints in town and what stuck out to me is this place had comfort food and ice cream. Now you can get burgers here of various toppings but the name of the place is Frosty Mill. Super kid friendly, family friendly and of course any age friendly. My World Burger was great, it was so much that I would opt for the smaller serving next time. Checking out the menu did indeed express a lot of fried foods that I would be interested in. The service was fast, very helpful in shake flavors and offerings. Described the burger types and of course they make everything fresh. I essentially enjoyed the fantastic value of the milkshake but next time I may opt for the large cone that they turn upside down into a large cup and the kids love it. Inside was clean throughout but it's a small restaurant, seating about 25 people. Some outside seating as well. read more

We were passing through and most of the reviews said the food was great! I'm still waiting on my food, but this is what I've observed. Multiple people in and out with no cleaning of tables. I asked several times for a towel, as I'd clean it but was told to hold on. My husband asked and cleaned our table. Unfortunately, that was worse! The towel smelled of really old, soured water. This left the table smelling like that. My one kid moved to another, yep....dirty table because of the smell. The food was really good. So, I'd recommend ordering to go. Just makes me wonder how clean they are in the back. Granted, there were only two people working and they were super busy. read more

I wasn't really hungry, just needed to use the facilities, IYKWIM, but after reading the reviews, I had to stop by for a chocolate malt and fries. Not a fan of ketchup, but I do like extra salt. Several salt packets were in the bag with the fries! I used them all, lol! I never go small on the malt, and usually pay between $8-10 bucks for a large at these small burger spots. But both the "Super" 32 ounce malt and large fries were only $11. There was a large group ahead of me, but I received my order in less than 10 minutes. These thick cut fries can be tough to cook thoroughly, but they did. Delicious! The malt is super alright - super chocolately. I'm not tasting much malt. But I like a lot of malt. The restroom was small but clean, with a newer looking pull down paper towel dispenser and push to dispense soap dispenser. I'll stop by again on my next visit to Susanville. W read more

We showed up with a party of 8 at 7:35 pm tonight and the girls working said they closed at 7:30 but they closed at 8:00. Lied And refused our business so we left and they missed out on our business... not a Merry Christmas. Thumbs down. read more

I've been visiting Eagle Lake to camp nearly every summer since my childhood, yet somehow it took me being nearly 40 to find this place. Frosty Mill is everything I expected it to be. Drab interior bordering on dilapidated. Believe me when I say no frills aesthetic. But you don't come here for the ambience...you come for the food. Highly recommend the soft serve. As most have noted, portions are outrageous and leave me wanting to be a child again. If you're looking for a greasy spoon burgers and shakes spot that's different from your standard fast-food chain fare, consider this a place worth stopping. read more

Waited 35 minutes for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, chicken sandwich, and one order of fries. The restaurant was dirty and full of flies. Decided to eat our food in the car with doirs open no fly problem. The restroom was disgusting. The food and ice-cream prices are reasonable but sodas are astronomical. This was the worst food I have experienced in a long time. The food was flavorless, and expensive in addition to the long wait we experienced (over 25min for 2 burgers). We ordered 2 burgers, 1 order of fries, 1 diet drink and 1 shake (the shake was runny at best and had an odd aftertaste), and our bill was almost $50! This is a place that offers no services except cooking your food which was poorly cooked - but the thing that topped this terrible experience is the poor customer service. The girl that took our order was rude at best and almost borderline angry with us when we asked a question. I would avoid this place and go down to the lumberjack, get your moneys worth and edible food. read more

This little gem along Hwy139 In California had the best tasting burgers. Seasoned perfectly, soft warm buns, fresh tomatoes , lettuce, onions with their best special sauce. As always I looked up the best spot for lunch while in Susanville, Calif. I always look up the best French fries. It's super important for me to get the properly cut steak fries. Shoe string fries are not my faves. Frosty mill was the spot for me. I asked a couple of people where they recommended for lunch and we were told gristly mills and that the mozzarella sticks were a must. Feisty mills is about 1/2 a mile from the Main Street in town (that's what it's called). It's a little spot doesn't catch attention. As soon as you walk in there's the menu on the wall. The prices are very very reasonable. We ordered two burgers, two fries and an order of mozzarella sticks and it was a total of $21. Not bad. The fries were bomb...just fried to perfection. Let's not mention those Mozzarella sticks...the hype is real. They are super crunchy and pair well with their ranch. The cheeseburger was smaller than most burgers out there but super filling. We could not leave frosty mills without trying their ice cream cones. Super yummmyyyy. I will definitely be back. My only complain are the bees inside the restaurant. There were about 5 bees wondering inside by the windows. Seems like there might be a bee hive nearby and they got stuck inside. Super scary. That should definitely be looked at. read more

I had the World burger with cheese and onion rings both were very good. Located just about a 1/2 mile off the Main Street (highway 36) WELL WORTH the short drive off of Main Street if you want a very good hamburger. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for your food but the burgers are hand patted and made to order. read more

Not great. I ordered a peanut butter shake, extra thick. It was not extra thick, it wasn't even regular thick! It was thin and runny. Also, they use soft serve. I have had soft serve shakes at tons of other places, and they are good. For whatever reason, here, the soft serve seemed like it had separated and was icy and slightly watery. I had heard that the food here was not great, but they do a good job on anything ice cream related. Apparently, they don't do a good job on either. Will not be back. read more

The restroom now has a key and ruler attached as the key chain to open the bathrooms that are located inside. When you're done with the key it is returned back to the counter where the food is placed for pick-up. This is highly unsanitary and needs to be addressed asap by the owner. A bathroom key should never be placed anywhere near customers food. read more
