I sought help from them for rehoming a 12 year old dog (not my dog), and they were extremely unprofessional and told me he was better off dead. "I don't even want to get involved." "We don't take dogs from bad owners." "A little bit of pink juice is better than what he's dealing with." I don't get aggravated easily, but they really struck a nerve with me. They couldn't even give me an alternative number to call and hung up on me. I was literally shaking with anger by the time they hung up on me. Needlesss to say, I personally will never recommend them to anyone. Ever. *Edit since the owner has replied* I was not "screaming" at them. Was I aggravated? Yes. Screaming and yelling? No. I was speaking in a tone that obviously let them know I was unhappy, but I do not scream. Additionally, the dog was not locked in a crate as they are claiming he was. He was in a large fenced dog run, and I explained that to them. I also explained that I had known the dog since he was born and that he was a very laid-back dog and did not require extensive exercise to "burn off" any energy. The only recommendation they gave me was a guess of a name of a rescue, with no additional information. No phone number, no website--nothing. Additionally, I will reiterate that I am not the owner of the dog and I was not the one that would have had any say of wether or not he would have been dropped off at a shelter, nor was he even in my back yard. I do not appreciate this organization misrepresenting what I had explained to them during their very poorly-handled phone call. read more

We cannot say enough positive things about FFF! From the moment of our initial inquiry, until adopting our senior gal, and now fostering another little love nugget, my husband and I are so impressed by the compassion, honesty and professionalism of this non-profit! Every staff member has been very responsive to both email and text- anything we need is provided. We had never adopted a senior dog before, and did not know what to expect. I am very happy that our family chose Frosted Faces Foundation- our family felt very supported throughout the entire process! We now recognize and appreciate that Seniors have SO MUCH love, devotion and loyalty to offer their families! We highly recommend this amazing rescue group! read more

A friend and I are trying to find a rescue group that would take two elderly dogs that belong to a very ill neighbor. The lady at this foundation asked my friend if she was willing to make a "significant" donation for the care of these dogs. The donation was $5,000 per dog. These aren't even our dogs. The woman said that most people make arrangements for their dogs in a living trust. It was pointed out the neighbor has no assets and there was no way we would have these dogs euthanized. This foundation was no help at all. read more

I really wanted to adopt from this place and my cat passed over a year ago so I really wanted to go somewhere nice and loved the reviews, I finally thought I was ready and was trying to contact to get an appointment, when I called it went to voicemail and I couldn't hear exactly what the email was and thought it was a store phone so I called a second time got it right and called one last time to make sure I got the right email, I get an answer the last call saying "what do you want?" I now think I am calling the wrong number with this unprofessional response, I ask if I am and she says "no it's the right number but you keep calling and calling what do you want?" Said I was just trying to get the email but nevermind, I understand you want to enjoy your days off but wish you could respond like on your days on because I would think you would still want people to visit your establishment. Very upsetting. I have never left a review before but felt I should share my experience. read more

I apologize for my remark, I was so anxious to adopt a dog that when you said no, it broke my heart. I do not however recall anyone telling me firmly to not call. I do believe your heart is in the right place and you have done well in rescuing many dogs. I did rescue a sweet senior from the humane society and she is flourishing and we love both our dogs alot. I cannot say enough nice things about this rescue!! Kelly and the volunteers have been so helpful. I have adopted two frosted faces and they are always very quick for any questions I have or concerns. This is the most organized and kind rescue I've ever seen in my life!!!!!!! read more

This is my favorite senior foster organization. They go out of there way to help senior animals and are incredibly committed to this goal. Unfortunately they have rules related to their rescues that some seem to disagree with. I find it interesting that some people expect them to change their rules for them. It is sad to see people trashing the good work of others, especially those that are trying to get rid of their senior dogs. read more

I love this senior dog rescue. Kelly and Andy (the owners that started Frosted Faces Foundation) have devoted their lives to this rescue. Nicest people you could ever met. They are up front in what they know about each dog. The senior dogs are saved from various pounds around Southern California. Everything they do is insure the seniors get a good loving home. I noticed many of the fosters have taken more then one dog and come back after their senior passes for another dog. They also have a few cats. They cover medical expenses through donations. Food and other supplies is given to the fosters as it is donated. I have volunteered at other places, their headquarters is the cleanest place I have ever seen. I have been a foster for them for 3 years, my little senior recently passed, but as soon as I am ready, I will definitely go back to them. Whether you are interested in adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating to help the dog and cat seniors this is the place. They have a page on facebook and a website you can go on to see what they do. I have noticed that most of the negative posts on this page are due to people wanting to give Frosted Faces their senior dogs. First off they have to have room for their dog that is being given up or a foster that will take it. Secondly when someone is giving up their dog wouldn't it be better if one of their friends take it. They could see it and still love on it like they claim to do. There are rules in place at this rescue and any good rescue because of the laws they have to follow. These senior dogs are supported by donations. Senior dogs are expensive to take care of because of the medical issues that start to show up as they age. read more

FFF is an amazing rescue organization. We have adopted from several SoCal rescues and I have to say when you foster or adopt from FFF you become part of the FFF family. It is a great network for support and is full of caring dog lovers. Kelly and Andy are amazing and compassionate people and are incredibly successful in their efforts to rescue senior dogs. We feel fortunate to be able to sponsor a few FF dogs and to have our very own FF senior girl. read more

I had a problem with a donation I made on Facebook on their page. On this page where U put the amount it already has $75 I hit the delete mark to wipe this out as I could only afford $15 But, it took the $75! I tried to message them on Facebook and it says we do not take messages on this page..so I emailed them told them what happened explained I really could not afford $75 The response was we do not have much to do with the facebook donations and didn't U really just hit the submit button? Thanks for the donation!!! Now I am mad and upset! I replied NO I did not hit the submit button! I got to looking on the Facebook page and almost all the donations are for $75 from other people so I must not be the only one! I was using Paypal and have turned it over to them and notified my bank. I give regularly to 2 other animal foundations but I saw this and thought it was for senior dogs and I would try and help with what I could. I am 67 and every foundation has several steps U go through to donate but not this one. I am NOT saying they don't do great work, but they were pretty rude to me. And how can Frosted Faces have a Facebook page they have little to do with? read more

We are now on our second foster from the foundation. Our first foster was an amazing experience. We were well supported the whole way through the remaining life of a senior foster dog. Although this foundation is one of the younger rescue groups, it is doing tremendous work and helping numerous senior dogs. I have seen the group grow from few locals into a national support network. Kelly the founder of the organization has made the foundation into one of best rescues in the nation and one of easiet to volunteer with. read more

We spent time with a Frosted Face for over an hour on a Saturday afternoon, and had a chance to speak with a Kennel Manager who had watched her for two weeks. She was able to provide a lot of useful information about the dog, including how she is in a car, what she eats, how she is with other dogs & people, etc. We were very positive about the experience. We discussed with the Kennel Manager that we didn't think we needed to bring in our dog to meet the Frosted Face, as it might not represent a natural setting for them. The Kennel Manager agreed. We applied to adopt her that night and were very much looking forward to having her in our family. The next day we just happen to notice on Instagram that she had been adopted. We were quite sad to see this. We received no notification at all. We also found out afterwards via email that there was more involved in the adoption process than what we had just discussed with the Kennel Manager the day before, including bringing our existing dog with us to FFF for a meeting with the Frosted Face we were interested in. While I am extremely thankful that a organization like Frosted Faces exists to take care of these beautiful senior dogs, I'm very disappointed with our first interaction with Frosted Faces Foundation. read more

I adopted a sweet little chihuahua from Frosted Faces Organization in Ramona. From the very start there were problems and I had second thoughts. I kept all our emails and they show my concerns and the many times the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. I overlooked much for the sake of the animal. IT'S ABOUT WHAT'S BEST FOR THE ANIMALS, NOT OUR STUPID HUMAN EGOS. Per their contract the micromanage the animals they adopt out, so I was just doing what the contract said. One of the 2 emergency on-call volunteers was overwhelmed with her day job and a new baby and complained about my "daily emails" (I had her 9 days, still getting to know what was normal and not with this Special Needs dog!), and the straw that broke the camel's back was my urgent call and email to "the team" after the dog's bowel became impacted. They attacked me for bothering them with that, it's a very long story, but due to being disabled and wheelchair bound and dealing with numerous personal stressors at the time she became ill --I fought back! That was the final straw. She refused to allow me to adopt her back with or without a contract; I offered to take full responsibility and pay for everything. My pastor friend of 19 years even wrote her a letter. This sweet dog loved me and I her--and even Kelly admitted she looked better after 9 days with me than she did at the shelter when I adopted her. I even brought friends with me who also adopted a dog that day. One of them commented several times that Kelly was "anal" about a few things, and "a little off". Just because I told her some truths about herself and her team (some of which she even admitted/agreed to)--she threw the dog and me under the bus. She could be enjoying a loving home with me right now, but is back at the shelter with Kelly--to spite me. They and their volunteers need to rethink the reason they got in this business... read more

I'll start by saying I appreciate that FFF saves senior animals, but that's the only good thing I have to say about them. I recently had an experience with them that left me a bit stunned. I reached out to Kelly to rescue a senior dog in Los Angeles that I was willing to foster. That didn't work out as the dog was rescued by a different group, but then Kelly asked if I would consider a different dog from Coachella. When I found out this was a 15 yr old hospice case, I was a bit worried. Over the past year, I lost 2 dogs and I just wasn't sure I had it in me to take on a dog that was certain to die within a short time. When I shared my concerns, Kelly responded by writing that it was okay for me to say no, that not everyone is cut out for hospice dogs, and the dog would just be euthanized that night or the next morning. Of course, that broke my heart and made me feel incredibly manipulated, so I said I would give it a try so the weight of this dog's death was not on my shoulders. I filled out the application and set up a home check. The woman that showed up for the home check was very nice and assured me all would be fine. She told me it was ok that I didn't have a formal lease at my dog-friendly rental apt and if Kelly had any questions, she would call me or my on-site manager. She assured me that FFF was accommodating and would not expect me to drive all the way to Ramona to pick the dog up, but would likely arrange to meet 1/2 way. She said the home check went well and my home would be perfect for this little hospice rescue. Before I knew it, FFF posted on FB that I was the foster home and I would be picking her up on Saturday ... before even calling me to schedule the pick up. When I asked about meeting 1/2 way, I was told that information was incorrect and I would have to drive an hour out to Ramona to meet the dog. I thought, ok ... they saved the dog, the least I could do was drive out to pick her up. I was then officially invited via email to pick the dog up on Saturday. I said ok and I needed an address. She responded by saying to bring my ID and a copy of my lease. I reminded her that when I met with the lady for the home visit, I had already explained that I don't have an official lease with my apt management company as I signed my lease under the old management company, but it didn't matter because I have lived in my home for 4 years with no plans to move. Then, about 8:30pm on that Friday night, I received an email stating that they reviewed my application and denied approval since I don't have a lease!! THIS IS TOTALLY BACKWARDS!!! They already announced on FB that I was the foster family. As I write this review, my name is still listed as foster family on their FB account They never called my on-site manager to clarify the situation. They did not respond to my email when I wrote that it didn't make sense. I am not happy with this organization at all! They may have dog skills, but they have terrible people skills!!! They denied a foster dog to a person that has provided a loving, safe home to her spoiled dogs for 25 years. Their loss!! read more
