Unique and specialty donuts close to home!!! I have only been in a few times, but I have been pleasantly surprised each time. S'mores, key lime pie, and red velvet w/cream cheese frosting are the ones I have tried so far. The owner is friendly and extremely patient (it is so hard to decide). We have finally been blessed with a donut shop in the suburbs! Frosted Donuts is everything you could ever want in a donut shop. They have a massive variety with great options that are unique to the bakeries in the area. The owner is also super sweet and you can tell she is passionate about her venture. Mmm where do I begin, this place is awesome. Went in today for the first time and fell in love. My mother and I went in around 1030 and had a hot chocolate, coffee and split a very large fritter. Really disappointed in the donuts here. They look fantastic, but as we know looks can be deceiving. We ordered a peanut butter cup, a nutella, a strawberry shortcake, a red velvet, a chocolate old fashion and a chocolate long john. The pb was simply a raised donut with chocolate and peanut butter frosting and a half a pb cup in the middle. The nutella and str cheesecake had a dollop of filling resting in an indentation on a raised donut. The red velvet just an okay chocolate donut, the old fashion was good. Don't get me wrong the actual donut is okay, but just okay. I was expecting some glorious over the top type of fillings in the 'special' ones but not so. If you want a gourmet donut in the suburbs, don't look any further. The owner was super nice and welcoming, the service was friendly and fast, and the donuts were amazing. I had 6 gourmet donuts. The ones I tried: s'mores, snickers, strawberry jelly, and KitKat. All were awesome but I'm a sucker for anything s'mores so that was my favorite. The presentation of the donuts also just lifts the spirit so definitely a good place to bring treats for a party or work etc. You'll be the crowd favorite if you walk in with these, as I found out myself lol. Go earlier in the day, just like any good donut store they'll sell out and stop baking fresh ones an hour before closing or. I've been there around noon and 10am and both times the donuts were so soft and fresh. My favorite go-to place donuts from now on. It was my first time here, I stopped in due to seeing the good rating on yelp along with craving a donut. I walked inside and was instantly greeted with a smile. When i go to donut places I instantly need to order a Boston Creme my absolute favorite. I wanted another but wasn't sure so I got the grand tour of the donut selection. After fighting temptation to buy one of each I went for a blueberry glazed which is another one of my go to's. The bear claw had caught my attention due to it being dipped in chocolate to represent the claws. She had mentioned there was a cinnamon swirl filling inside and I knew I had to get that one too. When I got to my car I wanted to open up the bag and just destroy all 3 but I decided to wait until I got home. The Boston Creme was amazing, the Bavarian cream inside had so much flavor the chocolate was rich and bread was fluffy. Overall one of the best I've had. The bear claw was just as good with so many flavors popping out in one bite. The donuts were delicious but the customer service was wonderful too! I will be back when I'm in the area. read more
