Stripe-It-Up (SIU) was recently engaged in road resealing work by our HOA here at Kestrel Airpark…read morein Spring Branch. Before the resealing took place, the SIU crew somehow decided that it would be ok to sweep huge amounts (cubic yard or more) of the loose gravel/aggregate that was on the road onto my private property, completely burying/damaging large areas of grass in my front yard. I spoke with Neil H. who was quick to initially respond. He said all the right things. "We will make it right", etc. I was subsequently advised by Neil that they would clean it up, but, that they didn't leave the rock there originally. I didn't quite understand what that had to do with anything. They buried a large part of my yard in gravel without my permission or consent. Well, I returned from out of town to see the poor cleanup job, leaving large amount of aggregate for which the grass has to eventually grow through. What bothers me most is I have had zero contact from SIU regarding their alleged "cleanup" job. I thought they would ask me what I thought of it? Maybe get an l'm sorry, we did the best we could; Maybe get an offer to bring a little dirt to help with the damaged and struggling grass? Haven't heard a word. And, I've never been given an explanation on why they thought burying a private home owner's yard with buckets of road gravel is acceptable. Is this their SOP? Feels like doing the right thing is just talk and being responsible is a thing of the past. If I were you, I'd ask SIU about their SOPs for private property adjacent to their worksites and/or their crew retraining regarding this incident I'm still evaluating my options.
