What tipped me off that this was going to be a bad deal from the beginning is that the individual I talked to over the phone did not know what an AFCI was (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) as opposed to a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter). I contacted this business to inquire if they were certified electricians, and they confirmed that they were. I then asked if they were located in the City of Banning, and they replied that they were based in Moreno Valley. I scheduled an appointment, and they arrived to inspect the issue. They pressed the button on the GFCI outlet, which my tenants were unfamiliar with. They attempted to charge me $400 for this simple action. I found this amount to be outrageous and informed them that I would contest the charges if they proceeded. After negotiating, I was able to reduce the charge to $110, but even this amount seemed excessive. While I understand that they should charge for at least a service call, they insisted on a minimum of two hours of labor, which they had not disclosed upfront. Be cautious when dealing with this business. They claim to be certified electricians, but they are actually electrical contractors who hire certified electricians. This means you're not only paying for their arrangement services, but also for the electrician's time. Why not go directly to the electrician and eliminate the middleman? MGS's reply lacks transparency and does not provide a precise explanation. In response to their defense on this very review: Yes! I did say I'm OK with it and I paid $110 to them for pressing a button that literally took 10 minutes or less. But that is after I had to threaten to contest the charges of MGS wanting to charge $440 for 10 minutes of work. Ridiculous! I 100% wholeheartedly stick by this review! And again buyer beware!

Wood: when it came to his wood installation, however, he could not have messed it up more - I am still in the process of having a claim against him both in the California licensing board as well as with his bond/insurance company. The wood was completely improperly installed - the concrete floor wasn't properly ground down, there wasn't enough spacing left at the edges (next to the wall), and a calcium chloride test wasn't done. I didn't come to find all this out until far later, however, when my floors began to buckle and came up about 3 inches. I've now had to have all the wood torn out and thrown away (because it is expanded and useless), and had a proper install by a proper wood installer. To make matters worse, Scott was adamant that the problem wasn't caused by bad installation (he should know better when these things were clearly done wrong) - he insisted that the problem was, in fact, our usage of a steam mop which he saw at our house (which we used when we had our tile floors, but never on our wood floors). What's great is that every other wood installer told us that even if we used a steam mop every day, it would take months for this kind of buckling to happen, and that it wouldn't just happen in 6 months. If you need tile done, Scott can be trusted - but if you need wood installed, stay away!

Instead of answering those questions or clarifying the situation, the contractor (Todd) became hostile. Simply for asking questions about charges and incomplete work, he called me an "asshole" in writing. This was not during an argument or after refusing to pay -- it was in response to us trying to understand what we were being charged for. This level of verbal abuse toward a paying customer is completely unacceptable, especially from a licensed contractor. Professional companies explain their work and resolve concerns respectfully. Name-calling shows a serious lack of professionalism and accountability. If you choose this company, be aware that asking questions may be met with hostility instead of answers. I would strongly advise future customers to proceed with caution

We pulled them out and trashed all the flooring today..straight to the dump! To our surprise, they never even floated the floors. Nothing was ever prepped correctly and leveled correctly! I was taken BIG time, $4,000 for 350 sqft! It's a small job; but it's butchered! What a headache this has been on us and my pocket book. Wish I could be reimbursed 1/2 my money to fix this Jack job!!!
