I was happy to give my business to Allstate. In 2020 something drastically changed. Since September I have placed multiple calls to the Allstate in Danville and have never had one single call returned. I sold a house and needed to cancel the policy and never received a call back. Made several attempts and no response. I don't really understand why no one answers the telephone anymore. It's like they are closed and don't care about their customers. Needless to say the policy renewed automatically and I was charged for a policy for a home I no longer own. Not a great customer experience but I'm sure they do not care at all. I bought a new house in December and made several attempts to get a quote for a new policy and again no calls returned. I eventually spoke to someone named Breanne who told me someone would call me back to give me a quote. Again, no one ever called back. I completely understand the complications of running a business during the challenges of COVID-19, but what I cannot understand is how customer calls can go unacknowledged for months and absolutely no attention paid to customers trying to conduct business. Absolutely no customer service here. It is a mystery whether this office is even still in business. Absolutely deplorable customer experiences. Update 1/6/21 After writing this review, I heard from Bill White from Allstate in Danville. Bill offered a sincere apology for the service received and an explanation of some difficult times in delivering their regular exemplary service. After hearing from Bill, I am happy to change my review to 5 stars and remain a committed Allstate customer.

After additional emails, and then numerous phone calls, I received no information. I got my construction policy through my builder. In June, I was told it was too late to cancel my homeowners insurance (house was torn down) that a letter in writing was necessary. I referenced my April 2 email. I had also requested information on my auto policy as I am no longer commuting to work and thought that would have a positive impact on my premium. As of this writing, it has been almost 4 months and I've still have not received any communication. It is too easy to stay with the same company out of convenience. I've reached my limit. Last year I had four policies. Maybe hitting his pocketbook will have more of an impact. I am also reporting this to the the California insurance commission. DON'T USE BILL WHITE!!!!! Through the years, Dennis and his team have provided excellent service and advice so that we always have the best insurance premiums and coverage. We feel secure knowing that we're well taken care of by StateFarm insurance should a situation arise. I can recall 2 major occurrences where without StateFarm we would have had to pay $1000's of dollars out-of-pocket. The first one was my lost wedding ring, and we were just newlyweds at the time. StateFarm covered the loss immediately and I had a new ring within a week!! The 2nd incident was a passerby tripped in front of our home due to slippery algae. That person sued us for an exorbitant amount. We were told this was not the city or county's responsibility to pay for the claimant's medical expenses. Unbeknownst to us, it's the homeowner's problem, even though the sidewalk is maintained by the city. StateFarm / Dennis and his team took quick action. Handled all the legal aspects of the matter. It took about 8 months to resolve. But let me tell you, when we received the letter in the mail that the case was closed and the claimant had received the amount $$$ that was reasonably agreed upon, all was good. And we were relieved. Let's just say, at the time that happened, it could have wiped out our life savings. StateFarm handled the matter seamlessly. Thank you Dennis & Ester (assistant), and your team for everything!!
