I recently saw Sting in concert at the Moody Amphitheater in Waterloo Park, and I can honestly say…read moreit was one of the best live music experiences I've had in Austin. This venue is absolutely stunning. The combination of open green space, modern design, and downtown skyline views creates a unique atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive at the same time. It's the kind of place where you can spread out on the lawn or sit closer to the stage and still feel completely immersed in the show. The acoustics are incredible--clear, balanced, and powerful without being overwhelming. Every note and lyric came through perfectly, which made an already amazing performance even more memorable. I also love how seamlessly the amphitheater blends into Waterloo Park. It doesn't feel like a typical concert venue--it feels like a thoughtfully designed outdoor experience where music, nature, and the city all come together. Whether you're seeing a legendary artist like Sting or just catching a local show, I highly recommend attending a concert here. Moody Amphitheater is truly one of Austin's gems and a must-visit for music lovers.

There was a lot of spill over into the designated walking areas BECAUSE of how much it was over sold. I am sure they make plenty of money on the concessions they can afford to keep capacity to a comfortable amount. This was my first time at this venue. ZERO desire to go back. Oh and Yelp is asking for photos... I have no idea if it was Jack or the venue but no cameras phones allowed in the venue. We had to put them in bags and carry those stupid things all night. Imagine I wanted to use Tap To Pay??? So dumb!

He was so helpful, told me to speak with guest services for wheel chair escort and a change of seats to ADA seats. Ticket scanner took a few tries to scan my ticket. Took the elevator up to my floor. And walked a little bit to my section. 219. Once I found where it was, I back tracked to grabbed some food. Stopped at Trisha's Kitchen. Grabbed a Mac & cheese with brisket. Self checked out. Spotted a high top table nearby where I ate the Mac & cheese. Once I was done I cleaned up, used the restroom, which was very clean. Then went to my seat. Show started at 6pm. To be honest. I have heard of these bands, and I think I knew 1 song a little from each band. But they were not the band I came to see and hear. But music is music, sort of, and I respect the art and talent, even if it's not my genre. I couldn't even tell you what band played first second and third. But the bands that played, in whatever order were Hinder. Hoobastank, Seether, and Staind. I think I paid $80.00 to hear all 4 bands. And my seats were way up on the side of the stage. Extremely loud. Screeching noise. Like wow! I did see a lot of people wearing ear protection. I however, did not. But I will look into carrying them next time. Good to have them if you need them. Probably the first ever concert I needed ear protection. Lesson learned. General standing area in front of the stage was entertaining with body surfing, a little mosh area. It was fun. Even one of the singers got out in that stand up area and sang a whole song among the audience. I'm sure everyone there was filming it. Pretty surprising. Hard to tell if he had body guards around him or not. I'm sure he did. While they were entertaining. Again, not really my genre of music. But I did know a couple of songs. Show went on to about 11:30pm. Started at 6pm. It was a lot of loud entertainment. I didn't waste any time walking out the arena and to my parking garage. Got to my car, pulled out of the garage, thankfully I parked right next to the exit. No traffic getting out. I was out of that area quickly, and got home by midnight. Was a decent night.

It's really expensive to play at Treasure Island Bingo in Austin. I was in town visiting and…read morefigured that I 'd give this bingo hall a try but I should've kept my money and went back to capitol bingo instead. When I first got to Treasure island they asked me for my first & last name then proceeded to type in the computer system which I didn't understand what was going so I once again told them that I've never played there before hence all the questions that I was asking. They also asked for my date of birth, I guess they were creating a profile for me. They didn't clearly explain the games so I didn't know which games were being sold or played at the same time. They didn't explain that some games were double action and others were not. The pull tabs are very random as well, meaning that when I first got there they told me they were only playing and selling 3 pull tab games which I figured would be great but instead they started selling additional pull tabs (none of which were "all play" so you've basically been just wasting money, hoping that you get one of the horses). The parking was nice but this bingo hall is not smoke-free. I've played Bingo in several other states and in my opinion this Treasure Island Bingo Austin location charges too much to play for what you get in return. When you add the $25 machine cost with adding early birds and pull tabs for both sessions you'll be spending $400 in no time which definitely isn't worth it. They also allow the workers to play bingo while they're working which I've never seen happen at any bingo place I've played at. Overall a very weird bingo experience, I don't plan on returning back. The caller does call the numbers at a good speed.

I'm not a huge gambler. I don't like it much at all. Like Beyonce said "I work too hard for my…read moremoney to give it away". But my mom wanted me to go with her. Bingo has always been one of her favorite things on the planet, and recently, this seems to be her favorite place to go. So I agreed to tag along. It was really cozy and I liked that! When we walked in the boy spinning a prize wheel knew my mom's name. I thought that meant she has a gambling problem but turns out it's that way with a lot of the customers here. The people working here learn their regulars. I was impressed. The employees are also very friendly. There is smoking and non-smoking. Thankfully, we sat in non-smoking since we had my nephew with us. Not sure of the age limit but kids are allowed. They do have to play if attending. The did have a kitchen but it has been closed since COVID. So you're able to bring your own food and drinks...INCLUDING ALCOHOL! I didn't though because I didn't know until I got there and saw people cracking open cold ones. We stayed for both sessions which is about 3 hours total. I didn't win anything. I've never been lucky which is part of the reasons gambling and bingo in particular never appealed to me. But this was a bit different. Apparently, you can play computers. With those you really can't miss anything...you don't even really have to pay attention! That was pretty cool because I could be on Twitter getting caught up on the latest Omarion/Mario Verzuz drama while not worrying about sleeping my bingo. Really, I didn't have to worry about it because (as usual) I never came close. But you know what...I'LL BE BACK! It seemed different here then other bingo halls I've been in before. I don't know what it was. Just more relaxed and friendly here. Not that I have much to compare it to. But if you want a comfy place to pass some time around friendly people why not? Plus, my mom went the very next day and won so :/
