This is from my wife: Rebekah is a wonderful woman to work with. Her Rolfing skills are fantastic and she's very strong. I've felt wonderful and taller after every session I've had with her even when I've had a headache. I've gone in with a headache and left with less or no pain which for me is a triumph. Since I have gut issues, I've gone to her bloated and left without any distention of my abdomen or bloating sensation. Separate from her Rolfing skills, she's just a nice person and calm. Rolfing with David and Rebekah Frome. When I was 22 years old, upon hire at a local company, I was examined by the company doctor, who was an osteopath. After my examination he said that I had the spine of a man in his late forties. My spine was indeed curved, my shoulders were a definitely hunched and my neck and head pushed forward. Subsequently throughout the years, consciously straightening my posture helped ... sort of ... as long as I kept a constant vigilance and applied effort in standing straight. But that was not sustainable. Exercise strengthened me but did not change my posture. I went through the series with David Frome in 2000. By session three I could feel my shoulders move back and my chest open. When I say that I mean that my shoulders laid further back, they had a new resting place, one that did not require effort to keep them there. My hips were more in alignment and the accentuated lower curve in my spine lessened and became more normal - all without applying muscle effort on my part to be that way. I was relaxed and straighter... In 2011 I returned and had a Rolfing series with Rebekah Frome. My posture further improved. Like David, Rebekah was looking at the entirety of me, from my feet to my head, orchestrating treatment, adjusting the fascia, doing the process to shift my body back to center. At the end of each session walking out my energy was very high. Some alignments I notice, some of the subtle ones she made, I do not personally visually see, but a year later I am aware that I am more comfortable sitting and walking in my body. During sessions, both David and Rebekah 'tuned into me' with a skilled and caring eye. Working on me, having me stand up and checking me, and having me lie or lay down for more work over and over again. It occurs to me that we live in our bodies and they structurally distort as we go through life. In some (or large) part we derive our sense of self through our bodies. That is a big part of who we think we are. Through aligning the body through Rolfing, my energy increased and I'm standing straighter and feel more at home in my body. David Frome has been my acupuncturist of choice for over three years, as he's been helping me manage a herniated disc in my lumbar spine. When I met David, I had been flat on my back and in terrible pain with my disc problem. I literally crawled out of bed to go anywhere, and the pain was crushing. I had tried different practitioners of different modalities without any lasting relief. It was through the recommendation of a trusted friend that I learned of David's practice. David's was the correct diagnosis and his treatment produced immediately noticeable results. I credit David's work with getting me, literally, up on my feet. And, due to the severity of my condition, it took a while for my life to return to normal. Throughout this process, though, David continued to adapt and intensify his treatment to access the deepest core of my disc issue. David and Rebekah are the best! For the longest time, I've had persistent tension everywhere in my body, around the spine, the back, stomach, neck and eyes. This was affecting all aspects of my life: digestion, eye tension, and energy levels. Massage, chiropractic and the usual PTs were only able to address the very superfical aspects of that; i often felt that they were not getting the most inner layers of my tension that was locking everything in place. Acupuncture treatment with David, and rolfing with Rebekah have been a great combintation for addressing these issues. David has deep curiosity and dedication to get to the real root of the problem, which is demonstrated with his extensive palpation and careful examination. David's ability to read the body and pinpoint the problems with specific energy channels is extraordinary, and draws from his deep understanding of the body from his long experience as a rolfer and PT (He only does acupuncture now though). I was extremely amazed and totally hooked the first time i went: the points he needled were nowhere near the location of discomfort, but soon i felt the energy coursing through those areas! That convinced me that David was really treating the issue at a much more deeper level than the symptoms themselves. Rolfing with Rebekah is great because she is very supportive, positive and knowledgeable of the body. She listens most carefully to you symptoms, and has a keen eye and the skill to adjust for structure alignment. Also, very important, Frome PT operates under a PT license, which means insurance likely will reimburse! This makes a huge difference for me! i believe that bodily issues often can have a structural component, for example, tension around the spine causing digestions issues. For those, rolfing would an important aspect of healing. Craniosacral therapy also is great (Steve Kravitz, is a wonderful one, btw). Acupuncture, by addressing the energy channels can address all issues, but works on the more subtle energy levels, which is often speeded along by the loosening up of the muscles through other bodywork (such as rolfing). Just my two cents for anyone looking for a good therapist. This is my first review, and took a long time to write, but i truly felt compelled to write a review for my wonderful therapists. Wow ! What can I say David and Rebekah are terrific! I originally came to see David for acupuncture because I had some questionable biopsy results. Because these issues can be hormone related I was advised to take hormone supplements. I had heard that acupuncture can balance your hormones so I contacted David after being referred by my osteopath. The bottom line is that after being retested my hormones were in balance---just from the acupuncture and with no supplements. I continued to see David because I felt greatly increased vitality from the treatments. I also have scoliosis and have had chronic pain from this for over 40 years. David worked with me to reduce my pain symptoms. I started to work with Rebekah for Rolfing in conjunction with my sessions with David and it is hard for me to even say this but my pain is diminished by about 80%. I still have to be careful to not do things to exacerbate it but most of the time I am almost pain free. Sometimes I will have relapses but they are able to get me back in good shape This is not a quick fix but a gradual realignment of your psychic and physical energies. I also suffered from headaches and took advil several times a week. Now I get the headaches only on occasion. In the past month or two I have only had to take advil once. Probably the greatest benefit is that being free of so many of my pain symptoms and energy blockages I have so much more vitality and energy to move forward in my life. On an emotional basis David and Rebekah have supported me tremendously by helping me to move through the blockages that have kept me stuck in my "stuff".
