It's no frills, not overly crowded, and not cutesy (the Hale Plantation market is crowded cutesy and has way more non agricultural stuff). Opens at 8:30, and it is mostly winding down by 11ish. Regulars here are at Dolce Vita bakery with a bunch of baked goods with real fruit or chocolate in them, grower John with low priced live plants (vegetable sets and some Florida specific fruit plants like passion flower and dragon fruit cactus) and seasonal greens and roots, Flour Pot bakery with several fancy breads, turmeric vendor, honey vendor, and several small growers / farmers selling seasonal produce. You can sometimes get local meats and just about always get yard eggs. This past year, there has been a couple selling native plants for landscaping. Restrooms are available and are bare bones and clean enough. They have some garden cart wagons that you can use for towing small children around or like a shopping cart for carrying plants. There are no crafts or whatever flea market type stuff here. It is pretty much all agricultural. It is next to the firestation and fire truck depot, so if you have kids you can look at the fire trucks with them.

I love walking around, checking out the booths, and finding new local treasures. One of my absolute musts now is a matcha drink from Honey Nitro + Cold Brew. I had never tried matcha before, but a friend recommended their version with vanilla or lavender, and oh my gosh, it was creamy, smooth, and totally addictive. I seriously didn't know I could love matcha this much! Pappa Thai's summer rolls are another go-to. They're fresh, flavorful, and honestly hit the spot every single time. Light but filling and perfect for walking around with. And I can't forget Proud Pickles, they're such a fun little stand, and I'm absolutely obsessed with their items. Sweet, tangy, spicy, you name it, they've got it. I'm giving 4 stars only because I wish there were a few more vendors but I understand Gainesville is a small town. But honestly, it's still such a lovely experience and totally worth checking out if you're in the area.

It's a great way to spend your Saturday morning and pick up unique items to eat, cook, enjoy and take home. We picked up some fresh, living, green wheatgrass to take home for only $2 per unit and it's hard to find in Jax. Located in the quaint "downtown" of Haile Plantation with plenty of street parking for visitors, they have signs to get you there. It closes at 12pm so make sure you try to come as early as possible because the early bird gets the worm. They are open 8:30am to 12pm every Saturday. Some of the highlights for me: Visiting The Tempeh Shop's booth since I have a freezer full of this stuff. They offer samples of their Ready Tempeh [prepared tempeh] and the guy working the booth gave me good advice on how to prepare it at home. It's suppose to be really good for you as it is a fermented soybean product locally made and distributed. The variety of certified organic produce available at this market is a dream for those looking for local organic veggies and fruit that aren't tainted with pesticides and other poisons. The presentation is beautiful, but you will need to get there early because they do run out of the more popular produce in season. I missed out on the organic beets. Bummer. Here are some of the vendors available here: Strega Nona's Oven Wood Fired Pizzas, Price Creek Farm, The Tempeh Shop, Rosie's Organic Farm, Fehrenbacher's Artisan Sausages, Possum Hollow Farm, Archer Market Garden, & The Green Mango...just to name a few. Check 'em out.

It's ok I'll be back and will update my review with my thoughts but for now I'll focus on "The Green Spot" which was open and one of the vendors I really wanted to check out (we love plants)! We met Jen the owner who was very sweet, friendly and welcoming. She let us try the daily lemonade flavors which were all quite unique, we all got our lemonades and omg I'm in love with the guava/lemonade topped with blueberries, rosemary and a pasta straw! It was super refreshing! We just moved to the area & it was great learning about the history of the shop and other surrounding facts. We bought some herbs and we'll be back to get plants once I've got time to tend to them as moves can be very hectic and I'm still getting settled. I'm bringing all our plant loving friends to this cute lil shop with a cool vibe that very much reminded me of Key West. Try their lemonades! Jen, Thank you for a welcoming experience it was lovely to meet you :)

Our first time visiting this Saturday Morning Market in Downtown Ocala and what a great experience…read moreit was, some of that I attribute to the mild temperatures here in late September and much more than that is it's a very well organized event with some spectacular vendors. Although the pavilion is dedicated to a number of farm to table vendors there's so much more surrounding it - it's also equally amazing how much free parking there is in very close proximity to the market so although I recommend wearing comfortable shoes you won't be setting any step records if you track those things. I specifically came here to see if I could fine some fresh vine ripened homegrown tomatoes, a few vendors had the most beautiful juicy tomatoes from Tennessee and after slicing a few I knew I scored big and being they were very reasonably priced I loaded up which means most of my meals in the next few days will include chilled sliced tomatoes which I'm fine with. We also found some beautiful jalapeño peppers and delicious cucumbers if I lived local this is where I'd buy all my vegetables. We were here about an hour just checking things out but long enough to grab a large freshly squeezed lemonade which was outstanding, not cheap but delicious and refreshing . This place really exceeded my expectation and one that I plan to return to when in the area...
