The buffalo shrimp were the best shrimp I have ever tasted, I have never eaten a softer more tasty shrimp. The fried green tomatoes also rocked. The star of the show were the crab legs AMAZING! Also tried crab cakes which were fresh only down side some shell in it and the fries were good. Pricing is on the expensive side so keep that in mind when ordering. Overall great seafood spot, so impressed.

We stopped here for lunch between visiting the Currituck Lighthouse and Whalehead Club and our late-afternoon wild horse tour. The restaurant is tucked into the corner of a strip-mall-type complex and was a little difficult to find, but we were sure glad we did. The lunch special was a fried flounder basket with wonderfully seasoned, crispy French fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. It's a walk-up-and-order, seat-yourself kind of place. It appeared that the same person taking orders was also cooking and bringing the food to the tables. We ate outside on a very small deck overlooking a tiny bridge and waterway. The setting is simple, but the fresh, well-cooked food was definitely the highlight. This little hidden gem was well worth finding!

This place is such a good find in OBX for so many reasons! The most important reason: the food is…read moregreat. We ordered the fried green tomato special of the day, which came with burrata and salad. It was incredible. My partner ordered the catch of the day, which was blackened swordfish with risotto. He loved it! I ordered the mahi mahi BLT. They were extremely generous with their portion size for the fish, bacon, and especially the fries. The ambiance is very nice! Inside had plenty of space for folks to be seated without being crowded, but it was never too loud. They have bar seating, tables, and outdoor dining. The art is locally sourced. I signed up for their waitlist to get a reservation, and it worked! I was able to snag one. Thankfully I did, since they were busy and had a wait for over an hour for walk ins. Highly recommend planning ahead! If you end up waiting, they have several places for you to wait including outside in the shade with some games and seating area.

The parking lot was packed, and we were told the wait would be 30-45 minutes ... but we were seated in less than 10 minutes! The restaurant is beautiful and classy, and the menu had so many things that sounded phenomenal. Prices were a little higher than we wanted to spend that evening, so we opted for sandwiches. A cheeseburger for my husband and a chicken sandwich for me. His came with fries, while I chose the rice and beans. Our food took at least 30 minutes, and we were told the kitchen was having trouble keeping up. The presentation wasn't particularly photo-worthy, but those rice and beans were off the charts! I could eat them every day. They had such a unique flavor. I couldn't quite figure out what was in them, but I suspect there may have been a hint of nutmeg. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive until we were nearly finished. It did take quite a while to get our check and payment processed. I'd definitely return. There were so many appetizers, drinks, and desserts I wanted to try. Next time, I'd be prepared to spend a little more!
