Have been seeing Dr Frischer-Ryan for over 6 years now and she, as well as the nurses and staff, have always been very helpful, supportive and caring. Dr. Ryan has also presented the best kindness, care, professionalism and knowledge that is expected in a doctor. She actually takes time to talk with you and find out what's going on with you. It's a discussion about treatment and not an immediate pill pushing doctor, which I'm grateful for. My previous doctor didn't tell me of an existing tumor on my kidney from 13 years ago. I changed doctors and she encouraged me to get tests done and we found the tumor. Surgery done, and I'm healing. She's through and caring and I can't say enough about her tenacity about caring for her patients. read more

The old lady Norma is rude! For no reason either, just some miserable old lady. I was discharged from the hospital after my surgery and they made an appointment with me to which I needed to cancel because I needed more time to recover. I called at 730AM and asked to reschedule and Norma's response was "well I'm not helping you because they're closed". So unprofessional and now I have to follow up with well when do they open? All she had to say was sorry mam, they don't open until 745, you can try then. I told her she was rude and we kept going at it. She kept saying she was going to hang up blah blah but she didn't cause people like her want confrontation because they hate their boring life. Anyway, I can't believe they got this ghetto pendeja. My entire family and all my adult grown children. I've never had any issues w/ the office staff. They have been patient and have always gotten back to us whenever I had to leave a phone message.! Angie is by far the least empathetic employee I have come across in this practice. While Dr.Sim and Dr.Frischer have been awesome doctors, my complaints are toward his staff. While speaking to me just now she completely disregarded my complaint. My 84 year old dad knows nothing about medical codes, billing and diagnosis. It's unbelievable how she excepted him to know all of this for a follow up referral to see an orthopedic specialist. Luckily, I do understand the medical lingo and I had the unfortunate pleasure of speaking to Angie . I expect their director of operations to contact [me]regarding this long, dehumanizing process with such careless employees. Or I can just escalate this issue. By the way when asking for an employees name the answer received was such "Oh it's still Angie" . I have been calling this number since 10am 16x. I have Covid and the number doesn't work. It either says if you know your parties extention and that's it no other options. Then at 330p it actually switches over to the emergency number. So they are not turning their system on purpose. This is not the first time this has happened. read more

I just called to scheduled same day appointment. Asked to see Dr Sim, was told he was out on vacation. So I asked to see anyone else that's available. Told her that I may have a bladder/kidney infection and not trying to end up in the emergency room. The person answering the phone then said that I could be seen by another provider, but that I would have to stay with them. Doesn't make sense, we all have unplanned illnesses and if my provider is out of the office, they should be able to accommodate this one time visit with a different provider that's is in the same office. Have never heard of this office policy from any other medical provider. Time to start looking for a new provider if this is the way this office handles patient care. read more

I have been coming to Dr Frischer for a couple years now and he is simply wonderful. Don't get me wrong, the wait times can be pretty awful if you walk in but when Dr Frischer comes in to see you, all your woes go away. I know it is normal for MDs now to walk in and out of the visit fairly quick. Dr Frischer is not an exception, but the time he spends with you definitely makes me feel like he is truly listening and addressing all my concerns during the visit. When he comes in to assess you, he gives you the upmost attention as if he didn't have another 30 more patients in the waiting lobby outside. He is a wonderful doctor and I am glad to have him watch over my care. He really cares about his patients. His office was recently renovated with the new arrival of his daughter joining the practice. Hopefully this decreases his patient visit load a bit so he gets a breather. I would highly recommend Dr Frischer to anyone I know. read more

Arrived at 2:55, my appointment was at 3:20. I completed the new patient paperwork in advance and they processed it in the system fairly quickly. I thought I was going in for a physical, but was told they only do general visits for first time patients. I was called in to take my vitals at 3:07 which took a few minutes. The doctor William Sim came in at 3:25pm. He was very pleasant and asked all the necessary routine questions for first time patients. The visit took about 10 minutes. He did not seem rushed and discussed my concerns seriously. The only negative, they forgot to give me back my ID and Insurance card. I did not notice until I got to the lab across the street. They did call me as I was on my way back, but definitely could have been avoided. read more

I was referred by someone at church, and I am glad to have Dr. Laura Fischer Ryan as my new doctor. She listens and respects your opinion/decision on a subject. I highly recommend her not only for excellent customer service, but her professional medical knowledge is commendable. Overall, i am happy. I give it 4 stars because I feel that they should have better phone hours of operation for their staff. I totally agree with other people in making appointments at this office. You will usually get the phone exchange service when you are not within their hours of operation. I am not sure if it's because of covid coz covid has made a lot of changes in people's work schedules/business schedules, but i hope it goes back to normal having more staff to answer phones. read more

If you want to be in and out of the doctor's office, then look no further this place is for you. Dr. Sim holds the 10-15 minute office visit time as his gold standard. Unfortunately, it can be a pain to make an appointment over the phone. You will sit in the lobby waiting for awhile and then again wait in the room just long enough to forget to ask your questions when Dr. Sim does finally grace you with his rushed presence. My father in law is a patient at this office, he's 77, and I've been refraining myself for a while on writing this review because in Healthcare, I do believe that people have bad days, but this isn't it. My father in law came a while back because he was getting a check up or something done at this office. Each time he's come, he's been met with such difficulty. One staff in particular, whose name is Angie, would make the experience worse, especially when offices calling over the phone to inquire about his information she would come off very rude and condescending, keep in mind, my father in law doesn't speak English well, so it was double the trouble. This is his primary physician and he should never experience these type of issues. The doctor has referred my father in law to get certain outpatient services, such as, X-rays, and imaging, and in those instances, when those facilities call in to get information on his referral, they are met with difficulty from the same person, Angie, It makes me upset that this woman is not concerned about my father in laws needs and appears to be bi-polar and knows who to act that way with. I don't feel comfortable ever bringing or referring any of my family to this place ever again. We will be going to change his doctor, as well as, inform our other family members and friends to not come to this office anymore and we will post on our Facebook page as well. We will also escalate the issue further because I would hate to know how many other people have to deal with this woman. read more

Dr. Sims is a great doctor. He listens and is always very thorough with his questions and exam.

Dr. Frischer has been my parent's doctor for about 20 years now, and mine for about 5. He always takes the time to listen to you and fully answers all the questions you may have even if they're not relating to the reason you're in for a Dr's visit. He will also see you for more than one condition and prescribe you for more than one condition in one visit. (i.e. if you have a cold, but also have a rash not relating to a cold). I have also been told that he works with you in minimizing costs if you do not have medical insurance. He has also relocated back to Downey Medical, no longer Pico Rivera. read more

ZERO stars if possible! I cannot get ahold of someone at the office for just an APPOINTMENT...my first appointment. Can you imagine if I had something urgent? Thus far, I've called 4 times, spread out over the course of 1.5 weeks and left 3 messages. First time, I called after hours (4:00PM on a Friday) and the person who answered was grumpy and told me to call back during normal hours. I apologized as it was my first time and didn't know. I called back on a Monday, Tuesday, and a Thursday the calls always went to voicemail. I left a voicemail each time but NONE have been answered. What a ridiculous and CRAPPY office. I'll be switching doctors. There's no point in seeing a doctor, even if they are good, if you can't even get ahold of them. Doctor's offices can really make or break their business. Dr. Ryan, if you see this review, do yourself a favor and FIRE/replace your entire office staff. read more

The FMG staff is, for the most part, welcoming and very kind. Sometimes there might be a receptionist that isn't as well-suited for customer service then the others, but I've never had a "rude" experience. They are fast-paced and run as efficiently as possible to get patients in and out. Most of the time when my appointment is at a specific hour, I will be called in on schedule. Only when I have been sick and had to walk-in, have I had to wait for at least an hour. However, if you can call them beforehand and give them a heads up that you're coming, they will try as much as possible to set an appointment time for that day or the next. My primary care doctor is Dr. Frischer and I couldn't ask for a better one. He is very knowledgeable and he contributes to the local paper's medical section (which is how I found him in the first place). If you're empirically-based like me, then you will like him. He's not into the mumbo-jumbo unless it has some hard evidence to support it. He is definitely for lists and writing down symptoms. But what doctor isn't? The more you can tell him, the better he will be at helping you. read more

Every time I try to call to make an apt I get the answering service even if it's not closing time and they close for a loooonnngggg lunch I tried calling today @ noon and was told they take lunch from 1230-2 even though I called before 1230 no answer...called again @ 350 and they still aren't answering even though they are supposed to close at 4. I was referred here by my coworkers. The place was easy to find and there was tons of parking. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The whole process was very fast which is great. Nurse Reginia checked me in took my vitals, weight and height and put me in a room to wait for the doctor. Dr. Sim is fantastic! He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. I've tried calling this place a few times once in the morning and they were open, once around 12 or so and the answering service said the yes be back at 2pm (which means they take 2 hour lunchs) and another at 425pm. The answering service said they close at 425pm everyday? Another time I called I was on hold for 15 minutes and hung up because I was at work.
