Glad for LivingSocial because otherwise this place is a waste of time. There's 3 different pricings: $20 for 4 attractions $40 for unlimited $50 VIP which is unlimited attractions with preferred line systems in placce. 10 attractions in total. The first place we went in was the 3d movie and not only was it incredibly lame and some of the worst 3d I have seen but during the movie we also got the computer power error (picture has since been removed by yelp because it ''didn't pertain to the business". WTF?!). Being the first screening of the night that is just bad planning. Lines for everything was understandably long and most of the attractions were simply people jumping out at you. I actually laughed more by other people's reactions than anything else. The unlimited pass isn't worth getting as they open 7-11pm with each attraction taking at least 30mins so you can't make it to all 10 even if you are here for the entire duration. The highlight it's probably the random staff members dressed up walking through the park. I could imagine it being a lot more fun if you came with a huge group of friends after hitting up a local bar... or three. read more

Scream Park October 28, 2017 Got a groupon for this very cool and entertaining adventure. This park was on the ground of the popular pumpkin patch off garden highway. It was made up of 2 main parts: the haunted hay ride and the walk through corn maze. There was food and sodas for purchase and also a mini attraction of a coffin that locks you inside. This coffin bounces side to side, up and down. All while you are inside, locked. Don't worry, there is a camera inside, showing everyone outside, on live video, what your doing inside the coffin. Perhaps scared or screaming... A DJ played Halloween music that you could hear while standing in line to everything. There are bathrooms at this location but they are port a potties and have the wash stations that you pump water with your feet. No spoilers but the haunted hay ride wasn't very scary- it was very entertaining though! However, I was spooked and caught off guard by a few zombies that attacked the wagon. The stories were interesting and the crew was very talented at scaring some of the others in our wagon. The walk through corn maze was fun! It's not a real maze in the sense that you could get lost because there is an actor telling you where to walk or calling you forward but it is disorienting and spooky! My advice if you go with a group and don't want the attention on you: don't be the one with the flashlight! There are really good actors/zombies/scary people, here popping out of the maze in hopes to scare you. LOL I have to admit, I was startled twice. Lots of fun. Not overly impressed so far for $20 a person. Thankfully, I got free tickets through work, however the staff is ridiculously rude. When we first entered, having never been here before, my husband asked if he gave them our tickets. The guy who looked as if he were in high school kinda laughed and scoffed. "No." And then when they went to check my purse, they were all "Can you open it?" In some condescending tone. All I said was "it's already open". It clearly wasn't zipped up. Mazes were fun, but definitely overpriced at $20 each, as they limit you to 4 mazes by punching your tickets. We were there for about an hour and left. The lights off maze was the best. Probably wouldn't return unless I got the free tickets again. Just too overpriced and service is not that great. read more

We went in a group of 6 and had a ton of fun. We got the groupon deal which totally made it worth it. The makeup and costumes were outstanding, and the actors were really into it and a lot of fun. The main reason I knocked stars was because of the lines/crowd control. I read their FAQ on their website, which I believe states you can get through everything in an hour or two. This is not true. We got there at 8:30, stood in line and didn't get into the actual park until 9:15. Then every attraction was at least a 20 min wait. By the time the park closed at 11:00 - we had done Jatinga, Doll Factory, Cannibal Cabin, Red, Scream Max Theater, and Distorted Maze. There was still another 3 to do (Carnage House, Buried Alive, Black Out). My opinion - they need to stay open until midnight on weekends, and they need more ticket takers to get you into the park. Of the attractions we did see - Doll Factory had the best production - it was awesome. Jatinga had some good scares too. Red was disappointing, mainly because the strobe lights and smoke machine were so intense you literally could not see anything - we actually got lost, twice. Long story short, if you can get a deal, like we did with groupon, its totally worth it. We had a blast! But be sure to get there early to see it all! :) read more

You know, I see all these negative reviews and it is really disappointing... I've been there a lot this year and can tell you firsthand that these reviews are NOT are true representation of the times that people have had at Fright Planet this year. It seems like most people that write a review had a bad experience in regards to something relatively petty and end up saying that everything sucked. And the people that had a good time (which seems to be a majority of the people) don't feel motivated to write a review because everything met their expectations. If everyone truly had a 1-star experience, than the park would've been open for a week before people stopped coming. Trust me, people have a GREAT time there. Not everyone, but most people seem to have fun and get a good kick out of getting scared. I know I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the haunts. Particularly "Silence" where the clowns can grab you and pull you in different directions, but you have to wear a tracking device (which is really just a glow stick), if you want to go full-interaction. If you don't want them to grab you, don't take a glow stick. Blackout and Asylum are other favorites. read more

What a huge disappointment. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Maybe 1 star for their super convincing website? Paid 40 dollars for the VIP pass. Walked in there and the place is just completely dead for a Saturday night. That should have been our first clue. Walked into the Haunted Hayride and went to the front of line (VIP), the people who were waiting already had been in line for 2hours. We only had to wait about 20mins. It's basically just a tractor ride in a pitch black Corn Maze. It didn't seem like they had enough actors. We probably seen a total of four out there. So everyone on the ride was pretty upset. The Corn Maze itself was slightly better than the Hayride. But once again it's pitch black. They ask you to not use your phone flashes. But when it's time to enter Haunted rooms throughout the Maze you can't even see the props, or actors, or anything. Because it's pitch black. It was a complete waste of 40 dollars. First off, would not scare anybody unless you are between 4-8 years old, they have the organizational capability of a meth addict, waaaaaaay over priced even through bought through amazon local "deal", the "movie ride" was sooooo stupid I cant find the words to explain, and the cast preformed as if they were not getting paid, because in fact they were not. Let me start by the fact that is it supposed to start at 7-10 and we were in line at 7:19 and the gates didn't open til 8ish. Then if you're a smoker. Don't even bother. There are no designated smoking area and you are treated like garbage. Which I'm sorry please state that in the ticket info or information in general. If you don't like smokers here's your place. Biggest thing, most important the haunted houses are not even scary. Not even a little bit. Not even scary for a 5 y/o. If I had paid $40 for these tickets I would be livid. This is the most disorganized, bad attempt at a haunted attraction. First, it's unclear how to enter the parking lot which is extremely frustrating in and of itself. Second, the entire experience is open from 7:00pm - 10:00pm, an hour and a half of which you spend navigating through barely moving lines that lead to more lines. You can't tell where any line leads or where you are supposed to go. Once in the park you can't even choose which of the attractions to go into. You just funnel into a random line. The actors aren't scary, they are annoying at best. This genuinely feels like it was put together in a few days and is here to collect money. Get a pizza, rent Halloween and eat candy at home. read more

First off it was so dark and foggy everywhere you couldn't see any of the 3 actors each house had, let alone how anything looked. Secondly their idea of a scare is just banging on a wall. What a waste of money! $50 a person (VIP) and there was nothing! The "haunted houses" were about the size of a living room and contained almost no props and no actors. We're talking pool noodles and fishing line as props. This is worse than the free neighborhood haunted house. Total disappointment! Waste of time. If this attraction was free it wouldn't be worth the gas money to get there if you lived across the street! I have wasted my money on some pretty stupid stuff in my life but this takes the cake! Not good for anyone of any age. I can't believe I wasted money on this. Total buyers remorse. I will be shaking my head at myself about the waste of time and money for many halloweens to come. The Map on their website lead to the front of Cal Expo, Fright Planet is not at that gate so my friends and i had to go on a a bit of a walk Some of the actors were not the most helpful, my friends and i are geting into line for "Diner" and one of the actors starts yelling at us to get in line. We start trying to figure out where the line starts and ends but its too unorganized to really figure out where it starts. We walked away and watched other people get confused too. Majority of the actors were great and stayed in character the entire time and seem to do great when it comes to improvising, my friends and i like to mess with the actors. We dont annoy them but sometimes we'll stare at them or yell/say/do random things to see how they react The attractions were about the same as callson manor, the pitch black maze was the best in my opinion. Jatinga was pretty good too. they might be my favorite becuase they seem to last the longest.the attractions only seem to last 6-12 minutes, i might be way off though. the entertainment did not seem very well organized. The dancer/host was trying to lead everyone in a few dances, thing was that he didnt really know the dances and just stood around until there was a part of the song that he knew. last thing is that the layout of the entire place is pretty confuzing, my friends and i were looking for where one of the attractions was, it lead us to what looked like the back of the building where nothing was. but apparantly thats where the attraction started. the start of the attractions where in random places and ended in places not as random the food was ridiculously expensive read more

It's a little late in the game since tomorrow is the last day for the season, but this years fright planet was seriously underwhelming.... It's our 3 year in a row going, and we always enjoy it, but this year was lacking.... Some of our favorite attractions (always the same theme but different each year) were missing this year. Seemed like more/better food options, but the haunted mazes themselves were very lackluster, and to be honest pretty boring. Even Eve, who is scared extremely easily, was not at all impressed this year. Pretty disappointing, I hope they see all these 1 star reviews and step it up next year. Super glad we got the Groupon, if I had paid full price to go to a half ass haunted theme park like this was this year I would be hella pissed off. We had sooo much fun!!! Can I just say "thank you" to all of the actors? Seriously, they were awesome, and they were what made the experience memorable. Their makeup and costumes were impeccable and they all played their roles well-never breaking charachter and totally believable. The venue was centrally located and easy to find. Thankfully parking was *FREE* and they had lots of fun things to do: yummy food, a monster mash/dance party (fun for kids), four really good haunted houses, a buried alive simulator, and a photo booth (trust me; you must try it, lol). You can buy your tickets online or at the gate (price is the same either way). We were there for just over an hour (they close at 10:30) and that was enough time, but we went late on a Sunday when there weren't as many people. Lastly, I had emailed them on their Facebook page to ask a couple of questions and they were very informative and got back to me promptly which was very much appreciated. Honestly, I just wasted 40 dollars. There were certain moments that were startling but overall it was entirely underwhelming. I think the only reason I'm giving this two stars and not one is because I feel bad for how awful this place was. The scariest haunt with the most actors was not very scary (not even to my easily frightened girlfriend) and the most actors you would find in each haunt was a maximum of 6 (generously). I really wanted this one to be good but of all of the haunted houses in the greater Sacramento area that I've been to (all but slip knot), I would have to rank this one lowest. They could have done so much better. ---to add some constructive criticism for anybody in charge of this event.. More actors and more jump scares. Definitely not worth paying the regular price. Luckily my boyfriend scored 2 free admission tickets from his work, so we only had to pay $10 each for unlimited passes. After about 20 minutes of walking around the park, we realized that the lines were so ridiculously long and not worth waiting in line for 40 minutes for each lame attraction, we decided just to go get the VIP tickets for another $10 each. So we went back to the ticket counter, and told the lady up front that we wanted VIP tickets and she confirmed that it was an additional $10 for each person, she ended up only charging $10 for both of us, all in all we ended up paying about $15 per person, with a value of $50 per person. I think the 10 attractions were worth $15 per person but no way in hell would I have spent $50 per person for the attractions. The attractions were okay, although it does take A LOT to actually scare me, I did jump a couple times. The thing that annoyed my boyfriend the most was that when going through the attractions the actors kept asking "WHY ARE YOU HERE?", I just ignored them but he tried to answer the questions the best way he could haha. The 3D movie was extremely boring, and we ended up sitting by some really annoying and loud group, but they did keep me awake throughout the whole 15 minute movie. the actors in the attractions were okay, a lot of high school kids with bloody makeup, there were a few creepy actors but that was about it, nothing special or scary. In the end, I would say do not pay the $40-$50 per person for this park. It is not worth it. The lines are long and all of the attractions are all the same concept just different themes. But If you have the ability to pay around $10-$15 per person then its worth it for an enjoyable time. read more

We went here for a friends Birthday. We had a group of 9. The lines were a little to long for my liking. And when we got to the front our group was split up every time because of it's size. The houses were far from scary and for the long line you moved through them in a matter of minutes. The one fun part of the evening was a Michael Jackson zombie pulled the willing parts of group onto stage to have fun in part of entertainment. We all we lucky enough to get a Groupon deal or I would have been highly upset. The real price is way to high for what I think is a less than average haunted house. read more

Came here tonight really late 20 mins before they closed. They stop selling tickets at 10pm but the attractions will cease around 10:30 (Thursday night. Weekends may be open later) We chose the main four attractions and paid $19.95. My favorite was the distorted maze despite the fact that I clearly ran into one of the fences thinking it was an open path. Lol. My friends were even funnier because I found the exit 5 mins before they did and I just enjoyed watching them scream and struggle to find a way out. Props to the actors that played along with me and scared the living day out of them. Tip: come earlier to enjoy longer ! read more
