Today we stopped into this store with the kids before they head back to school. One of them was…read morelooking for a Halloween costume. Walking around I quickly realized that thinking this place is just another Spirit Halloween store, is like thinking King Soopers is just another Starbucks Coffee place. The inventory at Reinke's is incredible. Yes, it has costumes for Halloween for that one month out of twelve where they celebrate that holiday and host a haunted house. But the rest of the year this place has everything you'd possibly want to host a Star Wars themed party, St. Patrick's Day bash, Mardi Gras gathering, create a magic show or produce a Broadway play. Room after room are filled with every imaginable item to change your appearance from scary to sexy. They also have makeup, masks, stage props and lots of different magic tricks. I was overwhelmed by the extent of their inventory. The kids had fun looking and playing with everything and we purchased some small items just for fun. I'm sure we'll be back.

Many robots and live people jumping out of nowhere! No expense spared and tons of custom art throughout. Fabulous does not even come close to explaining this place. YOU MUST GO "TO KNOW". Ask for Greg Reinke (owner) and he will give you the scoop on subtle things you miss (like the meaning of murals in the women's bathroom!!). Greg is very cool and has been given access to dozens more movie props from VIP's that adorn the high wall. Check out the original Pumpkin Head full-size statue from Stan Winston!!! And the original Preditor (plus 8-10 more from Star Wars to what ever! GO see it for yourself!)

Do. Not. Go. On. A. Weekend!…read more Yikes! We got in the line at 8pm on a Saturday night and didn't actually go into the haunted house until 11:30pm...3.5 hours?!?!?! Not only was the line moving at a snails pace, but there were times where we were literally standing (or resorted to sitting) in the same block on the sidewalk for 20+ minutes with zero movement. At about 9:30pm, a group of 30 soccer players showed up, went to the VIP line and were in and out within an hour, meanwhile, we had moved approximately 30 feet forward. They say they let in two VIP groups for every one regular, but honestly this simply cannot be the case based on how slow we were moving. We also started timing how much time elapsed between groups and there seemed to by no rhyme or reason, sometimes it was a minute, but twice, it got up to three minutes between groups. I love that they want to give you the experience with just your group, however, to be effective, it really needs to be specific days/timed slots, because we would have 100% turned around and come a different day had someone told us we would be waiting for even over 2 hours. As for the haunted house itself, it's sick, it's really well done and in my opinion, a great level of scare. However, after attending Halloween Horror Nights at LA and Orlando's Universal Studios, where the longest amount of time we ever waited was 2 hours, 3.5 for a standalone is downright ridiculous and significantly played into our overall experience.

When we arrived, there are plenty of activies to do besides the trail...but I must say to go straight to the portable potties and then get in line. The time slot on the ticket doesn't really matter as the lines are pretty long. Ticket wise...you have 3 options to get and we got the middle VIP tickets. Our wait time was about 1.5 hrs in line. I can only imagine the wait time for standard tickets. As you walk through the line, there is music and the DJ was pretty good. Wished I brought some ear plugs as it was super loud as you snake through the line and got closer and closer to the speakers. So...get ear plugs! As for the trail, it was a fantastic haunted trail to go through. The stories of the staged rooms, the props, the people, the ambiance were all great. Upon entering. The staff did space out the groups a bit so that you dont see scares coming your way...props to the staff and spacing of groups! Several jump scares got me good and at the end, you get to see a museum. I would highly recommend for anyone to go and check this place out and if you can afford it, get the immediate access. If you are ok with time...bring some entertainment for you and your friends.
