Went on a Friday night...the place is super packed and there is an overflow parking lot that can be used. When we arrived, there are plenty of activies to do besides the trail...but I must say to go straight to the portable potties and then get in line. The time slot on the ticket doesn't really matter as the lines are pretty long. Ticket wise...you have 3 options to get and we got the middle VIP tickets. Our wait time was about 1.5 hrs in line. I can only imagine the wait time for standard tickets. As you walk through the line, there is music and the DJ was pretty good. Wished I brought some ear plugs as it was super loud as you snake through the line and got closer and closer to the speakers. So...get ear plugs! As for the trail, it was a fantastic haunted trail to go through. The stories of the staged rooms, the props, the people, the ambiance were all great. Upon entering. The staff did space out the groups a bit so that you dont see scares coming your way...props to the staff and spacing of groups! Several jump scares got me good and at the end, you get to see a museum. I would highly recommend for anyone to go and check this place out and if you can afford it, get the immediate access. Excellent haunt with great changes in scenes, actors, scares, and types of terrain. Great costumes that help hide the actors so they make sure to get a scare out of everyone. I had a lot of fun and it felt like I was exploring instead of being herded though a haunt. They offer beer and have a food truck so if the line is long you can definitely stay refreshed. The place is owned locally by a family and I got to meet some of them. They are incredibly kind and really invested in changing it up and refreshing the place. I went on Halloween Night 2023 by myself since I love haunted attractions and had to check it out before the season was over. I got the VIP for $10 more than the general admission price, and with online fees, it was like $48. They have a front of the line option for even more, if you're made of money. Parking is free in the dirt lot which was nice, pulled in and parked right away. The VIP line was supposed to be about 1/3 the wait time of the GA and I'd say that was pretty accurate as the GA line was at least 3x as long. I got paired with a group of two (so 3 of us going through together) and we went through the doors after about 20-25 minute wait. The walkthrough was great since it was spaced out well, the people behind didn't catch up and we never saw the people in front of us til the end, so not many scares were spoiled. However, if I could do it again, I'd walk a bit slower because there's a lot of detail love in the sets and costumes and I wanted to take it all in more to fully appreciate it. I'd say the walkthrough lasted maybe 16 minutes so yeah it was about $3/minute if you look at it that way. All of the other side attractions cost extra so I just did the main one. I wish there were a few more actors scattered throughout, but the ones they had were into it at least. I liked the little museum/gift shop at the end, lots of cool horror memorabilia. It's hard to say if VIP is worth it. I was happy that my wait time was no more than twice as long as the attraction, and I thought the attraction was above average in quality and pacing compared to others I have been to in California where you're herded like cattle, but if you're super budget conscious it may seem overpriced based on what you get. read more

The props were awesome. The line for the general admission was a little long, but was worth it in end. They had actors walking around in the line to entertain and interact while we waited. I don't understand why they make you select a ticket time when they don't enforce it and when they over sell tickets anyways. We got in line at 8:25, ticket entrance time was 8:30. Directions say you can get in the queue at your ticket time. We wait in line for TWO HOURS. 2 hours!!!! I knew there'd be some wait time but that is just ridiculous for $45 tickets. Then we get into the haunted house and we ran into the group in front of us and then the people behind us ran into us so we were all just shuffling along. That took away from a lot of the jump scares which was a bummer. It is a really cool set up and the actors and props were fun. But I think they should be more transparent about wait times. If I knew ticket times wouldn't matter we would've gotten there at maybe 7 instead lmao. 8:30 time turned into us leaving at 11:15 which was not ideal. Honestly not worth it and then if you want faster entry you have to pay double the GA price. Just takes the fun out of everything. They care more about overselling overpriced tickets and heading as many people as they can through. Only bonus of waiting in line was the DJ. This is definitely my favorite haunted house! I love how something is new every year and how it's longer than most haunted houses. You never know what to expect which is so exciting. The attention to detail and quality of this haunted house is incredible. Something I would suggest for improvement is spacing out the guest through the attraction. It's scarier when you can only see your group ahead or behind you and the actors have more time for jump scares! Maybe adding a maze or escape room in the middle of the experience would help space out guests so each group gets their own experience. Regardless I really love this haunted house and look forward to visiting every year. Definitely recommend and is worth the money especially since it's family owned and operated. As somebody who has been to Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood every year for almost 10 years, I was a little skeptical about coming here to be scared. I love haunted houses and getting spooked and didn't know what to except from The Fright Compound. BUT The Fright Compound was AMAZING. My bf and I got tickets to enter at 8:30. We showed up at about 8:05 and we're let in at 8:45. The lady at the front who explained the rules was so sweet and friendly. The haunted house it self was so much fun. The moving floors really caught us off guard, although they remind you about it before you enter it was such a surprise and I loved that aspect of it. I love how it felt as if I was submerged into a different world. The clowns were my favorite part! One thing that I would have wished they had more of was scared actors but I'm going to assume covid guidelines changed that. BUYER BEWARE!!! My party and I were scammed by how this is marketed and run. We were so excited to go to this haunted house! We purchased tickets far in advance, and picked our time of 9:30pm. We arrived 20min in advance, and waited until our time came around and realized the line had hardly moved. We asked one of the workers what to do as our time had arrived and where we should go, and they said the wait would be 4 hours... 4 HOURS AFTER choosing the time and arriving early for the experience. The gentleman did let us know that we could upgrade and get the VIP tickets and cut the wait in half so it's only about 2 HOUR wait limit, OR you can pay an ADDITIONAL $30 per ticket to get "Immediate access", which is what many people do AFTER they arrive and realize that the line continues to grow even if you upgrade to VIP because the immediate access goes first ANYWAY! In addition, the tickets are non-refundable. I'm so sad that my family and I were super stoked to go to the "The Best Haunted House" in Denver, including those coming from out of state to experience something special, but instead we spent an additional hour in the car unnecessarily, and waited in the cold only to forfeit our tickets as we would not have chosen to go here had we known it would be $60 per person to be able to go at a reasonable hour. I had so much hope, but instead we left down in the dumps having wasted lots of time and money. I had so much fun there are an equal amount. Of pros and cons. Bad news first, starting with buying the tickets. The website itself was fine but I was looking for rules or faq's in general and was coming up short on the website and on facebook. I tried calling them and got told to leave a voicemail. Essentially they didn't get back to me until the day after we had gone which isn't very helpful but we figured out stuff out on our own so it's fine. On the bright side they had a lovey interactive phone menu. Upon arriving that dark and very chilly night we were pointed to the line of no end. I didn't realize there was a food truck until we were already three loops into the line and there was no turning back. If it weren't as cold it would've been more doable. We paid for general admission tickets after reading that the VIP tickets did nothing and immediate access still had wait times. IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY, GET THE IMMEDIATE ACCESS TICKETS. We ended up waiting a total of an hour and 10 minutes but witnessed the immediate access people waiting not more than 5-10 minutes. I couldn't see the VIP line but I know it was a million times shorter than the GA line. The silver lining of the long cold wait was that there was a DJ bumping his tunes with such passion. I danced the chills away most of the wait. ^We also got good entertainment out of watching a couple of dancing girls on tables near the entrance to the escape room. One girl was very sexually dancing for this older guy who kept feeling up on her. She even poured fake blood on herself for this guy, jumped into his arms from the table and rubbed on him. There were a few children in the line and the show was far from kid friendly but the adults were all amused. Once we got in there was a variety of decor. I thought it was high quality props and lighting with moving and bouncing floors. I was jump scared a max of three times Or four times but I'm more easily scared than half of my group. Honestly the scare factor comes into play with whoever is in the front of the group. If you're in the front you have more opportunities to get scared. If you're in the back you will see EVERYTHING coming and be bummed. I recommend switching positions often and early on because the amount of time we were in the haunted house itself was not more than 30 minutes. I think it was 20 minutes. There's a museum at the end and we were taking picture in front of them and someone, I believe the owner theatrically stopped us and insisted on taking pictures of us in a surprisingly brightened spot. He sillily exclaimed that we were too slow and said he was taking pictures of himself instead. Honestly this cheery on top is what really made my night. I cherish the pictures and his character. If. Not for this I would say that the ticket prices weren't worth the experience as most of my group didn't feel adequately scared. But the DJ, the questionable dancers, and the theatrical person I assume is the owner really made my experience what it is. read more

They also said you can "Pay $10 to be moved to VIP which was a two hour wait line or to pay and extra $30 for immediate access. Which means the tickets would be $65 for one person. Was so disappointing, drove a good ways to get there around 9 when our ticket was for 9:30 just to find out it would be 2 in the morning till we would be able to get into the Haunted House if we're LUCKY. read more

Spent $75 on my boyfriend and I coming here for GA. We waited in line an hour and a half before getting in. Haunted house took 20 minutes. None of the actors even tried to scare us. The group behind us had their child running and screaming with us the whole time. I have no idea why they were so close or why the staff didn't separate us even though I'd stop to give the group in front of us space to make it a better experience for all groups. Still couldn't even have any of the actors try to scare us, just herded like cattle through the end. No special effects, no attention to detail. Borderline false advertising/ just plain scam. Don't waste your time!! Should've been $3.50 not $35. Walk lasts about 10-15 min if you go slow, and not a single moment of it was scary. Even the simplest jump scares were poorly set up. You can see everything in front of you before it happens which takes all suspense out of it. Actors seem to be Craigslist workers or just plain volunteers, because all they do is either stare at you or beat a stick on something. They just sorta herd you through the compound like cattle. Set was put together well, and the "quicksand" section was kinda cool, but nowhere near worth the money or the hour wait. I'm not really sure what all the hype is about. Please listen to every negative review here as this was seriously one of the lamest experiences I've ever paid for in my life. This place is amazing! They have other cool things to do than the haunt like the monster museum, two mini escape rooms, and also experience what it's like to be in a coffin! My first haunted house experience was a huge success! Only waited in line about 15-20 mins in the VIP line during Halloween. The sets were really well done, I wish I could have gone through twice to be able to take it all in! The actors put in a lot of effort to sell it too. Unfortunately, we ended up having a creepy encounter with someone while waiting on an Uber (not the fun kind of creepy), and the staff jumped right in to make us feel safe.
