Friendly Tavern - Redington Shores I came for lunch today after being told it was friendly, the food was good, and it was a fun place to hang out. All of that turned out to be true. Parking was easy, and the staff was extremely friendly from the moment we arrived. The place itself is quaint and full of character--clean, welcoming, and with a rustic feel and that fun pink flamingo theme throughout. There's outdoor seating with plenty of breeze (a real plus in this heat), umbrellas, palm trees, and a cute tiki bar. It already feels like a great daytime spot, and it looks like it would be even more fun at night. The food was 10/10. The blackened grouper tacos with that amazing sauce were outstanding. And the freshly squeezed margaritas? Easily the best I've had in the area--they outdo a lot of other places around here. Live entertainment!! We came on Saturday for karaoke. It's been 2 months since our last visit. The bartenders were inattentive and NOT friendly. We arrived at 7:30pm and it took at least 10min to be acknowledged and asked what we were drinking. Ordered our drinks and attempted to make small talk with John. It wasn't busy at that time but he could care less about us. Needless to say, no one checked on us or how we were doing. We have been patrons for at least 25 yrs, not as frequent. I asked for a menu at approximately 8:50pm. He handed me the daytime (assuming) menu and never said anything about a 9pm menu change. He did get busy serving others so I flagged down the female bartender. As I tried to order, she grabbed the menu out of my hands and said,"You have to order off the late night menu as that's the wrong menu." It was 9:02pm. I stated that no one told me anything about ordering before 9pm Grouper Nuggets and she said " You can only order this menu" and walked away. Needless to say we ordered nothing! John did somewhat apologize for not letting me know I had 10min to put an order in. The female of course came back with attitude and the "what's the problem here". I ignored her and refused to have any conversation with her. Again, I have been coming here for many yrs. Been through a lot of bartenders and never have experienced the most unfriendly staff. We go to other bars and at the very least have had them ask if we at live here. These people could care less, which is sad since there are so many tourists. Unfortunately, it will be awhile before we come back and I will ensure to never give that female bartender my business! Sad, very sad how the atmosphere has changed. So many other friendlier and welcoming bars on the beach. It really wasn't too crowded and now I know why. Maybe they need more hospitality training. Good food, sad no lobster bisque anymore. A great little bar and grill with tasty food and wonderful servers. We ended going there 3 times during our short trip. Great food, beautiful new remodel job, good service. We've been going to this place for years but of course, it was badly damaged after Hurricane Helene came through last year (it is right across the street from the Gulf). New owners took over and did a fantastic renovation, beautifully updating everything and keeping the tiki bar, as well as the beach vibe! The boneless wings came out as fried cauliflower and the Mozzerlla Sticks were ice cold. When the wings were redelivered, there was still cauliflower mixed in. It's playoff football and it seems to be a pain for someone to turn a channel! Have the football games on ALL of your little TVs. Any NFL game has 20 million people watching.... A tavern with no taps is interesting. Just bottles and cans. And there is no list to see. They have outdoor seating on the front deck. But they allow cigar smoking where the tables are. And with the front door open, it went right into the dining room. Luckily, someone shut the door because they were cold. It took a while. Enough the waitress told us they sent another guy to the kitchen to help out. There was only us and another table. I got a chicken ceasar salad, and my partner got the buffalo chicken wrap. 16 minutes later, they came out to say they were just waiting on the wrap. And yes, the other table had their food. 8 minutes later and it came out and was incorrect. Only one of us got a silverware set since I got a salad, and there was no other napkin for my partner. We noticed some tables had paper towel holders, but ours did not. It took me a while to get the waitress to come back to inform her the meal was incorrect. It was the salad. I said no dresses, and it was completely tossed in italian, not even ceasar. At that point, my partner was done eating with my help attacking his fries, and my patience had run out. It should not take hours to eat a simple meal when they are dead. I informed her of the issue and kindly asked her to remove it from my bill, which it was obvious it was not touched. I got a huge eye roll, and she walked away with it. They did remove it from our bill. My partner said the wrap was subpar, not hot, which is odd for the fact we waited for it. Stopped a couple times while on a family spring break vacation. It was fun to sit outside under the tiki hut and the bartender/server was friendly and helpful with suggestions for breakfast during my first visit and lunch appetizer during my second visit. The peel and eat shrimp were fantastic with great seasoning and when mixed with the melted butter and hot sauce. Tried the same dish at a couple other restaurants and this was by far the best during our weeklong stay. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area. read more

Great little dive bar right on the Madeira Strip beach in Fl that is also right across the street from a breathtaking beach that offers the most picturesque sunset views I've ever seen! Come here for the food and drinks and stay for the karaoke. This is one of the few places around the area that serves food late and the service was good. There's karaoke a lot of nights so put your earplugs in or just join in and enjoy it. I choose the latter. Reasonably priced menus and good drink specials. Fun vibes read more

Came here to have a couple of drinks and a little appetizer. We sat at a table outside and had to ask the waitress to clean off the table. Didn't look like they wipe down the tables after patrons are there. Had no tap beers(a tavern with no tap beers-very odd) and did have wine but was served in a small plastic cup. We ordered the nachos to split-nachos were ok but needed more chips and also would have been nice to have two small plates besides the plate of nachos. We were given another platter which I used but my husband had to resort to using the paper towels on the table for a "plate." Waitress was fine but kept pushing us to go inside and "sing karaoke' which we were not going to do. I went to use the restroom before we left and was greeted by a stall full of vomit. The wings were great, The food for all four was great. No draught beer is a drawback for me, $3 a domestic bottle during happy hour softens the blow. This is a local bar that has a great karaoke crowd. There's some great lobster/shrimp bisque.(Only on Friday and Saturday) There's a typical food menu and beer,liquor, and wine. I think wine?!? Who cares, the karaoke is great and the party we had was great. The servers are lifers and they can be slow when it's busy but they get the job done. The drinks are stiff and in plastic cups and what else is there in life? Oh yeah the beach is literally across the street, so extra parking.
